- In the Loir-et-Cher region, Saint Laurent-des-eaux, not far from the Château de Chambord, is the site of France's second nuclear power plant. Saint Laurent-des-eaux is the birthplace of Cécile Delarue's family. In the space of a few years, the village's farmers would come into contact with technological progress, see their village evolve and prosper, and experience the social elevator for their children and grandchildren. Saint Laurent-des-eaux was also the site of France's two biggest nuclear accidents, in 1969 and 1980. Cécile had never heard of these accidents and wanted to find out why by going back to the site.
