- The painter Lili Elbe was the first person to have gender confirmation surgery in the 1930s. The homonymous opera is a glimpse into the life of Lili Elbe and her wife, the Danish painter Gerda Wegener, through Lili's transition at a time when such surgery was still completely uncharted territory. The opera is based on historical sources including Lili Elbe's own writings, unlike the film The Danish Girl (2015) which is based on the novel of the same name.
- A young tutor named Alexei Ivanovich begins gambling to win enough money to become a rich man and therefore win the favor of Polina, the woman that he loves and the mother of the children that he tutors.
- A governess taking care of two children in a large mansion house begins seeing the ghost of her predecessor and believing her charges are possessed by a villainous valet.
- Having led a series of victorious campaigns against rival territories, a warrior wins the hand of a Brahmin priestess. But when his true caste is brought to light, he risks losing more than just his bride. Based on a play by Casimir Delavigne, Stanislaw Moniuszko's final opera is rarely performed. Poznan Opera presents it in this new production directed by Graham Vick to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the composer's birth.
- Britten's maritime masterpiece about repressed passions and the weight of guilt is performed in Norway for the very first time. Annilese Miskimmon sets Billy Budd in the claustrophobic, hard masculine environment of a submarine.
