If the "A Song of Ice and Fire" books by George R.R Martin were made into a TV series

as Lord Eddard Stark. Val can pull off the nobility look pretty easily but he also has a rough edge reflective of Stark's history as a soldier. Easy choice.

as Daenerys Targaryen. When I was first introduced to the character I hardly envisioned anyone as fitting as Ashley. I have yet to see her in a soft passive role, which is how Dany starts, but if High School Musical and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody is anything to go by, there is a fire in her to pull of the Khaleesi with perfection.

as Khal Drogo. Ever since kicking ass in The Mummy I've always suspected there would be another role suited for Oded to kick more ass. He would own this role and take names in the process as the Dothraki warlord.

as Tyrion Lannister. Verne is one of the most popular types of those people, and I think he can pull off the wit and cunning of one of my favourite characters from the series.

as Cersei Lannister. Let's be honest. Cersei is a huuuge bitch, but there is all that emotion that underlies her manipulative and deceitful ways. Drew was my first choice, Reese Witherspoon a close second.

as Joffrey Baratheon. I won't spoil the secret, but HJO would definitely pull off being Drew Barrymore's son. Although he may be a little older than his character, HJO's boyish good looks that he's retained from sixth sense would serve him well.

as Catelyn Tully. As the Stark family's wife and mother, Susan fits that family-first mould since she's so old and has a family herself that she loves. There is also that Tully heritage that she so nobly represents which Susan could pull off like nothing.

as Robb Stark. Been a while since he was on the scene, but what a way it would be for him to get back on the horse. Lighten up his complexion and I think he could do well as the proud Stark son, and eventually, THE KING OF THE NORTH! Him and Val also look eerily similar... hmmm

as Sansa Stark. The naiveté of Sansa annoys throughout the books and I think Abigail is young enough to know how that goes (in New Years Eve she shows it well) but she also has the experience to show some maturity for this role.

as Jaime Lannister. Already well-versed in playing characters from epics, Sean Bean's Jaime could be the wild card for the show. Bean does villainy well too.

as Viserys Targaryen. Such a slimy and arrogant piece of crap. Jackson hasn't much of a resume, but this could be a break-out role for him if portrayed how I imagined.

as Jorah Mormont. Already popular in TV through CSI: Miami, this would be a welcome switch-up that I think Caruso could work well with. The worldly knowledge of Jorah could be seen through David's eyes.

as Sandor Clegane. A renowned hard man, Jones has the build and look to provoke the dark nature of The Hound.

as Gregor Clegane. The Undertaker as The Mountain is hand to glove.

as Robert Baratheon. Under-rated actor because people can't see past his amazing power ballads, Meat Loaf can be gruff but also humorous enough to play Robert. He also has a build fit for a gluttonous pig of a king.

as Stannis Baratheon. Stannis is described as being skilled in the art of war, something John C. McGinley is somewhat familiar with after being in Platoon. There's also a directness in Stannis seen in McGinley's Mr. Cox from Scrubs.

as Renly Baratheon. No offence meant but Piven has a sunny disposition about him that can carry onto this role.

as Varys. Having already played a eunuch in Year One (hilarious) Kyle Gass could come into this role ready to go. Being the Master of Whisperers is a dimension he could also take on as he is back up vocals for Tenacious D where he is barely audible in their songs.

as Samwell Tarly. Samwell is described as being fat and pale.

as Lord Petyr Baelish. Jim is from The Wire, a well-known TV series held in high regard. By having him on board it could draw a following from that show. He also looks secretive enough to be Littlefinger.

as Rickon Stark. If you are familiar with this young talent you would say nothing but "Chyeah!" to this choice, as would I.

as Hodor. Okay so this may be the most difficult casting choice as he has already departed (RIP) but I feel he'd be so perfect and riveting for this part because, like Hodor, he is known for his warmth and bigness. I think with modern technologies able to manipulate old footage [This is exampled in Sky Captain with the use of Laurence Olivier] there'd be a way to have scenes work, especially because Hodor will barely have any screen time with such a minor part played in the book. It'd be simple but effective green screen work that maybe WETA? could be involved in, and Hey Presto! our old mate John Candy is back as if he never left us in the 90s. I imagine the reception being akin to fans seeing the ghost of Tupac at Coachella
