1. Chris Hemsworth

Actor | Snow White and the Huntsman

Christopher "Chris" Hemsworth was born on August 11, 1983 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to Leonie Hemsworth (née van Os), an English teacher & Craig Hemsworth, a social-services counselor. His brothers are actors, Liam Hemsworth & Luke Hemsworth; he is of Dutch (from his immigrant maternal ...

Maybe it's the God persona he plays - I I don't remember him having this much gravitational pull when he was in Home and Away.

2. Taylor Kitsch

Actor | X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Best known for his portrayal of troubled high school football star "Tim Riggins" on NBC's acclaimed television series, Friday Night Lights (2006), actor Taylor Kitsch has scored big with audiences and critics on both the big and small screens.

Taylor Kitsch was born on April 8, 1981 in Kelowna, ...

Gambit, John Carter, screw-up Navy Lieutenant, it's all good. Blunt features and sharp eyes, he's got a unique look, and he brings a strange mix of boyish charm and shrewdness to his characters. Also, bulging biceps.

3. Jensen Ackles

Actor | Supernatural

Jensen Ross Ackles, better known as simply Jensen Ackles, was born on March 1, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, to Donna Joan (Shaffer) and actor Alan Ackles. He has English, German, and Scottish ancestry. Jensen grew up in Richardson, Texas, together with his older brother, Joshua, and a younger sister, ...

I have to admit, I've only seen him in Dark Angel and Supernatural, but they are brilliant shows, and he shines in both of them. He and Jared Padalecki show amazing acting chops in Supernatural, bringing depth and drama and tragedy and pathos to a show that could otherwise just play as a campy horror. Jensen makes the character Dean still compelling after seven series, full of black humour and pain, and he's super hot too. I'm sure that the only reason Jensen Ackles isn't an A list movie actor now is that he loves working on Supernatural with his best buddy Jared too much to leave. which leads me to...

4. Jared Padalecki

Actor | Supernatural

Jared Padalecki was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Sherri (Kammer), a teacher of English, and Gerald Padalecki, a tax accountant. He is of Polish (father) and German, English, Scottish, and French (mother) descent. Jared started to take acting lessons when he was 12. Then, he won the "Claim to Fame...

...this guy. Jared performs acting hoops making you see the good-hearted, vulnerable side of Sam Wincester, and then the next moment the power craving pragmatist. And he does it all with that impish face and shining eyes.

5. Misha Collins

Actor | Supernatural

Misha Collins is an actor, director, producer, writer, and activist dedicated to inspiring cultural and civic engagement through works that "game-ify" philanthropy, inspire creativity, and promote social good.

For 12 years, Collins co-starred in Supernatural (2005), the longest running American ...

Also of Supernatural, Misha plays the intense Castiel straight, but he still is the source of some laughs due to Castiel's inability to be anything but deadly serious in all situations. Misha's boyish face and soft voice go a long way to endearing Castiel to us, as Castiel could come off as merely controlling, high handed and eccentric. In the words of Dean "angels are dicks".

6. Chris Evans

Actor | The Avengers

Christopher Robert Evans is an American actor, film producer, and director. Evans began his acting career in typical fashion: performing in school productions and community theatre.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Lisa (Capuano), who worked at the Concord Youth Theatre, and G. ...

He has the classic look that would have made him the most popular guy in high school. He must be a good actor, because he made the character of Jonny Storm, the Human Torch, believably obnoxious, and yet I totally bought his quiet bravery and patriotism as Captain America. It was great to see him play a proper hero.

7. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Actor | Inception

Joseph Leonard Gordon-Levitt was born February 17, 1981 in Los Angeles, California, to Jane Gordon and Dennis Levitt. Joseph was raised in a Jewish family with his late older brother, Dan Gordon-Levitt, who passed away in October 2010. His parents worked for the Pacifica Radio station KPFK-FM and ...

It's been interesting watching Joseph grow up on TV. From squeaky voiced skinny teenager on Third Rock From the Sun, to high school comedy to leads in thriller, romantic comedies, action movies and blockbusters, it seems like he can do it all. And it doesn't hurt that he looks like Heath Ledger's little brother. Heath himself would be on this list, except I'm not counting dead actors - where would one draw the line?

8. Ryan Reynolds

Actor | Deadpool 2

Ryan Rodney Reynolds was born on October 23, 1976 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the youngest of four children. His father, James Chester Reynolds, was a food wholesaler, and his mother, Tamara Lee "Tammy" (Stewart), worked as a retail-store saleswoman. He has Irish and Scottish ancestry. ...

I never saw the appeal of this guy until I saw The Proposal. I guess I hadn't seen him in anything good until then. RomCom suits him well.

9. Josh Hutcherson

Actor | The Hunger Games

Joshua Ryan Hutcherson was born on October 12, 1992 in Union, Kentucky to Michelle Fightmaster, who worked for Delta Air Lines, and Chris Hutcherson, an EPA analyst. He has one younger brother, Connor Hutcherson. From the age of four, Josh knew that he wanted to be an actor. In order to pursue his ...

A good actor, a sympathetic face, he invites empathy for any character he plays, and from there, heart-throbbiness.

10. Ewan McGregor

Actor | Moulin Rouge!

Ewan Gordon McGregor was born on March 31, 1971 in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland, to Carol Diane (Lawson) and James Charles McGregor, both teachers. His uncle is actor Denis Lawson. He was raised in Crieff. At age 16, he left Morrison Academy to join the Perth Repertory Theatre. His parents ...

One of my old favourites, and he's still hanging in there, not ready to retire to the 'Once Were Hotties' list I am formulating. Here's an oft overlooked gem for Ewan fans 'Down With Love' co-starring Rene Zellwegger. Ah, I love a Scotsman! Coming up are a few more.

11. Gerard Butler

Actor | 300

Gerard James Butler was born in Paisley, Scotland, to Margaret and Edward Butler, a bookmaker. His family is of Irish origin. Gerard spent some of his very early childhood in Montreal, Quebec, but was mostly raised, along with his older brother and sister, in his hometown of Paisley. His parents ...

When I saw The Phantom of the Opera with Gerry Butler behind the mask, there wasn't a lot of him on display, but it didn't matter 'cos Gerry's natural sexiness and gravitas leaked out all over the place. He was the hottest damn Phantom there ever was, and I was unable to understand why Christine picked Raoul (no offense to Patrick Wilson, he's a lovely lad). Gerry is a former lawyer, and came to acting late, hence the process of Hollywood hasn't yet managed to rub off his rough edges - Glasgow and Scotland are stamped all over him still, and I like that. From making his way through bit parts to B-movie leads to blockbusters, Gerry has been working like a dog it seems, to make up for lost time.

12. James McAvoy

Actor | Filth

McAvoy was born on 21 April 1979 in Glasgow, Scotland, to James, a bus driver, and Elizabeth (née Johnstone), a nurse. He was raised on a housing estate in Drumchapel, Glasgow by his maternal grandparents (James, a butcher, and Mary), after his parents divorced when James was 11. He went to St ...

I went to see the children's movie The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe when it came out, and was completely blindsided by the appearance of the sexiest, cutest, most charming Mr Tumnus my imagination could have devised. I looked forward to seeing this actor in other things, and wasn't disappointed. He's a top actor to boot, which has him appearing in some high brow productions, but as I have blockbuster tastes, I prefer him as Dr Xavier over Dr Garrigan. However, when he uses his natural accent is always the best.

13. Hugh Jackman

Actor | Les Misérables

Hugh Michael Jackman is an Australian actor, singer, multi-instrumentalist, dancer and producer. Jackman has won international recognition for his roles in major films, notably as superhero, period, and romance characters. He is best known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film ...

Oh my, my! Hugh Jackman is quite the actor - this nice guy, all-singing, all-dancing, twinkle eyed family man will have you believing that he's a short, angry muscled up mutant loner, a tall, gruff and untamable outback cowboy, a scientist obsessed with saving his dying wife, a magician driven past all boundries of ethics and humanity is his pursuit of revenge. And best of all, he always looks fantastic doing it.

14. Seann William Scott

Actor | American Pie

Seann William Scott was born in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, to Patricia Anne (Simons) and William Frank Scott, a factory worker. He was discovered at a talent competition in Los Angeles, and almost immediately was flown to New York by ABC to test for All My Children (1970). His face has also been ...

This guy is so appealing. And he doesn't have just one note, but you'd think he did by most of the movies he appears in. Is he typecast? Majorly. Does he need a new agent? Probably. I watched Southland Tales, an ambitious mess of a movie (but that's another story) and couldn't figure out who this familiar looking, extremely handsome and sympathetic actor was playing the cop. Turns out it was this guy. Without the context of a high school or college, or merely college-humour comdey I didn't even recognise him. That's not to say he's not attractive when appearing in some pile of low-denominator comedy, but he can be so much more. Talent! Looks! Wasted! To see him in a comedy a little better than his usual, check out Role Models.

15. Aaron Eckhart

Actor | The Dark Knight

Aaron Edward Eckhart is an American actor. Born in Cupertino, California, Eckhart moved to the United Kingdom at an early age, when his father relocated the family. Several years later, he began his acting career by performing in school plays, before moving to Australia for his high school senior ...

Ooh...Aaron...classic handsome, cheery, cheeky, charming looks. He doesn't often play the heroic characters, but he sucks me in all the same. My thoughts are, we don't get enough of this guy.

16. Jude Law

Actor | The Talented Mr. Ripley

Jude Law is an English actor. Law has been nominated for two Academy Awards and continues to build a prolific body of work that spans from early successes such as Gattaca (1997) and The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) to more recent turns as Dr. John Watson in Sherlock Holmes (2009) and Sherlock Holmes:...

It might not be fashionable to love Jude Law now, not post-over-exposure, or post scandal. But I'd be being dishonest to myself and this list if I didn't admit I find Jude totally hot still. Naughty and nice. I've no idea what he's like in real life, and I've no desire know to either. I like that he has hairy man legs.

17. Eric Bana

Actor | Dirty John

Eric Bana was born Eric Banadinovic on August 9, 1968, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is the younger of two brothers. His father, named Ivan Banadinovic, came from Zagreb, Croatia, and worked as a manager for Caterpillar Inc. His mother, named Eleanor Banadinovic, came from a German family ...

I do like some shiny brown eyes. As far as I'm concerned Eric's best role was as Hector in Troy - not only was Hector a very compelling character, the wisest in the whole film, except nobody listens to him and he has to clean up the mess they cause, but we get to see Eric all buffed up, swords and sandals and all!

18. Shia LaBeouf

Actor | Honey Boy

Shia LaBeouf's natural talent and raw energy have secured his place as one of Hollywood's leading men.

Most recently, LaBeouf starred alongside Vanessa Kirby and Ellen Burstyn in Kornel Mundruczo's Oscar® nominated Pieces of a Woman. In the critically acclaimed film, a grieving couple (Kirby/LaBeouf...

Pretend you haven't seen any Transformers movies. Expunge the memory of Crystal Skull from your mind in you were a original Indiana fan. Now rate him. My favourite Shia LaBeouf movie I have seen in is Eagle Eye.

19. Jake Gyllenhaal

Actor | Nightcrawler

Jake Gyllenhaal was born on December 19, 1980 in Los Angeles, California as Jacob Benjamin Gyllenhaal, the son of producer/screenwriter Naomi Foner and director Stephen Gyllenhaal, and the younger brother of actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. He is of Ashkenazi Jewish (mother) and Swedish, English, and ...

I don't always like the movies he is in, but for me he made such fantastical trash like Prince of Persia not just watchable, but enjoyable and worth watching again just to see Jake act his heart out running around in eye liner and sometimes with no shirt on. In Source Code, which is the most recent Jake Gyllenhaal movie I've seen (and it reminded me to put him on this list) he really shines, totally carries the movie and gives it all it's heart.

20. Simon Pegg

Actor | The World's End

English actor, writer, and comedian Simon Pegg was born Simon John Beckingham in Brockworth, Gloucestershire, to Gillian Rosemary (Smith), a civil servant, and John Henry Beckingham, a jazz musician. His parents divorced when he was seven. He later took his stepfather's surname "Pegg." He was ...

Bring me a ginger geek! Okay, knowing that Simon Pegg is a terribly funny writer and writes or co-writes many of the movies that he is in definitely ratchets his hotness score up a few notches. However, what made me develop a true crush on him were his roles in Star Trek and Hot Fuzz, especially Hot Fuzz. As the uptight, super-efficient Nicholas Angel he just burnt up the screen for me. Arrest me officer!

21. Aidan Turner

Actor | The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Aidan Turner was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1983. After graduating from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2004, Aidan appeared in a number of stage productions, many with Ireland's national theatre, The Abbey. Such productions included The Plough & The Stars, Romeo & Juliet and A Cry from Heaven. In ...

I believe that after The Hobbit comes out that this boy's star will be rising.

22. Jamie Bell

Actor | Billy Elliot

Described by top film critic Mark Kermode as an "unbelievably versatile" actor, Jamie Bell was born in 1986 in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England, UK, to Eileen (Matfin) and John Bell, a toolmaker. He comes from a family of dancers including his grandmother, mother, aunt, and ...

Buckets and buckets of talent can be sexy. Watch him steal the show in any movie. He was nearly the only interesting thing in Jumper; he put the rest of the actors to shame. He was the bright point in Defiance. He made the strange and orphaned side plot in King Kong sweet and endearing (though it was still ultimately still pointless). I really should seek out more of his lesser known movies.

23. Sam Worthington

Actor | Avatar

Samuel Henry John Worthington was born August 2, 1976 in Surrey, England. His parents, Jeanne (Martyn) and Ronald Worthington, a power plant employee, moved the family to Australia when he was six months old, and raised him and his sister Lucinda in Warnbro, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia.

...

Kind of the opposite to Jamie Bell, Sam Worthington has what you could say was adequate acting talent, and buckets of God-given good looks. He's not very good at accents, which is a shame because I don't like his Australian one that much, but hey, he seems like a nice guy and he's great to watch! Avatar was ideal material for him. I don't blame him for Terminator 4, that movie would have sucked balls no matter who was in his role (no, a large slice of blame I serve to Christian Bale, for various reasons), nor Clash of the Titans, which was doomed from the beginning. He's just a rookie actor making his way. I'm very happy that Wrath of the Titans is much better that Clash, as is Sam's acting. I might have to watch Man on a Ledge, as it has the novelty of Sam Worthington and Jamie Bell at the same time!

24. Jamie Bamber

Actor | Battlestar Galactica

Jamie Saint John Bamber Griffith known professionally as Jamie Bamber, is a British actor, known for his roles as Lee Adama in Battlestar Galactica and Detective Sergeant Matt Devlin in the ITV series Law & Order: UK. He also had a supporting role as 2nd Lt. Jack Foley in the HBO miniseries Band of...

BSG SPOILER ALERT! I admit it, Jamie Bamber is in here based solely on his epic portrayal if Lee "Apollo" Adama in Battlestar Galactica. Okay, he was a pretty hot midshipsman in Hornblower, but that was a long time ago. Besides that, I've seen him in precisely nothing. It doesn't matter. The brave but melancholy Colonial Fleet Captain will always have my heart. Not quite man enough to conquer the mad Everest of Starbuck, I cried so hard when Apollo didn't get to live happily ever after with Kara.

25. Josh Holloway

Actor | Lost

Josh Holloway was born on July 20, 1969 in San Jose, California, USA. He is an actor and producer, known for Lost (2004), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) and Sabotage (2014). He has been married to Yessica Kumala since October 1, 2004. They have two children.

Ah, smother me in your Southern Charm! I was unber excited when I heard that Josh Holloway was being considered for the role of Gambit in X-Men 3, and very disappointed when the part was cut from the script under Brett Ratner's new vision (BTW in the first scene of X-Men: Last Stand, Wolverine isn't taking the danger room seriously, acting dismissive and cocky and then doing the bare minimum to bring things to an abrupt anticlimactic halt - this was Brett Ratner projecting himself into the movie, because this is what he did to X-Men!). And then he turned down the same role in Wolverine. Okay, Taylor Kitch got the part, but *you would have been perfect Josh!*

26. Leonardo DiCaprio

Actor | Inception

Few actors in the world have had a career quite as diverse as Leonardo DiCaprio's. DiCaprio has gone from relatively humble beginnings, as a supporting cast member of the sitcom Growing Pains (1985) and low budget horror movies, such as Critters 3 (1991), to a major teenage heartthrob in the 1990s,...

Leo has played a career of two halves. In the first half we were blinded to his talent by his dashing boyish good looks. Post Catch Me if You Can, as Leo lost his boyish bloom we got a clearer view of the man underneath the beauty. Yes, talent is sexy. Talent makes any character twice as appealing, or horrifying, if that's what they're meant to be. For me, this is best exampled in The Departed. My heart broke for Billy.

27. Josh Hartnett

Actor | Lucky Number Slevin

Joshua Daniel Hartnett was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Wendy Anne (Kronstedt) and Daniel Thomas Hartnett, a building manager. His father is of Irish and German descent, and his mother is of Swedish and Norwegian ancestry. Hartnett graduated from South High School in Minneapolis in June of ...

Josh Harnett nearly didn't make my list. He is hot, when he tries. I don't know if this is a conscious decision or just what casting agents think, but Josh is best in heroic leads. I just plain don't like him as a villain or a conflicted anti hero. I don't believe it. Stick to the simple stuff with heart - it's not beneath you.
