Director: Gary Ross | Stars: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci

Votes: 1,003,309 | Gross: $408.01M

Quite honestly i was shocked this movie was made after seeing the Japanese movie Battle Royale Ten years earlier. I've seen debate after debate on this but honestly its plagiarism at its worst. The only way you'd debate this is if you believe in the saying "the first book you pick up is the first book you believe in" meaning which bible. You saw The hunger games before battle royale loved it and am now a fanboy or girl. so you debate.

2. Pacific Rim (2013)

PG-13 | 131 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

65 Metascore

Votes: 530,637 | Gross: $101.80M

This Movie was very hard to watch just Jaw Dropping astounding at how it was plagiarized. Just like the hunger games, if you've been a long time anime fan/international movie fan youll know this movie has tons of plagiarism. I was in a theater watching the previews before catching the Avengers movie, Pacific Rim came on screen and the people to the left of me thought it was the game "Portal" as the computer voice was just that, the portal voice copied from the videogame. The people in front of me said "Godzilla?". My thought process went automatically to Neon Genesis Evangelion; A movie series in which people get into giant robots and fight unknown species called angels. This movie was a white Males messed up fantasy period. why do i say that? The fact the main character is white? no not just that. The world has gone to crap and there and militaries around the globe have united in China to fight these demons. The white male fights off all the Chinese fighters in the dojo scene victoriously, (yeah because no Chinese guy that lives in the heart of martial arts could take down this guy) , There is one Japanese person a girl stereotypically affiliated with a black guy as her father figure. Your to tell me no Chinese people using a Robot in this movie just all of the Chinese scared and hiding underground? One of the most technologically advanced countries in the world... really.. Anyhow the white guy saves the day, gets the shy Japanese girl and saves humanity. Sounds like a white Anime fanboy dream to me. It is just that, A movie someone dreamed up, put onto a script had all the white and black guys go to Asia to save everyone taken from 3 movies rolled into one. This might be the worst plagiarized movie ever.

Votes: 923,756 | Gross: $38.40M

Plagiarism was pretty obvious after the payoff to Harlan Ellison for his Outer Limits script Soldier. He was credited at the end of the movie and made an huge undisclosed amount of cash.

4. The Matrix (1999)

Director: David Soren | Stars: Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Maya Rudolph, Samuel L. Jackson

Votes: 110,607 | Gross: $83.03M

I did enjoy the movie for what it was worth, im sure we all thought the same thing though, yeah the movie cars just a decade before it, or how about herbie the love bug before that. Turbo was alright, with the over stereotypical minorities as part of the cast and a snail that dreamed of being in the Indy 500..... really? A very strange concept not a bad movie but it reminded you of so many past movies.

8. Cars (2006)

G | 116 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy

Votes: 469,571 | Gross: $244.08M

As we are on the subject, Cars is a ripoff of Herbie amongst other movies. Its a great movie, but still a ripoff.

Votes: 2,157

Remember this movie? no? yeah i wouldn't think you would. Whoopi somehow gets pulled into the past with her laptop and impresses king arthur's court with her modern day ways. Sound like "A kid in king arthurs court" 1995? You could go back a step further to "unidentified flying oddball made in 1979, where an Astronaut and his robot time travel to again king Arther and Camelot. yup way overdone.

Votes: 4,924 | Gross: $0.22M

Ok this isnt a Hollywood film but what list wouldn't be complete with at least mentioning Bollywood. The most plagirism movies of all time come from Bollywood. Name a Hollywood movie and they pretty much have it covered, remade, and relabeled, same story, plot and well just all around plagiarized. Check out a list http://pranshu.hubpages.com/hub/a-complete-list-of-bollywood-movies-copied-from-hollywood-plain-plagiarism

Director: James Cameron | Stars: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez

Votes: 1,385,998 | Gross: $760.51M

Everyone claims Avatar is taken from so many sources, well they are right. Romeo and juliet, Pocahontas, Dune, etc etc. The one thing that gets me though is the flying land masses, Thats been around forever, cities in the sky, waterfalls etc all broken off around the world. Well that one can be defended by everyone that has used that, from countless videogames all the to the begining. Countless books, neverending story to Dragon hunters. I woulndt call that stolen just overused. Also look at Timespirits an 80s comic, the blue avatars look exactly like the creatures pictured in that comic.

12. Alien (1979)

89 Metascore

The crew of a commercial spacecraft encounters a deadly lifeform after investigating a mysterious transmission of unknown origin.

Director: Ridley Scott | Stars: Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, John Hurt, Veronica Cartwright

Votes: 949,927 | Gross: $78.90M

Ok now this went wrong in all kinds of ways. First off this movie was stolen from the main Writer Dan O'Bannon who originally called this movie Dark Star. He composed 29 pages of travelers being intercepted by a signal on a planet. He wrote the chest bursting scene. But ultimately fox took his idea and without his knowledge re-wrote the entire script, names of characters, everything except the main plot and the alien coming out of the chest. He didnt even get to sit in the audience during the premiere, he had to sit with the projectionist as he was not allowed inside. Also fox was sued by AE Van Vogt "voyage of the space beagle" For the similarities between his alien and the one used in the movie, Fox Settled out of court for a huge sum.

Votes: 652,622 | Gross: $285.76M

Home alone is a copy of the Movie Game over, where a kid defends his grandpa's home against and evil santa clause using toys he uses as traps and weapons around the house. The creator of Game over sued Fox but to no avail.

Director: George P. Cosmatos | Stars: Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Charles Napier, Steven Berkoff

Votes: 182,412 | Gross: $150.42M

Yup, Rambo is a complete knockoff of another knockoff. A year before this movie was made Chuck norris went to save captured POWs in vietnam just like in this movie and a year before Missing in action was the movie Uncommon Valor with gene hackman, yet again another movie going into vietnam saving POWs.

15. The Fast and the Furious (2001)

Votes: 419,358 | Gross: $144.53M

Fast and the furious vs Point Break. An Fbi agent has to get into an underground sports competitors trust to figure out a bunch of robberies. The Fbi agent befriends the leader , falls for a girl thats close to the gang leader, doesnt know the gang is responsible for the robberies, He eventually turns agaist his new found friends and lets the Gang leader escape at the end. Hmmm same story completely.

Votes: 211,524 | Gross: $145.79M

Love this movie!, unfortunately its copied from Max from "sam and max" the comic from the 1980s, looks the same , shark mouth, eyes wide apart, stubby arms, has a gun, loveable but dangerous. you get the idea, the only difference is stitch is in space and hes blue.

Directors: Chris Wedge, Carlos Saldanha | Stars: Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Ray Romano, Goran Visnjic

Votes: 518,922 | Gross: $176.39M

This reminds me of south park when people were taking claim for Tray parker and matt stones work, except Fox this time does what untalented artists do and copy someone elses work. Just like what happened with the blackberry phone and windshield wipers, Fox was introduced to a character known as SQRAT a squirrel with an acorn registered trademark of Ivy Silberstein in 1999, Ivy brought Sqrat to fox and other networks only to find that they didnt have much interest. Until Fox released Ice Age in 2002 with the loveable character known as Scrat (the squirrel with the acorn). Ivy as she should have sued Fox for stealing her character, but it was dismissed over the very small varietion of differences such as the teeth shape, name, oh what the hell, its the same Character!

Director: James Cameron | Stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates

Votes: 1,279,606 | Gross: $659.33M

Again you could say this copied from romeo and juliet a bit, but the most argued plagiarized mention is that of Aladdin from Disney. The similarities were not just the visuals but the actual lines just reused in Titinic. A guy from the slums that falls in love with a much wealthier girl. Holding her arms out on the front of the titanic just like Jasmin putting her arms out on the magic carpet ride. Jack asking rose if she trusts him / same as Aladdin to Jasmin. Also both female leads feeling trapped in their wealthy lives.

Director: Steven Spielberg | Stars: Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Paul Freeman, John Rhys-Davies

Votes: 1,036,559 | Gross: $248.16M

Indy's entire look was taken from Charlton Heston in a movie called Secret of the Incas. Not only that but many of the scenes like the wall scrolls and let there be light with the mirrors was also copied. Lucas and Spielberg admit to watching that movie many times before making Indiana Jones. Strangely they did not credit the movie they stole from.

Votes: 978,429 | Gross: $289.92M

As soon as i saw this movie it reminded me of my childhood watching the movie "Little monsters" with Fred Savage and Howie Mandel. A movie about monsters that come out under your bed while you sleep and scare you.

Votes: 257,286 | Gross: $65.42M

I watched the first maybe, maaaaybe 15 minutes of this and shut it off right after i watched a guy break into a convenience store to get a girl a burrito. Stolen, ridiculously from an old Thief video that went viral everywhere many many years ago. The original video was of a guy breaking into a what looked ot be liquor store and falling through the roof and kept trying to get out but he couldn't it was hilarious but watching a remade version of a theft tape on the big screen was beyond painful. shameful director, crap movie.

Votes: 1,105,997 | Gross: $44.02M

Just one major scene really, one of the most iconic in horror visuals. The scene where Jack chops up the door and pokes his head threw. yeah that had already been done before in a silent movie called The Phantom Carriage. The messed up thing about this you wouldn't think it was a big deal until you watch the Phantom carriage and the shining side by side, the camera did everything the first movie did shot for shot. Now that's plagiarism at its best.

31. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

PG-13 | 143 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
