- Sierra Seed Cooperative is a seed farm and education center dedicated to preserving organic, heirloom seeds and teaching people how to save them. This short film features farm director Rowen White, originally from Mohawk Nation, and the educational program she offers. In the words of Rowen herself, "Our Seed Seva Educational program is a holistic, indigenous permaculture-based approach to seed stewardship that honors the many layers of seed culture, from practical hands-on skills, cultural context, and memory with guiding principles that are rooted in an indigenous ecology of interconnected relations." "We cultivate intimacy with the earth and ancestral food traditions through medicinal storytelling on seed songs and seed rematriation in innovative, grounding, rich fertile, nourishing learning circles."
