- From the Gilded Age to the present day, the history of modern America has been one of wealth and power concentrated in the hands of a few families with enormous fortunes. 120 years ago, a capitalist Eldorado emerged in the USA, paving the way for personalities like Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates. How did the power of the super-rich consolidate itself, especially during the economic crisis after 1929 or during Ronald Reagan's policy of deregulation and tax cuts in the 1980s? Using extensive archive footage, this three-part documentary mini-series explores this question and tells in detail the history of American capitalism over a period of 150 years: from Rockefeller to today's plutocrats like Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg, to the Wall Street crash of 1929 that triggered the Great Depression to the global financial crisis of 2007/2008.
- Based on the latest historical research and recently discovered archives this film retraces the journey of men and women persecuted by the Third Reich because of their sexual orientation. Resetting the social and political context of the 1920s, when European society still "tolerated" homosexuality, this documentary details the mechanisms of repression led by the Nazi regime against this particular group and the horror of the concentration camps as told by those who experienced it first hand.
- n the Landes forest of Gironde, in south-west France, a group of cowboys with thick Gascon accents go about a recreated Far-West landscape. A genuine Native American is thee too, spinning around coloured hoops in some strange ritual dance. Others, looking almost as authentic, are bivouacking in the woods. From saloon to prairie, colts are quivering and eyes are darting. Somewhere in between utopia and entertainment, historical tale and pure fiction, these men and women are involved in ambiguous role-play:to what extent is it fake, and when does it start to be real?
- Set over four days of unrelenting wind and rain in a remote village high up in the Nafpaktia Mountains in the west of Greece, the film follows the lives of two shepherd families struggling to live. The village, now forgotten and near deserted, has had its best days. Paxnis, the old white haired shepherd, who had foreseen the trouble this land would face has already given into despair. Giorgos unable to sell his goats and with debts mounting up, drinks to forget. Combining documentary and fiction with an all local cast 'To the Wolf ' is both the reality and an unsettling allegory for today's Greece
