- DirectorPete DocterBob PetersonStarsEdward AsnerJordan NagaiJohn Ratzenberger78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway. This one is so sweet. A lot of plot holes, like how on earth is the Charles Muntz character still alive if he was like mid 20’s-early 30’s when Carl was like 8. STILL, you can easily overlook them because of how much heart the story has. “Adventure is out there!”
- DirectorLee UnkrichAdrian MolinaStarsAnthony GonzalezGael García BernalBenjamin BrattAspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.Hector, Hector, HECTOR. This movie is an emotional rollercoaster and it’s well told. The concept of life and death is tough but Pixar interprets it in a beautiful way with the help of Mexican culture. A must-see !
- DirectorJohn LasseterStarsTom HanksTim AllenDon RicklesA cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman action figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's bedroom. The one that started it all (for the Disney/Pixar partnership.) It’s funny and as I grew up it got funnier. These characters are staples of every 90’s kid’s childhood. A wonderful exploration of a child’s imagination and a celebration of childhood.
- DirectorBrad BirdJan PinkavaStarsBrad GarrettLou RomanoPatton OswaltA rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant. It’s a “follow your dreams” story told in a unique way that only Pixar could perfectly pull off. What better city to have it set in than Paris ? The food looks so good in this one lol
- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home. What I love about the Toy Story trilogy is that they aged Andy along with the target audience of the first 2 films. Regardless of age, the film brings viewers to tears but it hits close to home for kids born in 1990-1994. “Toy Story” should stay ending here, no part 4.
- DirectorAndrew StantonLee UnkrichStarsAlbert BrooksEllen DeGeneresAlexander GouldAfter his son is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney, a timid clownfish sets out on a journey to bring him home.So gorgeously animated. Each part of the ocean that Dory and Marlin explore is so vividly put together and beautifully realistic. Even the fish tank Nemo gets stuck in is pretty. The story is sweet as well.
- DirectorPete DocterDavid SilvermanLee UnkrichStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanMary GibbsIn order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, the children are toxic to the monsters, and after a child gets through, two monsters realize things may not be what they think. It’s funny and it’s unique. Boo is one of the most adorable characters of all time. Makes you laugh and cry.
- DirectorJohn LasseterAsh BrannonLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackWhen Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Buzz and his friends set out on a rescue mission to save Woody before he becomes a museum toy property with his roundup gang Jessie, Prospector, and Bullseye. The “When Somebody Loved Me” scene with Jessie still brings tears to my eyes. It’s the only sequel I’ve ever 100% liked. Just as funny as the first one.
- DirectorJohn LasseterJoe RanftStarsOwen WilsonBonnie HuntPaul NewmanOn the way to the biggest race of his life, a hotshot rookie race car gets stranded in a rundown town and learns that winning isn't everything in life.I don’t understand why this one gets bashed so much. I’ll admit McQueen is the absolute worst for a good amount of the movie, but the story is good and has a valuable lesson. The characters are quirky and memorable, Mater included. The Valley that Radiator Springs is set in is gorgeous. This was Paul Newman’s last film.
- DirectorAndrew StantonStarsBen BurttElissa KnightJeff GarlinIn the distant future, a small waste-collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind.A deep message that too many people still don’t listen to. What seems like just a cutesy love story between two robots goes much deeper. It has its slow moments, but it’s an overall masterpiece.
