I rarely proclaim favorites of any kind, and this TV show took the spot. It's much more than a cartoon or anime. For one, it hybridizes American and Japanese animation into prime visual aesthetics. The show is much more than the lines and the color, it's the writing and the themes.
Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko build characters on paper like Michelangelo brings personality to stone! The dynamics between all of the characters, even the animals, is a perfect equilibrium that perfectly adjusts in the progression of the series. The writers use the wide innocent eyes of children to tackle the timeless social, cultural issues.
A great show that I cannot recommend enough to people that are open minded and willing to give it a try. It is sure to please!
