- DirectorPeter R. HuntStarsGeorge LazenbyDiana RiggTelly SavalasBritish agent James Bond goes undercover to pursue the villainous Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who is planning to hold the world to ransom.George Lazenby may not be the best Bond, but he played the role confidently and starred in one of the stronger installments. He has great chemistry with Dianna Rigg as Tracy, probably my favorite Bond girl, and I'm impressed that he did his own fight scenes. It also has some of the best action scenes in film history, my favorites being the ski chases. On top of that, it has the best score in the franchise, composed by none other than John Barry. The secondary theme "We Have all the Time in the World" was a song worthy of getting an Oscar nomination, but sadly it wasn't. The story is also one of the stronger points. This installment is often overlooked because of Lazenby, but he doesn't ruin the movie because there are a lot of positives. Deservedly one of the best and my personal favorite.
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsDaniel CraigEva GreenJudi DenchAfter earning 00 status and a licence to kill, secret agent James Bond sets out on his first mission as 007. Bond must defeat a private banker funding terrorists in a high-stakes game of poker at Casino Royale, Montenegro.Daniel Craig brings new life to the character of Bond in one of the strongest debuts in the series. Judi Dench reprises her role as M and she's great as usual. Eva Greene as Vesper, characterwise, is also great. She has some great chemistry with Bond. Mads Mikkelsen's Le Chiffre is a great villain with a nice distinctive characteristic. The theme song "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell is one of the best songs in the series. This is one of those near-perfect installments in the Bond franchise.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsTimothy DaltonRobert DaviCarey LowellA vengeful James Bond goes rogue to infiltrate and take down the organization of a drug lord who has murdered his friend's new wife and left him near death.Timothy Dalton goes full force as Bond tries to avenge his friend, Felix Leiter, by finding the man who attacked him. He has his licence to kill removed, but that does not stop him. Robert Davi plays as one of the best and most menacing villains in the franchise. People criticize the film for being heavy on violence and that Bond was too brooding. I think this is the most underrated film in the series.
- DirectorSam MendesStarsDaniel CraigJavier BardemNaomie HarrisJames Bond's loyalty to M is tested when her past comes back to haunt her. When MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.Happy anniversary, 007! Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, and Javier Bardem were great. The rest of the cast such as Ben Wishaw as Q and Naomi Harris as Eve are also great additions. The action scenes are much better and do not distract from the overall story. The story definately focuses on both Bond and M and their relationship grows throughout the movie. Of the Daniel Craig Bond films, I prefer "Casino Royale" a little more, but this is still a welcome entry.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsSean ConneryGert FröbeHonor BlackmanWhile investigating a gold magnate's smuggling, James Bond uncovers a plot to contaminate the Fort Knox gold reserve. An installment that is near-perfect. It has a memorable theme song, a villain with a sinister plot, a memorable henchman, great supporting characters, cool gadgets, and great scenes. Definately one of the highest points in the series.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsTimothy DaltonMaryam d'AboJeroen KrabbéJames Bond is sent to investigate a KGB policy to kill all enemy spies, and uncovers an arms deal that potentially has major global ramifications.Timothy Dalton put on a strong performance as Bond. He takes on a much more serious take on the character. Maryam d'Abo as Kara is an underrated Bond girl and one of my favorites. John Barry's score is the best score since OHMSS. It's got that classic and exciting feel. Lastly, the action and stuntwork are amazing as usual (riding a cello case... nice). A worthy installment of the franchise.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsRoger MooreBarbara BachCurd JürgensJames Bond investigates the hijacking of British and Russian submarines carrying nuclear warheads, with the help of a K.G.B. agent whose lover he killed. The best Bond film starring Roger Moore. From the acting, the set pieces, the stuntwork, set pieces, memorable henchman (steel teeth... just awesome), the theme song... it does not disappoint. The villain on the other hand isn't that great. Plus, the score by Marvin Hamlisch is nothing special.
- DirectorTerence YoungStarsSean ConneryRobert ShawLotte LenyaJames Bond willingly falls into an assassination plot involving a naive Russian beauty in order to retrieve a Soviet encryption device that was stolen by S.P.E.C.T.R.E.It offers some good action scenes, a great henchman played by Robert Shaw, a beautiful Bond girl, a memorable and suspenseful scene (the train fight) and a decent villain.
- DirectorTerence YoungStarsSean ConneryUrsula AndressBernard LeeA resourceful British government agent seeks answers in a case involving the disappearance of a colleague and the disruption of the American space program.A great start to the James Bond franchise. The introduction to Connery as Bond is classic, Ursula Andress as Honey Rider is one of the most memorable Bond girls, the title villain is also one of the most memorable villains in the series, and has some of the most exotic locations in the series.
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsPierce BrosnanSean BeanIzabella ScorupcoYears after a friend and fellow 00 agent is killed on a joint mission, a secret space based weapons program known as "GoldenEye" is stolen. James Bond is assigned to stop a Russian crime syndicate from using the weapon.Obviously the best Bond film to star Pierce Brosnan. Although I'm not a big fan of Brosnan as Bond (he's pretty flat compared to the others), he did a decent job. It has some good stuntwork (mainly the Bungee jump at the beginning), two great Bond girls, a decent villain, and a Post-Cold War setting. We also have a nice introduction to Judi Dench's M and she's great.
- DirectorSam MendesStarsDaniel CraigChristoph WaltzLéa SeydouxA cryptic message from James Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover the existence of a sinister organisation named SPECTRE. With a new threat dawning, Bond learns the terrible truth about the author of all his pain in his most recent missions. The script is a little lacking in some parts, but it's made up for it with its good cast, great action scenes, cinematography that is on par with Skyfall, humor that fits well, and is overall a fun movie to watch.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreCarole BouquetTopolSecret service agent James Bond is assigned to find a missing British vessel equipped with a weapons encryption device and prevent it from falling into enemy hands. After "Moonraker", the producers decided to go back to basics by excluding the gadgets. This is by far Roger Moore's darkest portrayal as Bond (something you would see in a Timothy Dalton film a few installments later) and it's well done, toning down the humor a bit. It also includes a suspenseful and memorable rock climb scene.
- DirectorTerence YoungStarsSean ConneryClaudine AugerAdolfo CeliJames Bond heads to the Bahamas to recover two nuclear warheads stolen by S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Agent Emilio Largo in an international extortion scheme. If there is a Bond film with the most exotic locations, it would have to be Thunderball. Sean Connery is great as usual, the Bond girls are great, and it has a decent villain. The film is probably well-known for its underwater sequences. They are impressive, but they get boring, to be honest, and that's my only gripe with this movie.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreMaud AdamsLouis JourdanA fake Fabergé egg recovered from the body of a fellow agent leads James Bond to uncover a jewel smuggling operation led by the mysterious Octopussy, and a plot to blow up a NATO air base.Although it has its silly, over the top moments (my favorite being Bond's Tarzan yell, lol), it's actually not as bad as people claim it to be. It's got some good action scenes, a decent villain, beautiful women, and a great song played in the opening credits.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsSean ConneryAkiko WakabayashiMie HamaJames Bond and the Japanese Secret Service must find and stop the true culprit of a series of space hijackings, before war is provoked between Russia and the United States. It's enjoyable for the most part, but compared to the first four Bond films with Connery, it falls short. Blofeld's volcano hideout is pretty cool, Donald Pleasance was alright as Blofeld, and the aerial battle in the middle of the movie was entertaining. Though Sean Connery looks bored with the role and the story kinda drags for a while.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsRoger MooreYaphet KottoJane SeymourJames Bond is sent to stop a diabolically brilliant heroin magnate armed with a complex organisation and a reliable psychic tarot card reader. For Roger Moore's first outing as Bond, it's not that bad. The title song is one of the best songs in the series, Roger Moore is alright, Jane Seymour as Miss Solitaire is beautiful, and Yaphet Kotto is decent as the main villain. But the movie seems kind of dated since it came out during the blaxploitation era.
- DirectorMarc ForsterStarsDaniel CraigOlga KurylenkoMathieu AmalricJames Bond descends into mystery as he tries to stop a mysterious organisation from eliminating a country's most valuable resource.Looking back, it's actually not that bad. Sure, the action scenes suffer from atrocious editing and shaky cam, but that's rarely bothersome in the second half of the movie. Daniel Craig gives a good performance, as well as all the other actors. The villain is nothing special and Olga Kurylenko's Camille is not your typical Bond girl and I think that's what makes her a decent character. There are better revenge stories in the Bond franchise, but this one did OK.
- DirectorJohn GlenStarsRoger MooreChristopher WalkenTanya RobertsThe recovery of a microchip from the body of a fellow British secret agent leads James Bond to a mad industrialist scheming to cause massive destruction. Not quite a good swan song to Roger Moore as Bond. On a positive note, Christopher Walken is great as the main villain, Max Zorin, perhaps the most psychotic villain in the series. The title song by Duran Duran is a memorable song and I do often listen to it. Now on to the negatives. Tanya Roberts as Bond's leading lady is pretty lacking and there really is not much chemistry between them (plus, he's too old for her). Grace Jones as May Day doesn't quite live up to her character and the scene where Bond beds her is pretty awkward to watch. Again, not a good swan song for Roger Moore as Bond, but it never fails to be entertaining.
- DirectorRoger SpottiswoodeStarsPierce BrosnanJonathan PryceMichelle YeohJames Bond sets out to stop a media mogul's plan to induce war between China and the UK in order to obtain exclusive global media coverage. After "GoldenEye", the Brosnan Bond films began to falter. This had some potential, but never fully lives up to them. None of the Bond girls were really memorable and the villain played by Johnathan Pryce came out flat. It's pretty much a generic action flick, but an entertaining one at that. The title song by Sheryl Crow is alright, but "Surrender" by k.d. lang is much better. I still have no idea why they didn't use the latter song in the opening credits.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsRoger MooreChristopher LeeBritt EklandJames Bond is targeted by the world's most expensive assassin, while he attempts to recover sensitive solar cell technology that is being sold to the highest bidder.Christopher Lee is charismatic as the villain and seems like a worthy opponent to Bond. Other than that, nothing really sticks out. The story just drags. And Sheriff Pepper from "Live and Let Die"... no comment.
- DirectorLewis GilbertStarsRoger MooreLois ChilesMichael LonsdaleJames Bond investigates the mid-air theft of a space shuttle, and discovers a plot to commit global genocide.Well, what do you expect from a Roger Moore Bond film? It's silly. It has a lot of over the top moments, and Jaws is dumbed down for comedy relief (did I also mention he has a girlfriend? **shudders**). On a positive note, it has some great set pieces and it does offer an amazing skydiving stunt done for real. Your argument is invalid. It may be silly, but it's a lot of fun and that's all that matters.
- DirectorMichael AptedStarsPierce BrosnanSophie MarceauRobert CarlyleJames Bond uncovers a nuclear plot while protecting an oil heiress from her former kidnapper, an international terrorist who can't feel pain. This movie had some potential to be good, but simply throws it all away for a convoluted plot and action scenes being there just for the sake of action. It would have been Brosnan's "Goldfinger"/"The Spy Who Loved Me" but I guess not. Though it offers a great farewell to Desmond Llewellyn's Q.
- DirectorGuy HamiltonStarsSean ConneryJill St. JohnCharles GrayA diamond smuggling investigation leads James Bond to Las Vegas where he uncovers an evil plot involving a rich business tycoon. While it has some funny lines and great stunts, the movie just disappoints. Sean Connery may have returned as Bond for one last time (in the official series), but his performance is pretty much watered down and less enthusiastic. Charles Gray's Blofeld is a joke and nowhere as menacing as Telly Savalas's Blofeld and Jill St. John's Tiffany Case is not a great Bond girl. The title song by Shirley Bassey is great, though.
- DirectorLee TamahoriStarsPierce BrosnanHalle BerryRosamund PikeJames Bond is sent to investigate the connection between a North Korean terrorist and a diamond mogul, who is funding the development of an international space weapon.A Bond film full of references to previous installments. Halle Berry's Jinx is one of the worst Bond girls, the villain is forgettable, the Gadgets are ridiculous, and it's heavy on CGI effects. Plus, the title theme by Madonna... seriously? It's cheesiness at its finest.
