Mini-Series. I haven't watched a lot of them. Watched only a bunch of really great ones. Most of those I did watch is HBO for now (surprising..?). Here's my top Mini-Series list.

This mini-series is really something special. Created by one of the industry's most amazing screen writers, Steven Zaillian, and Richard Price, a writer from The Wire, this show brings a fresh crime story from angles that we rarely see. The characters are so deeply developed and interesting, and it's all so perfectly made - directed entirely by Zaillian. Watch it. Now.

3. Show Me a Hero (2015)

Nick Wasicsko takes office as mayor of Yonkers in 1987 and has to face the issue of building public housing in the white, middle-class side of town.

From David Simon, co-creator of The Wire, comes a realistic (of course) biopic Mini-Series that you need to ease into, but once you're finished you know that you've just watched a masterpiece. The plot is great flows quickly, Paul Haggis directed it amazingly, great writing, good soundtrack, and an absolutely outstanding cast, casted by the amazing Alexa L. Fogel. Another good thing: the style really reminded my of The Wire.

4. Olive Kitteridge (2014)

TV-14 | 60 min | Drama

A middle-school math teacher Olive and her marriage with Henry which spans 25 years.

Stars: Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Ann Dowd, Ken Cheeseman

Votes: 26,107

Another great HBO Mini-Series, with great casting and writing. It's hardcore drama, so watch only if you're a fan of hardcore quality dramas.

5. The Night Manager (2016–2024)

TV-14 | 346 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery

The night manager of a Cairo hotel is recruited to infiltrate an arms dealer's inner circle.

6. Angels in America (2003)

Quality HBO war Mini-Series. Great battle scenes, great story and a highly impressive cast with... basically... everybody. From Damian Lewis, through Michael Fassbender and David Schwimmer, to Tom Hardy!

Votes: 99,288

9. Generation Kill (2008)

TV-MA | 10 min | Drama, War

A Rolling Stone reporter, embedded with The 1st Recon Marines chronicles his experiences during the first wave of the American-led assault on Baghdad in 2003.

Stars: Alexander Skarsgård, James Ransone, Lee Tergesen, Jon Huertas

Votes: 59,202

David Simon AND Ed Burns (creators of The Wire) again, this time in a realistic (what else?) war drama, with less bloody battle scenes and more drama in-between battles. With Alexander Skarsgård (watched this right after finishing True Blood) and Lee Tergesen, great cast.
