My dad rented it from the library when my sister and I were very young and it made me appreciate nature all the more. Beautiful animation as well, simple, but, very effective.
- DirectorClyde GeronimiWilfred JacksonHamilton LuskeStarsBarbara LuddyLarry RobertsPeggy LeeThe romantic tale of a sheltered uptown Cocker Spaniel dog and a streetwise downtown Mutt.Although I saw this movie when I was very young, because the rat scene really scared me, I truly didn't appreciate it until I was about seven. Truly a beautiful movie.
- DirectorRandal KleiserStarsEthan HawkeKlaus Maria BrandauerJedJack London's classic adventure story about the friendship developed between a Yukon gold hunter and the mixed dog-wolf he rescues from the hands of a man who mistreats him.Truly my favorite adaptation of the classic Jack London novel.

Nonetheless I got it as a Christmas gift on VHS and loved it ever since.
- DirectorToby SheltonTad StonesAlan ZasloveStarsJonathan FreemanScott WeingerDan CastellanetaJafar comes for revenge on Aladdin, using a foolish thief and Iago's treachery to find a way back into power.Despite the inferior animation, I was so hooked on Return of Jafar when I was in grade five, that I wore out the original. Iago's character development made him my favorite.
- DirectorJames AlgarSamuel ArmstrongDavid HandStarsHardie AlbrightStan AlexanderBobette AudreyThe story of a young deer growing up in the forest. While the death scene did sadden me when I fist saw it when I was five or six, the beauty of the animation and the wonderful cast of characters made up for it for me.
- DirectorMartin RosenJohn HubleyStarsJohn HurtRichard BriersRalph RichardsonHoping to escape destruction by human developers and save their community, a colony of rabbits, led by Hazel and Fiver, seek out a safe place to set up a new warren.By far, few movies had left such strong memories as Watership Down did. In spite of the darkness throughout the movie, I couldn't help but to think this movie further sparked my fascination of animal behavior.
- StarsDavid GregoryLaurie MainMichael EvansAnimated version of the book by Anna Sewell, which tells the story of a horse and the many hardships and tales of cruelty and kindness he encounters during his life.If there had been any movie that had gave me inspiration in fighting animal abuse, this title would be it.
- DirectorRobert RedfordStarsRobert RedfordKristin Scott ThomasSam NeillThe mother of a severely traumatized daughter enlists the aid of a unique horse trainer to help the girl's equally injured horse.I saw this movie when I was a teenager going through some rough times as a result of bullying at school. It impacted me deeply and, I think, helped me connect me even more with my animals. RIP, Hamish. This movie makes me think of you as I had you for a year when it came out.
- DirectorJack KinneyHamilton LuskeWilliam MorganStarsEdgar BergenDinah ShoreLuana PattenJiminy Cricket hosts two Disney animated shorts: "Bongo," about a circus bear escaping to the wild, and "Mickey and the Beanstalk," a take on the famous fairy tale.Ever since I was a small child, I was a huge fan of Mickey and the Gang. Their take on Jack and The Beanstalk was delightful and memorable, and I as well enjoyed the story of Bongo, a story that I didn't recall and was a lovely surprise for me.
