- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsUlla JacobssonEva DahlbeckHarriet AnderssonIn Sweden at the turn of the century, members of the upper class and their servants find themselves in a romantic tangle that they try to work out amidst jealousy and heartbreak. This is comedy and it's Bergman. It's excelent because it touches deeper themes that are not nescescarely happy in a lighthearted way and makes you feel good in the procces. It's not excactly a laugh out loud comedy but one that can possibly make you smile and feel good (Resonates perfect with the title: "Smiles of a summernight"). And in my opinion it does have a happy ending (though people will disagree).
- StarsLiv UllmannErland JosephsonBibi AnderssonTen years within the marriage of Marianne and Johan.I've only seen the theatrical version and heard that the TV version is better. I think I'll watch the TV version one day.
- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsMax von SydowBirgitta ValbergGunnel LindblomIn 14th-century Sweden, an innocent yet pampered teenage girl and her family's pregnant and jealous servant set out from their farm to deliver candles to church, but only one returns from events that transpire in the woods along the way. This is one of Bergman's most straightforward movies and it works so wonderfully well. Just watch it. It's really simple but just as powerfull.

Ester becomes seriously ill and the three of them move into a hotel in a small town called Timoka.Needs a rewatch. I had different expectations when I first watched it. I think I will like it better on a rewatch.

- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsÅke GrönbergHarriet AnderssonHasse EkmanThe complicated relationships between a circus ringmaster, his estranged wife and his lover.Bergmans plays with different techniques and compositions. I love the mirror compositions and the silent segment. A must watch for a Bergman fan. I could see how I would rank this higher in the future.
- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsRobert AtzornChristine BucheggerMartin BenrathAn account of the events before and after a murder committed by a disturbed businessman in a strained marriage, and what led him to perform such a shocking act.

- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsLiv UllmannErland JosephsonBörje AhlstedtMarianne, some thirty years after divorcing Johan, decides to visit her ex-husband at his summer home. She arrives in the middle of a family drama between Johan's son from another marriage and his granddaughter. If Swedes get things like that on TV they are truly lucky. It serves as a perfect conclusion for Bergman's career.
- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsMaj-Britt NilssonBirger MalmstenAlf KjellinA lonely woman recalls her first love thirteen years prior during a brief summer vacation."For me Summer Interlude is one of my most important films. Even though to an outsider it may seem terribly passé, for me it isn't. This was my first film in which I felt I was functioning independently, with a style of my own, making a film all my own, with a particular appearance of its own, which no one could ape. It was like no other film. It was all my own work. Suddenly I knew I was putting the camera on the right spot, getting the right results; that everything added up. For sentimental reasons, too, it was also fun making it." - Ingmar Bergman
It feels like the better version of Summer with Monika. - DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsLiv UllmannMax von SydowSigge FürstIn the midst of a civil war, former violinists Jan and Eva Rosenberg, who have a tempestuous marriage, run a farm on a rural island. In spite of their best efforts to escape their homeland, the war impinges on every aspect of their lives. This movie is really good. It does not suffer from any real problems and you should absolutely watch it. It's different from most other Bergman movies. Much is happening and there's not that much talk (compared to the others). It's an investigation of humans during war. I think non Bergman fans would like this too.
It got a fantastic atmosphere and great performances. Liv Ullman, Max von Sydow and Gunnar Björnstrand are my favorite Bergman actors. This movie got two of those in the lead roles. - DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsDoris SvedlundBirger MalmstenEva HenningA film director tries to create the best film in history, but finds out that human abilities have their limits. It's an extremely ambitious project. Especially for a director that just started out.
- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsErland JosephsonIngrid ThulinLena OlinAs an aging playwright interacts with the young lead in his play after everybody's gone home, he reminisces about her mother, whom he maintained a sexual relationship with before she died.Stellar acting by all three actors involved
- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsUlrik ColdJosef KöstlingerIrma UrrilaThe story of the prince Tamino and his zestful sidekick Papageno, who are sent on a mission to save a beautiful princess from the clutches of evil. The cinematography and set design is incredible.
- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsHarriet AnderssonLars EkborgDagmar EbbesenA pair of teenagers meet one summer day, start a reckless affair and abandon their families to be with one another. It doesn't really feel like a Bergman film. There is not that much talking in here but more action. I really liked the idea and the script is alright too (though not as well written as most other Bergmans). But I didn't like the performance from the male lead. That was the weakest lead performance I've ever seen in a Bergman movie. Also there is alot of beautifull footage from nature and I really liked that.
- DirectorIngmar BergmanStarsMaj-Britt NilssonStig OlinBirger MalmstenTwo violinists playing in the same orchestra fall in love and get married, but they can't get along.
