- After a military extraction team fails to rescue its target in a zombie-like quarantine zone, the lone surviving member makes his way back to civilization and struggles with severe post-traumatic stress disorder and survivor's remorse.
- Led by naive idealist Matty, a group of writers in the "Alternative Content Department" of WYTE ("Whitey") Productions has 24 hours to come up with project ideas to submit for consideration by studio management.
- Flynn Gicicio, a mild-mannered underachiever, inherits a fixer-up house from a long lost relative. Flynn moves into the house, along with his willful and often overbearing girlfriend Karen, but he is unable to afford the mortgage and the taxes. Prodded by Karen, Flynn rents out rooms in the house to help cover expenses but has trouble getting his motley crew of tenants to actually pay their rent, making his problems even worse. Among the zany tenants are: Larry Brandon Nero, seemingly an out of work actor who plans to pay his rent when he gets his next "big gig"; Ora Rizon, seemingly a fortune teller who knows everything except when she'll be able to pay the rent; Bunny Snow, seemingly an escort who uses her room as her place of work; Muhammad Akbar, seemingly a terrorist assembling a large cache of weaponry; and Adelai Knight, seemingly a sufferer of somnambulism (especially when the rent is due). When the bank eventually decides to foreclose on Flynn's mortgage and repossess the house, Flynn's zany cast of tenants actually show their true colors and band together to try to help him.
