- André lives alone in a forest region. His life is changed when he finds Coiote, a mysterious young man, asleep in his propriety. Coiote teases Andre's desires and forces him to resignify values already eroded in his life.
- Muanza is a woman born in the Kingdom of Kongo and trafficked to Brazil in the 19th century. Waking up nowdays, she finds herself in a time-twisting Rio de Janeiro. Figures from the past and from the present come into her search for her roots across the city's territory. A portrait of the experiences and struggles that create community and sisterhood.
- Two lives cross in New York. Lamis, a Lebanese woman, has just moved to the city and describes her impressions while the Brazilian man Wilson has already lived there for 10 years. We never see them on the screen, but their relationship is described in poetic Arabic and Portuguese voice-overs, which contrast starkly with the images, shot in New York, Berlin and Brazil. In this way, the film speaks literally to the imagination: the events take place between what we see and what we hear. This hybrid form of documentary, fiction, travelogue and letters makes this 'film diary' reminiscent of News from Home (1977) by Chantal Akerman. Whereas Akerman brings together two different worlds based on letters from her mother in Belgium and images of New York, While We Are Here adds macro and geopolitical issues, such as globalisation and migration, to this approach. The main thread remains intimate and human: desire, love, fear and memories.
- Two young Portuguese women try to put down roots in Brazil. Teresa is newly arrived; Francisca has been there a while.
- Wandering Notes revealing an everyday life of the city that the author was born. Places picked by chance show her encounter with this city.
- In Minas Gerais hinterland Bastú has just lost her husband Feliciano. Without crying, she seeks shelter in everyday life and in her memories. But it is in the freedom of dreams and the news brought by her grandchildren that she makes her own transformation. Mary carries on her drum the joy and strength of her people. Its drumming echoes the sounds of other places and marks the presence of what cannot die.
- Tania learns that her grandmother spent the last years of her life in the loving company of an alien. Together with two friends, the Trans woman travels through rural Argentina to bring the creature back to its place of origin.
- It is the first time that Joana, a Brazilian, has visited her friend Kevin in her country, Uganda. They met 20 years ago when they studied together in Germany and have not seen each other for a long time. Now they are close to turning 40 and life is more complex than in youth. This is a film about a friendship between women.
- Breath is a creative documentary about human existence and the mysteries of life and death, seen in the everyday life of a small village in the middle of nowhere, in the countryside of Brazil, where families have lived for years, almost completely isolated from contact with the outside world. Wind, dust, mountains, silence and time... Man and nature live together there in both harmony and conflict, amidst what is and what could be, in the vastness of a landscape grander than vision can grasp.
- In northeast Brazil, aboio, it is how it is called the song used by cowboys to herd the cattle. Through this subject, the documentary portrays the life and culture of those men living in that arid back country.
- Documentary about dreams and desires of ordinary people, about fuels that move us daily: happiness, recognition, financial stability, marriage, health, fun, a few pounds less, enjoyment, overcoming or even a simple and humble kite.
- A film about absence narrated by people who have experienced feelings of distance and emptiness and are living in Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique and Cabo Verde. Bodies, landscapes, memory and time. A journey through the territories of memory, representation and belonging.
- A man caught in the verge of freedom. He penetrates a city where the boundaries between reality and dream disappear. He crosses the landscape without belonging to it anymore. A farewell before departing.
- A group of girls are experiencing the end of their adolescence. Impossible romances leave marks on their bodies and the surrounding landscape. Each of the friends finds her own particular way to resist the changes and to live within a tangle of uncertainty.
