- DirectorRupert WyattStarsJames FrancoAndy SerkisFreida PintoA substance designed to help the brain repair itself gives advanced intelligence to a chimpanzee who leads an ape uprising.I've always liked the Planet of the Apes series, and I am a huge fan of Franco, so this seems like a match made in heaven and a perfect opportunity to rinse out the bad taste of Tim Burton's remake.
- DirectorJohn LasseterBradford LewisStarsOwen WilsonLarry the Cable GuyMichael CaineStar race car Lightning McQueen and his pal Mater head overseas to compete in the World Grand Prix race. But the road to the championship becomes rocky as Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.I'm actually REALLY concerned about how this film's gonna turn out because everything we've seen so far looks pretty mediocre, but I have faith in Pixar and despite popular opinion, I quite liked the first Cars. So we'll see, it could go either way.
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them, but Erik's vengeful pursuit of an ambitious mutant who ruined his life causes a schism to divide them. It's been a long time since we got ourselves a good X-Men movie. X-Men: The Last Stand was hardly spectacular, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine could have and SHOULD have been much better than what it was. But this looks like X-Men is finally being taken seriously again, and from what I've seen, it looks really badass.
- DirectorJennifer Yuh NelsonStarsJack BlackAngelina JolieJackie ChanPo and his friends fight to stop a peacock villain from conquering China with a deadly new weapon, but first the Dragon Warrior must come to terms with his past.I thought the first Kung Fu Panda was a great movie, in fact better than it deserved to be. So naturally I should be concerned for the sequel and whether lightning can strike twice, ect. But the early footage for this looks really quite good. So I have fairly high expectations, and even if it's half as good as the first I'll be satisfied.
- DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsChris HemsworthAnthony HopkinsNatalie PortmanThe powerful but arrogant god Thor is cast out of Asgard to live amongst humans in Midgard (Earth), where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.I really like the angle that's being taken with this movie, it looks really unique and interesting. I think it'll be good, and of course I need to see it for The Avengers story arc in these Marvel Studios movies. I was worried that the only reason I'd see this is to satisfy the completist in me but this film is actually shaping up to look really cool.
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsDaniel CraigHarrison FordOlivia WildeA spaceship arrives in 1873 Arizona to take over the Earth, starting with the Wild West region. All that stands in their way: a posse of cowboys and natives.Alright, this looks flat-out awesome. I love Jon Favreau's films, and the concept of this movie just seems so unique, that I have to see it. I mean I've never seen anything like it, and I think it's gonna be a really cool movie.
- DirectorTodd PhillipsStarsBradley CooperZach GalifianakisEd HelmsTwo years after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Stu's plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry. All I want right now is an actual trailer for this movie. It's coming out in less than 2 months and we've seen next to NOTHING for this movie. That's bad advertising, because most people I know didn't even realize that there was a Hangover sequel coming out. That being said, I've heard great things from test screening reviews and I loved the first film, so I don't think this will be a mere rehash of the first, it looks like a lot more is going on in this film and quite frankly, I'm really excited.
- DirectorJoe JohnstonStarsChris EvansHugo WeavingSamuel L. JacksonSteve Rogers, a rejected military soldier, transforms into Captain America after taking a dose of a "Super-Soldier serum". But being Captain America comes at a price as he attempts to take down a warmonger and a terrorist organization.Like with Hangover 2, I've felt like we've been sitting around waiting for a trailer to this for longer than we should've been. But after seeing the first trailer, I am really pumped for this movie. I'm a big Captain America fan, so I was excited from the get-go but the trailer looked really, really good! I can't wait to see how they put this to the big screen and tie it in to the Avengers, because seeing as this is the last piece of the puzzle, I'd need to see this anyway. But good thing is that it looks like it could be a stellar film!
- DirectorRob MarshallStarsJohnny DeppPenélope CruzIan McShaneJack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too. This looks like the series is being taken in the right direction. I liked all three original pirates movies, but that being said, the sequels were not without their problems. And here, it looks like the majority of these problems have been fixed. I think this new direction is going to help boost the quality in this series, and I never thought I'd say this but the 3-D is actually something I'm excited to see! I think this new Pirates flick is going back to their roots and going to bring this series back into the public eye again, I can't wait.
- DirectorDavid YatesStarsDaniel RadcliffeEmma WatsonRupert GrintHarry, Ron, and Hermione search for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord as the final battle rages on at Hogwarts. This is a weird situation for me, having my most-anticipated film also be the film that I never want to see. I've been a Harry Potter fan since I learned how to read. The last book's release was depressing enough but knowing the last film is coming is just going to tear me apart. That being said, I really enjoyed the first half of this movie and I think that Yates and Co. can and will pull together a stellar final chapter, and the perfect finale to the series.
