Underrated or Cheated Actors

He is not recognized as much as he should be for the brilliant actor he is. He should have been given an Oscar nomination for The Mask, but he got a razzie nomination instead. His performances in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Man on the Moon were also Oscar worthy, but they were also overlooked. However, in my opinion, the worst injustice was when he was shunned by the Academy and the Golden Globes for his wonderful performance in I Love You Philip Morris. I think he is in the top 5 most underrated actor of all time.

She was sensational in Ghost and should have received an Oscar nomination. She gave great performances in A Few Good Men and G.I. Jane, yet she has not been given the recognition she deserves. She was even given a Razzie for G.I. Jane.

Loved him in Man in the Iron Mask. He was perfect as D'Artagnan. I could see him getting an Oscar nomination for that film. He's also wonderful in the HBO series In Treatment which should be a lot more popular than it is.

Few actors can disappear into their roles like he can and he's only gotten one Oscar nomination. He is a screen chameleon! One of the best actors ever! Hope he gets an Oscar soon!

Should have been nominated for more films than Reversal of Fortune. Dead Ringers was definitely worthy of an Oscar nomination. M. Butterfly was also a great performance. Also, he's been in films that should be more popular than they are. The Mission, Reversal of Fortune, The Man in the Iron Mask, Kingdom of Heaven, and Casanova. Despite these great films, not to mention Lion King, too many people do not know who he is. He should be a lot more famous than he currently is.

One day I realized that Helen Hirsch from Schindler's List, Amanda and Portia from Bicentennial Man, and Mary Parker from the latest Spider-Man films were all the same actress. She is amazing! I could not believe that they were all the same person. She is so underrated! She should be really famous and have at least 1 or 2 Oscar nods.

He's pretty famous but he should be given a lot more credit for the great actor he is. Kinsey was worthy of an Oscar nomination. Lately, he's been given a lot of action parts. His acting is so wonderful that he should be given a lot more incredible parts.

He is such a great actor! He's been Oscar nominated twice and won two Emmys. I loved him in My Name is Bill W., in which he played one of the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was also brilliant in Hercules, Promise, and Ghosts of Mississippi. Despite his acclaim, he's not as famous or as highly regarded as the great actor he is. He should be getting a lot more amazing and demanding roles.

He's a very talented actor and has not received enough acclaim for it. He was great in films like Footloose, Mystic River, Death Sentence, and Sleepers. He should have a couple of Oscar nominations by now.

Gave a wonderful performance in Flash of Genius, but he was not nominated for an Oscar. Also, he should have a lot more parts as leading men.

Indiana Jones, Han Solo, Dr. Richard Kimble, Branch Rickey, and many more. The man is a legend, and he only has one Oscar nomination! He needs to win an Honorary Oscar for his amazing body of work!

Should be a lot more popular as a leading lady than she is. She was wonderful in Pay It Forward, What Women Want, and Cast Away. She was given an Oscar for her performance in As Good As It Gets, and that is where her critical acclaim seems to have stopped, at least until the Sessions.

He is a great actor, yet he is always put in action flicks. He was wonderful in The Sixth Sense and was not nominated for an Oscar. In that role, he proved that he could do a lot more than play tough cops and gangsters. He should have a lot more demanding roles.

Showing great range from Dumb and Dumber to Gettysburg, he is not recognized as the very talented actor he is. His performance in Gettysburg should have been Oscar nominated.

His performance in the Color Purple was amazing! He should have been nominated for an Oscar. Amazingly, despite being famous for Color Purple, Lethal Weapon, and many others, he has never received a well deserved Oscar nomination.

I thought she was awesome in Gladiator! I thought she should have been Oscar nominated for it. I hope being cast as Queen Hippolyta will really further her career because she is quite talented.

Gave wonderful performances in The Godfather and Misery, but he has not become as famous as other people in The Godfather trilogy. Diane Keaton, Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro have all gone on to become superstars, but James is overlooked a lot more than them. He should be much more of a leading man than he is.

He was phenomenal in the Notebook, but he was not nominated for an Oscar. In addition to that, his name does not come up as often as it should in the list of the greatest actors of all time. He has been in several successful things, but he is not the leading man that De Niro, Gere, Nicholson, and many others are.

Has shown himself to be immensely talented with roles like Ferris Bueller, Glory, and The Lion King. Yet, he is not considered to be in the same category with many great actors like Leonardo Dicaprio and Kevin Spacey. He was shunned by the Academy when he was not nominated for Glory and deserves to be much more popular and highly regarded.

He was spectacular in the Dark Knight, but all of the praise went to Heath Ledger, which he greatly deserved. He was wonderful in Rabbit Hole, but all of the praise went to Nicole Kidman, which she deserved. Even though the actors in these two films who got most of the credit deserved it, Aaron was also spectacular in both of them. I think he should have also gotten an Oscar nomination for Rabbit Hole and a little more credit for his wonderful job in the Dark Knight.

Great actor! Should have more nominations than just 2! I can think of at least two or three more that are awesome! Namely, Fight Club, Kingdom of Heaven, and Red Dragon. Also, he should have won for Primal Fear. I loved Cuba Gooding Jr. in Jerry Maguire, but he should not have beaten Norton.

He is one of the top 30 actors of all time, but he can't seem to get recognition for it. He should have won the Oscar for Magnolia but lost to Michael Caine for The Cider House Rules. Caine was great, Cruise was even greater! In addition to this, people say too often that he always plays the same character. While he does play an immature guy who changes a lot, this statement is not true. Just watch Born on the Fourth of July, Magnolia, Tropic Thunder, Collateral, Interview with the Vampire, Rock of Ages, and Minority Report. And, finally, he should have a lot more nominations than 3. Collateral, Rain Man, The Last Samurai, and Interview with the Vampire were all worthy of nominations. Possibly, A Few Good Men and Vanilla Sky as well.

He gave great performances in The Dark Knight Rises and Lincoln. I think he's worthy of being Oscar nominated. I hope he gets that recognition soon.

He has been in very popular films, but he has not been given the recognition that he should have been for his acting ability. He should have been honored with an Academy Award nomination for his work in Scent of a Woman, but he wasn't. I also do not see why his performance in Batman & Robin was considered to be bad. The only thing that made his performance look bad was the script. The Razzie nomination he received should be wiped off of his record, and he should be seen as the good actor he is.

GIVE THE LADY AN OSCAR!!! She was flawless in Fatal Attraction, but she did not receive an Oscar for that or any other of her films. She's been nominated 6 times, but she has never won.

Although he is highly recognized as an incredible actor, he lost the Oscar for his wonderful performance in I Am Sam. What makes him cheated is the fact that he lost it to Denzel Washington for portraying a bad guy in Training Day. While Denzel's performance was great, Sean was playing someone mentally challenged, which was much more impressive to me than Washington's performance.

So versatile, so talented, should have an Oscar by now! Should have been nominated for Edward Scissorhands and Donnie Brasco!

He should have won the Oscar for his amazing performance in Schindler's List. As good as Tommy Lee Jones was in the Fugitive, Fiennes was better. His performance in Red Dragon was also Oscar worthy.

I don't understand why everyone hates her as an actress. I think she's a good actress. She's not Meryl Streep by any means, but I do think she's good. I enjoyed Maid in Manhattan and Monster-in-Law, which critics ripped her apart for. I don't even think Gigli was as bad as everyone says. It did have a really bad script though.

She was huge in the 60s and 70s for Bonnie and Clyde, Chinatown, and Network, but she should have stayed huge. Many people think it was her performance in Mommie Dearest that hurt her career, but I think it was one of the most bone chilling performances I've ever seen! I think it's a crime that she wasn't Oscar nominated for that film! She was PERFECT!!!

He is extremely popular, but he is not given as much credit for his acting ability as he should be. Although he won two Oscars for it, his great performance in Braveheart was not nominated, and he was shunned again for his wonderful performance in the Beaver, which may be his greatest performance ever.
