- A light hearted comedy, from the thirties. One of the most successful ones in Hungary. The ever enchanting story of a beautiful girl falling in love with a rich man.
- The child needs a mother, the doctor says, and András Hargittay, a young widower, is willing to do anything to help his daughter's sorrow. Soon he brings a wife to the house, but Erzsike, who has already been informed by her governess about evil stepmothers, receives her with fear and rejection.
- Ferenc, a handsome man, is the object of desire of Gitta, both members of a group of middle and upper-middle class youth. Gitta's family, especially her father Peter Hubay are not keen of them being friends because they want Gitta to marry a wealthier man, Sandor. The family is not aware that Gitta and Sandor are already acquainted, as when Gitta's father bans Ferenc from his house, Sandor is the one who passes messages between the lovers. Ferenc becoming more aggressive in his advances towards Gitta but has to realize that she is a morally upright girl. Gitta finds Sandor more and more sympathetic and Ferenc less and less desirable. By the time the Hubay's give a party, Gitta and Sandor have already fallen in love.
- The story follows the life of a bright and sensitive schoolboy growing up in an old, established boarding school in the city of Debrecen in eastern Hungary.

Noboy believes his story that Maria is a stranger he has never seen before and his family press him to marry the divorcée as the right thing to do. He does so with the understanding that they will be divorced as soon as possible. But the best-laid plans sometimes change.
- Empress Elizabeth of the Austro-Hungarian empire in the 2nd half of the 19th century is fondly remembered for unraveling the troubles of distressed lovers. There are serenades, gypsy music, army uniforms, and moonlight.
- Set in the 1880's, Ferenc Kiss, a bandit, has had a long relationship with innkeeper Maria Lazar. The latter falls in love with Paul Javor, a mounted patrolman. But she knows Kiss will take some form of reprisal. Kiss attempts to kill Javor and Lazar, believing that he has, turns him over the the authorities.
- The wasteful Ferenc Noszty gets into serious trouble when even his family can't help him pay back his debts. There seems to be no other way, so they find him a rich girl to marry.
- Marika is adopted by Orbán Sándor after his wife dies. However, when she reaches the age of 19, he discovers she is more attractive than any of the women he knows. There are a few complications before MArika realizes that her foster father, Orbán, will make a better husband than any of the young men that are courting her.

Into this story, which takes place in a little fishing village on the bank of a river, comes Peter Rostas.) He falls in love with the wife and this leads to a tangled chain of events...across the rolling Hungaria countryside. The tangled chain is unscrambled for the best at the end.

- The plot revolves around mix-ups, mishaps and miss-matches, with Antal Pager, set to marry Zita Szeleczky, suddenly finding himself entangled with Lkari Tolnay, when he appears on the scene as she is about to attempt a half-hearted suicide. She further complicates things when Pager and Szeleczky are about to leave on their honeymoon. Cast also includes Lajos Basthy and Ferencz Vendrey. Somebody else will have to properly spell and accent the names as shown in Hungary. "Bitter Honeymoon" was the USA review title (translated for the English-only readers) and is not the title shown on the US screen version. No need to change the US title. If they understood the language, they also knew how to read the title in Hungarian.
- Klári is already a bride when she realizes that she loves not her fiancé, but the young engineer who is building her house, but she feels she has no strength to cancel the wedding. In his despair, Miklós takes solace in a nightclub, where he meets Lola, who would use any means to win him.
- Once upon a time, young people did not marry like today, only for love. Because if the love was there and they couldn't create their existence for it, then they must have faithfully waited until they had something to support themselves and the family. Gábor Kórody, an engineer without a job, and Magda Szabó, a poor country girl, have been engaged for years when their seemingly unbelievable dream finally comes true. Gábor gets a job through Magda's acquaintance. They set off happily, but an unfortunate incident disrupts their happiness, and may even make it impossible forever. Arriving in Budapest at the train station, Gábor somehow ends up in a brawl with a gentleman who happens to be the same "car king" from whom he got the job - such is one's luck. But Gábor has his own wits. He sends his friend, Máytá Tavaszi, who happens to be a pharmacist, to replace him at his new job.
- Essentially a documentary about the lives of the Hungarian Hortobagy plains horsemen and peasants, with a slight fictional storyline to hang it all on. The coming of 'machines' threatens the way of life of these peoples, and most of them want no contact with tractors or even bicycles. But not everyone agrees.
- The Lajos Zilahy story tells of an impoverished Hungarian noble family that lost its money during the war and has come upon hard times in the post-war World War I days. Eva Szorenvi, the oldest daughter, is involved in an automobile accident near the estate of the non-impoverished family of Antal Pager, and is taken to the home to recover. While recovering she manages to get all of her family jobs as domestics on the Pager estate, and is headed for the altar with Pager as the film ends.
- Torday Henrik is a wealthy invalid on his deathbed but, when relatives start gathering like vultures, he decides to spite them and get well. In the midst of the celebration Mami Gasparne and her son, Kovacs, arrive from Texas, and upset the goings-on with their strange manner...including, one presumes, speaking Hungarian with a Texas accent. Since Kovacs is his nephew, Torday welcomes them as additions to the family and has a marriage arranged for Kovacs. But the real romance starts when Ilonka is hired to instruct Kovacs in the manners and customs of the country.
