Schoolhouse Rock! (1973) is an American series of animated and musical educational short films that aired during the Saturday morning children's programming on the U.S. television network ABC. The topics covered included grammar, science, economics, history, mathematics and civics. The series' original run lasted from 1973 to 1985.
Bob Dorough, who wrote and sang many of the songs, including all of Multiplication Rock, has recently passed away at the age of 94. Starting in the 1950s in the jazz scene, Dorough worked closely with Miles Davis before starting Schoolhouse Rock in 1973. He was still performing live as late as three weeks before his death.
