Personal Favourite
A list capturing my favourite movies in order of how much I enioyed them. Production value, cultural significance, and popularity are not put into account.
I tried to not put more than one film of a genre or by a certain director in order to keep the list diverse, otherwise it'd just be a list of Kubrick and Fincher films.

- DirectorDanny BoyleLoveleen TandanStarsDev PatelFreida PintoSaurabh ShuklaA teenager from the slums of Mumbai becomes a contestant on the show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati?' When interrogated under suspicion of cheating, he revisits his past, revealing how he had all the answers.Yeah, it feels cheesy the first half an hour, but once you get over that the film gets unbelievably epic. I never wanted the good guys to win so badly in my life. Seeing the evolution of India is also cool.
- DirectorMarc ForsterStarsWill FerrellEmma ThompsonDustin HoffmanI.R.S. auditor Harold Crick suddenly finds his mundane Chicago life to be the subject of narration only he can hear: narration that begins to affect his entire existence, from his work to his love life to his death.Yeah, I'm sure no one would think so much about this film, but I guess it just hit me the right way. I never felt so attached to a protagonist and the script, cinematography, acting, and music just feels perfect to me. The subject matter, the inevitability of death, is also interesting.
Indisputably Ferrell's best film. - DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsUma ThurmanDavid CarradineMichael MadsenThe Bride continues her quest of vengeance against her former boss and lover Bill, the reclusive bouncer Budd, and the treacherous, one-eyed Elle.Kill Bill Volume 1 and 2 together. Since I cannot put them together, I put this one as my preferred Kill Bill.
Out of Tarantino's revenge trilogy (Basterds, Django, and Kill Bill), this is my personal favourite. I love it over those films by a long-shot just because of how epic it feels. After all, it runs over five hours. - DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsAaron Taylor-JohnsonNicolas CageChloë Grace MoretzDave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a superhero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.This movie is weird. When I finished watching it I didn't know how to feel. Hit-Girl and Nicholas Cage just came across as brutal murders. But unlike other critics I looked for meaning in their actions. And there was... it's all a beautiful statement about how the only way real heroes can work in real life is through violence. Nothing get's done through nobility (as Kick-Ass demonstrates).
The best "anti-hero" movie. - DirectorAdam McKayStarsWill FerrellChristina ApplegatePaul RuddWith the 1970s behind him, Ron Burgundy, San Diego's former top-rated newsreader, returns to take New York City's first twenty-four-hour news channel by storm.Sorry, but my favourite comedy of all time. No one will ever agree with me on this, but I think this one kicks the originals ass.
The acting is way better than the first (it's more over the top and stupid than ever).
The story is more dynamic (he's got a family now). The political satire is unrivaled (CNN...).. There's even more celebrity cameos, etc...
The only thing the original has is nostalgia value. - 19641h 35mPG8.4 (519K)97MetascoreDirectorStanley KubrickStarsPeter SellersGeorge C. ScottSterling HaydenAn unhinged American general orders a bombing attack on the Soviet Union, triggering a path to nuclear holocaust that a war room full of politicians and generals frantically tries to stop.I'm sure no one will ever agree on the best Kubrick film, but this is my favourite. Followed by 2001: A Space Odyssey and Clockwork Orange.
- DirectorGeorge LucasStarsMark HamillHarrison FordCarrie FisherLuke Skywalker joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a Wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire's world-destroying battle station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the mysterious Darth Vader. The best Star Wars film! This goes so high on my list due to childhood bias.
Empire Strikes Back is my second favourite, Return of the Jedi my third (I don't care what anyone says, the Ewok thing is totally possible).
RedLetterMedia can tell you why I will not mention the prequels. - DirectorMichel GondryStarsJim CarreyKate WinsletTom WilkinsonWhen their relationship turns sour, a couple undergoes a medical procedure to have each other erased from their memories forever.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsTom HanksRobin WrightGary SiniseThe history of the United States from the 1950s to the '70s unfolds from the perspective of an Alabama man with an IQ of 75, who yearns to be reunited with his childhood sweetheart.
- DirectorPeter WeirStarsJim CarreyEd HarrisLaura LinneyAn insurance salesman discovers his whole life is actually a reality TV show.
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them, but Erik's vengeful pursuit of an ambitious mutant who ruined his life causes a schism to divide them.My favourite all time super-hero film. I loved the Cold War setting and politics, as well as how the film focused on the always interesting relationship of Xavier and Magneto over introducing as many primary and secondary characters as possible.
- DirectorDavid FincherStarsBrad PittEdward NortonMeat LoafAn insomniac office worker and a devil-may-care soap maker form an underground fight club that evolves into much more.My favourite Fincher movie with The Social Network.
- DirectorPete DocterBob PetersonStarsEdward AsnerJordan NagaiJohn Ratzenberger78-year-old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his house equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway.Actually made me shed a tear, probably the best Pixar film.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsChris PineZachary QuintoZoe SaldanaAfter the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.I liked it, it was an amazing film. I have no idea why JJ Abrams ruined it with Spock's cameo and super blood, but the film is definitely redeemed by everything else!
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsDaniel CraigEva GreenJudi DenchAfter earning 00 status and a licence to kill, secret agent James Bond sets out on his first mission as 007. Bond must defeat a private banker funding terrorists in a high-stakes game of poker at Casino Royale, Montenegro.Best Bond film... too bad Daniel Craig hasn't gotten a good sequel.
- DirectorAlbert HughesAllen HughesStarsDenzel WashingtonMila KunisRay StevensonA drifter fights his way across a ravaged, post-apocalyptic America while protecting a sacred book that holds the secrets to humanity's salvation. An awesome underrated film, complete with a dystopian setting, awesome gun and sword fights, and some of the best villains I've ever seen.

- DirectorRoberto BenigniStarsRoberto BenigniNicoletta BraschiGiorgio CantariniWhen an open-minded Jewish waiter and his son become victims of the Holocaust, he uses a perfect mixture of will, humor and imagination to protect his son from the dangers around their camp.
