A plan to assassinate him is concocted and the gun-man Vinco Sindicic is sent to the quiet Scottish town to shoot the outspoken exile. After sitting and watching the house for a week, the assassin shoots Stedul several times as he leaves his house for a walk. The plan fails and Stedul survives. Adaptation of true events.
