One of the earlier films of 2013, but it held up all year and is still in my top 10. Mud is an official release in 2013, even though it says 2012. Perhaps, the best Si-Fi since Star Wars. And it's amazing that a film with only 2 performers is so great. Yet, a film with 25 actors may not be so good. I wonder if a movie franchise ever was awarded an Oscar twice in a row, one after the other. Did Star Wars? Indiana Jones? Did they ever receive double awards? Does this make any sense? Why am I asking so many questions? (Please stand by)

Holy $@^& this movie is freaky. James Wan gives us a scare we won't soon forget. Original? Not necessarily. But nonetheless Wan makes the scariest movie since Insidious. The only thing is, I have a hard time believing if the event was true. Seems like a lot of movies are based off of true stories, or events. I wonder how true it really is?

We've seen kidnapping movies a thousand times before. However, Prisoners delivers a unique twist on that. In fact, it is better then a lot of movies about kidnapping. It contends with Taken as the best kidnapping film in recent times. And, man! Jackman is unstoppable. What is with him these days. He had completely turned his career around. The first time is saw him, he was voicing in Flushed Away. Now he is in Wolverine, and now this. Tom Hanks this year gives us a one-two punch. First with Captain Phillips, and second with Saving Mr. Banks. Have you noticed that Hanks is now in two movies that start with "Saving", huh? Saving Private Ryan, and now this. The irony. Who is Mr. Banks anyway?
However, great film and it's not all Hanks. Thompson is stellar, and deserves a nom from the Oscars. - DirectorDan ScanlonStarsBilly CrystalJohn GoodmanSteve BuscemiA look at the relationship between Mike Wazowski and James P. Leo's best film since...well, last years Django Unchained. It just shows that DiCaprio is great every year. I don't thank he has stumped yet. The work by Scorsese is outstanding, making this his best work in recent times. He reminds us yet again why he is one of the best in the business. - DirectorJohn KrokidasStarsDaniel RadcliffeDane DeHaanMichael C.
