So I went and watched it. I was thrown right into a harmony of sounds and pictures. All the different idioms, metaphors and expressions that I had never heard of really intrigued me, and the language is a real charm about this movie. I love it for the experimental cinematography, the diverse characters, the somewhat complicated story and especially the exotic communication between the characters. Brendan is also one of the coolest main characters I've beheld.

Well, the scene in the den under the mattress is one of the most uplifting scenes I've witnessed in a movie. A glimmer of hope in a wasteland. - DirectorPeter JacksonStarsElijah WoodIan McKellenOrlando BloomA meek Hobbit from the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron. For 5 years I believed this was the best movie in the world. All of my sympathy.
- DirectorDarren AronofskyStarsSean GulletteMark MargolisBen ShenkmanA paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature. The whole experience reminds me of the masterpiece "Serial Experiments Lain". My sister said this was my kind of movie, so I went and watched it. She was right, so right. I was already a fan of Franco when I saw this, and my fascination over him grew immensely throughout the movie. It's bound to touch every adventurous soul out there.
- DirectorSofia CoppolaStarsStephen DorffElle FanningChris PontiusAfter withdrawing to the Chateau Marmont, a passionless Hollywood actor reexamines his life when his eleven-year-old daughter surprises him with a visit. My fascination for this movie grew over time. The scenes are trying your patience at times, but fortunately I found that to be worthwhile. And, as we all know, this is Sofia Coppola, so there's pretty much no way I'm not going to appreciate it anyway. Elle Fanning is wonderful.

Back to the film, I'm still waiting to see anything that can match this movie in terms of futuristic, cyber-infused atmosphere and story.
- DirectorHarold RamisStarsBill MurrayAndie MacDowellChris ElliottA narcissistic, self-centered weatherman finds himself in a time loop on Groundhog Day.Stuck-in-time plots are always promising! - DirectorMichael CiminoStarsRobert De NiroChristopher WalkenJohn CazaleAn in-depth examination of the ways in which the Vietnam War impacts and disrupts the lives of several friends in a small steel mill town in Pennsylvania. This movie is manly. I can't say I would watch the wedding scenes all over again, but they worked well to provide huge contrasts to the second half of the movie. The hunting scenes were euphoric. In some scenes, this movie made me cringe up in tears and sympathy for the characters.
- DirectorFrank MillerQuentin TarantinoRobert RodriguezStarsMickey RourkeClive OwenBruce WillisAn exploration of the dark and miserable Basin City and three of its residents, all of whom are caught up in violent corruption.5 years since I watched it alone, as a 12yo, on uncle's television. I'm still overly fascinated by what I saw. Perfectly brutal and macabre, it holds to be a first-class watch. Alexis Bledel's blue eyes were absorbingly beautiful.
- DirectorJens LienStarsTrond FausaPetronella BarkerPer SchaanningIn a strange city where every person seems content beyond reason a new man arrives in town and stirs up trouble by asking too many questions. This is dark humour as well, and it's so amusing. Apart from The Big Lebowski, this must be the funniest black comedy I've ever seen. The indifference of it all made me wrench my gut in laughter.
- DirectorGore VerbinskiStarsNicolas CageHope DavisNicholas HoultA Chicago weather man, separated from his wife and children, debates whether professional and personal success are mutually exclusive.Another slightly sombre, gloomy comedy. Best movie I've seen Nicolas Cage in, definitely.
Potential all-time favorite scene: My favorite scene in this movie is undoubtedly the one where he audaciously points his bow and arrow at the party... - DirectorHans Petter MolandStarsStellan SkarsgårdBjørn FlobergJorunn KjellsbyUlrik's released from prison after 12 years for murder. Will he go straight? He gets a room and a job as mechanic. He hooks up with his old gang. His son introduces him as uncle to his pregnant fiancée.Dark, dark, and so incredibly funny humour. At the same time, it felt kind of depressing, as all black comedies do, seeing all that crap happen to people. But the ending cleared my mind of all derogatory thoughts and sent me straight to Cloud 9, so I've got no complaints.

- DirectorMel GibsonStarsMel GibsonSophie MarceauPatrick McGoohanScottish warrior William Wallace leads his countrymen in a rebellion to free his homeland from the tyranny of King Edward I of England.Dad's favorite movie. - DirectorPeter WeirStarsRobin WilliamsRobert Sean LeonardEthan HawkeMaverick teacher John Keating returns in 1959 to the prestigious New England boys' boarding school where he was once a star student, using poetry to embolden his pupils to new heights of self-expression.Oh, another slightly tedious, family-friendly, basic-morale American movie. Yeah? I THOUGHT SO TOO. BUT I WAS WRONG. This movie is highly inspiring on all aspects. Robin Williams's greatest movie. It was also fun to see Wils- uh, I mean Robert Sean Leonard and Ethan Hawke as teenagers.

- DirectorRidley ScottStarsNicolas CageAlison LohmanSam RockwellA phobic con artist and his protégé are on the verge of pulling off a lucrative swindle when the former's teenage daughter arrives unexpectedly. This film just clicks with me. The peculiar lighting with a tinge of blue throughout the film could either be horrible or awesome. For me it becomes the latter. I got vibes from Up In The Air. Either way, the twist really had me going and I liked the ending.

Stellan Skarsgård is awesome as always.
- DirectorDavid LynchStarsKarolina GruszkaKrzysztof MajchrzakGrace ZabriskieAs an actress begins to adopt the persona of her character in a film, her world becomes nightmarish and surreal.... A... Ahaaa... It's David Lynch, is all. I read around a bit and saw that people found the movie scary. Really? I was only overcome by tense melancholy. What happened outside room 47 suddenly shrouded my mind in some silencing cloak of misery. It's hard to explain what I felt.

The connection was made when I saw the jukebox. This is such a lighthearted film in comparison, but they're equally sweet.
- DirectorAdrian LyneStarsJeremy IronsDominique SwainMelanie GriffithAn English professor falls for a minor, and has to face the consequences of his actions.I fell in love with the atmosphere right away, despite the taboo theme, and followed the story 'till its end. When Jae-Young falls in love with one of those man she suppresses her feelings towards him in respect of her friend who's jealous.I instantly recognized Ki-duk Kim's style when I saw this film. There are two main stories going on here and they kind of clash, but Ki-duk, who's definitely one of my favorite directors, managed to sail the ship ashore with his wonderful ways of conveying a message.
- DirectorHenning CarlsenStarsPer OscarssonGunnel LindblomBirgitte FederspielIn 1890, Pontus, the starving writer, wanders the streets of Christiania, in search of love and a chance to get his work published. All he meets is defeat and suffering while his sense of reality is withering. One moment his is delighted and the next he curses everybody. All the time he manages to maintain human dignity and pride.I never expected the film adaptation of Knut Hamsun's "Sult" to be this brilliant.

- DirectorKevin ReynoldsStarsJames FrancoSophia MylesRufus SewellAn affair between the second in line to Britain's throne and the princess of the feuding Irish spells doom for the young lovers. This film has the honor of taunting such emotion in me that I let the tears roll for the first time to a film. I was 12, in love and easily swayed, so I guess it was a good time to break the barrier. The love-ridden connection between Tristan and Isolde was excruciating.
- DirectorAnh Hung TranStarsKen'ichi MatsuyamaRinko KikuchiKiko MizuharaToru recalls his life in the 1960s, when his friend Kizuki killed himself and he grew close to Naoko, Kizuki's girlfriend, and another woman, the outgoing, lively Midori.Grshhh, ow ow ow!
