CRASH BANDICOOT

Alignment: GOOD Crash Bandicoot is a marsupial, a defender of good, and a bit of a nut. Originally a simple Eastern Barred Bandicoot, Crash was captured by Dr. Neo Cortex and turned into the subject of his mad experiments, along with several other marsupials. With the help of a machine called the Evolvo-Ray, the maniacal Cortex genetically modified Crash into a smart and anthropomorphic creature. In other words, Crash now looks and acts like people. Somewhat.

COCO BANDICOOT

Alignment: GOOD Coco is an Eastern Barred Bandicoot. She is Crash's younger sister who, much like him, was snatched from the jungle and evolved by Dr. Neo Cortex. She is an intellectual girl and possesses vast knowledge concerning modern technology. A few years ago, she even used to carry a pink laptop with her all the time. But technology isn't Coco's only interest - she is also a talented kung fu fighter.

DR. NEO CORTEX

Alignment:EVIL Dr. Neo Cortex is both Crash's creator and arch-nemesis. He is a genius scientist stubbornly bent on world domination and evil plans. He is well known for kidnapping animals from the jungle and mutating them with a contraption called the Evolvo-Ray. Crash Bandicoot was originally intended to be the general in his army of super animals, but the experiment failed when he couldn't control Crash's mind. Crash has since been Cortex's sworn enemy and he always shows up to put an end to whatever diabolical scheme the big-headed doctor may have in mind.

AKU AKU

Alignment: GOOD Many centuries ago, Aku Aku was a great benevolent witch doctor. He cared for the well-being of his fellows and his home islands. Today he is no longer a "living" being in flesh, so to speak, but his spirit is still present to protect the planet he loves. Aku Aku communicates and acts through the aid of a special mask, which represents his entity as a form of incarnation. Ever since Crash Bandicoot was created, Aku Aku has always been around to protect him, like a sort of sidekick.

UKA UKA

Alignment: EVIL Uka Uka, otherwise referred to as "The Great Uka Uka", is Aku Aku's younger evil twin brother. Like Aku Aku, his spirit communicates through a special mask. He is the opposite of his brother: angry, malicious and pure evil. He is Dr. Neo Cortex's ever-so-frustrated master, who keeps losing his patience because of his lackey's constant failures. Uka Uka is also good friends with Dr. Nefarious Tropy, who is very loyal to him.

PURA

Alignment: GOOD Pura was found in the Great Wall of China by Coco, who took him home and became his owner for a while. His duty in the Great Wall was to serve as an oriental express and give people rides across the wall. Pura acts more like a kitty than a tiger - he purrs, meows, and loves to be petted.

POLAR

Alignment: GOOD Polar used to be Crash Bandicoot's pet. He served as Crash's means of getting across icy passages a few times. Despite being a bear, Polar acts a lot like a dog - he barks and he used to guard Crash's house when he was absent.

TINY THE TIGER

Alignment: EVIL Tiny is one of Dr. Neo Cortex's mutated animal allies. Tiny is very unintelligent. Though he can talk and understand what he is told (most of the time), Tiny is dumb and often makes mistakes. He usually refers to himself in third person with crude English. Though he has small legs, Tiny is a powerful jumper. He is savage and very brute, and his strong body allows him to crush things with ease, even metal.

DINGODILE

Alignment: EVIL Dingodile is a mutant created by Dr. Neo Cortex. As his name implies, he is half dingo and half crocodile. He may seem like an ordinary henchman, but he is actually one of the most intelligent of Cortex's mutants.

NEFARIOUS TROPY

Alignment: EVIL Nefarious Tropy is a master of time and quantum warp technology, and an old friend of Uka Uka's. Tropy has the ability to control time, but he is easily frustrated and has a very short patience, which makes this his major weak point. This happens because every moment he wastes feels like an eternity to him.

DR. N. GIN

Alignment: EVIL N. Gin is Dr. Cortex's right hand man. Once a World-renowned physicist within the Defense industry, N. Gin was taken in by Cortex after one of his missile projects went terribly wrong and hit him in the head. The missile was reconstructed as a cyber life support system, but is still live. As a result, N. Gin is part human, part machine.

NITROS OXIDE

Alignment: EVIL A crabby green alien from planet Gasmoxia, Nitros Oxide is a sucker for racing competitions. He is the self-titled "fastest racer of the galaxy". He has a bad temper and is a very sore loser, and usually moves and races in a small green hovercraft.

DR. NITRUS BRIO

Alignment: EVIL Dr. Nitrus Brio (or N. Brio for short) is a scientist who is best known for his achievements in mutagenetic science. He sometimes works together with Cortex but isn't exactly fond of him. The difference between N. Brio and Cortex is that even though N. Brio's inventions always work, he is never ambitious enough to try anything grand. Because of this, most people assume Cortex is the smartest one, when it is actually the other way around.

CRUNCH BANDICOOT

Alignment: GOOD Crunch is a super-strong bandicoot. He was genetically modified by Dr. Neo Cortex with the intent of destroying Crash Bandicoot. Crunch was supposed to become what Crash failed to be - a loyal bandicoot warrior and the head of Cortex's mutant army. Using the power of the Elementals, Crunch was supposed to have obliterated Crash, but thanks to his and Coco's efforts, Crunch got free of Cortex's mind control and history repeated itself, with the evil doctor gaining a powerful new enemy.

KOALA KONG

Alignment: EVIL Once a peaceful koala, Kong was captured and evolved by Dr. Neo Cortex. He is one of his first mutants, and as such, he wasn't a complete success. When Cortex created Kong, he added too many protons to the muscle department, and too few to his brain. Kong is quite a brute character, so he likes to throw stuff around and pose to show off his muscles. He's not much of a talker.

PINSTRIPE POTOROO

Alignment: EVIL Evolved by Dr. Cortex, Pinstripe is a gangster potoroo that makes no bones about protecting his master with wits, skills, and a fully loaded tommy gun. He is one of the most intelligent of Dr. Cortex's creations, being able to talk and act like a real gangster (even possessing a stereotypical Italian gangster accent).

RIPPER ROO

Alignment: EVIL Ripper Roo, also known as Dr. Roo, was the first of Cortex's mutations, and therefore, one of the least successful ones. Crazy, insane, not-all-there, Ripper Roo is easily one of the most demented foes around. He is almost always laughing, sometimes even conjugating his laughter into a form of speech.

PAPU PAPU

Alignment: EVIL Papu Papu is the leader of a native tribe from N. Sanity Island. He doesn't do much, what with his laziness and easy-going life. He is big and quite strong, and loves king-sized meals, something that earned him his name (Papu Papu means "Pass the dish again, mate" in his native language).

KOMODO JOE

Alignment: EVIL Cold-hearted and cold-blooded, The Komodo Brothers are a dangerous duo and masters of the deadly Samurai swordplay. The brothers form a combination of brains and brawn, speed and strength, loyalty and leadership. He is usually the brains of the operation. While not physically powerful, he relies on speed and cunning in a fight.

KOMODO MOE

Alignment: EVIL Cold-hearted and cold-blooded, The Komodo Brothers are a dangerous duo and masters of the deadly Samurai swordplay. The brothers form a combination of brains and brawn, speed and strength, loyalty and leadership. He is not necessarily the most intelligent, but what he lacks in brain power, he makes up in size with unbelievable strength, and the force of a runaway freight train.

N. TRANCE

Alignment: EVIL N. Trance is an egg-shaped evil doer from the 5th Dimension. He is a friend of Dr. N. Tropy's with the ability to brainwash. Because of this, N. Tropy once called him to help getting rid of the bandicoots that always foil Uka Uka's plans. N. Trance brainwashed the bandicoots, but as Fake Crash was mistaken for Crash Bandicoot, the plan was doomed from the start.

BEARMINATOR

Alignment: EVIL The Bearminator is a huge polar bear wearing a blue captain's hat. During the 'good vs. evil' competition arranged by Aku Aku and Uka Uka, The Bearminator attacked with a submarine, sending projectiles and mechanical bears at others.

PENTA PENGUIN

Alignment: GOOD Penta is an ordinary penguin who got recognition for being a hidden character

ERNEST FARMER

Alignment: GOOD Ernest is a farmer who grows Wumpa trees, raises chickens, and participates in farmer markets. He lives in a small house behind the skull rock of N. Sanity Island and is friends with Crash Bandicoot.
