These are some of my favorite to least favorite writers that work on Family Guy. Only writers that had written at least four episodes.

1. Mark Hentemann

Producer | Family Guy

Mark Hentemann was born on April 24, 1969 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He is a producer and actor, known for Family Guy (1999), Run of the House (2003) and Off Centre (2001).

He wrote a few of my favorite episodes. He also created 3 South and Bordertown. Both are okay I guess but they don't hold up to his Family Guy work that much.

Honestly he's no longer the best writer on the show. His episodes are usually not on the perfect side due changing my opinions on a few episodes. If you ask me, he actually got better after his first few episodes. Anyway, here are my rankings of his episodes (I'm doing this for those written most than 4 episodes):

"The Kiss Seen Around the World" (7/10) "Stuck Together, Torn Apart" (9/10) "Brian the Bachelor" (8/10) "Jungle Love" (7/10) "Stewie Loves Lois" (10/10) "The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou" (8.5/10) "Meet the Quagmires" (10/10) "Baby Not On Board" (8.5/10) "Family Goy" (6/10) "The Splendid Source" (10/10) "Back to the Pilot" (10/10) "Amish Guy" (8/10) "Yug Ylimaf" (9/10) "Baking Bad" (8.5/10) Overall score: 8.5/10

2. Julius Sharpe

Writer | Dads

Julius Sharpe is known for Dads (2013), Family Guy (1999) and Making History (2017).

I'm somewhat blind to most of these episodes without knowing the fact that they're aren't that well liked. He's isn't any different than most new writers but I think his FG episodes are enjoyable to me aside from some problems.

You Can't Do That On Television, Peter (8/10) Joe's Revenge (9/10) Into Harmony's Way (8/10) He's Bl-ack! (8.5/10) Overall score: 8.3/10

3. Mike Barker

Writer | American Dad!

Mike Barker was born on June 7, 1968 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is a writer and producer, known for American Dad! (2005), Family Guy (1999) and Off Centre (2001).

Before American Dad!, Mike did some episodes of Family Guy. To be honest, their episode's plots weren't the best but they were still good writers.

A Hero Sits Next Door (8/10) Love Thy Trophy (8/10) Let's Go the Hop (8/10) Dammit Janet! (7.5/10) Wasted Talent (9.5/10) And the Wiener Is... (8/10) Peter Griffin: Husband, Father...Brother? (9/10) From Method to Madness (8.5/10) Overall: 8.3/10

4. Matt Weitzman

Producer | Family Guy

Matt Weitzman was born on November 13, 1967 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Family Guy (1999), American Dad! (2005) and Off Centre (2001).

5. Ken Goin

Writer | Family Guy

Born in San Francisco, he grew up in San Jose, CA attending Silver Creek High School. Ken went on to graduate from New York University with a degree in Film and Television. He pursued work in the independent film industry in both the Bay Area and Seattle, WA before moving to Los Angeles. He is ...

I liked all of Ken and David's episodes. Actually he did one episode with David in the beginning of the revival era. Collard would be ranked the same with a slightly different ratings. It's hard to describe their distinct writing.

Wasted Talent: (9.5/10) Emission Impossible: (10/10) Screwed the Pooch: (9/10) Fast Times at Buddy Cianci Jr High: (8/10) Overall score: 9.1/10

6. Patrick Meighan

Producer | Family Guy

Patrick Meighan was born on July 27, 1972 in Bellingham, Washington, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Family Guy (1999), Dumb and Dumber To (2014) and Titus (2000).

I think he's a good writer. Some of his plots depends. It can be great like the crossover with the Simpsons but there's a couple missteps.

8 Simple Rules for Buying My Teenage Daughter (9/10) Peterotica (8/10) Road to Rupert (9/10) No Chris Left Behind (8.5/10) Road to Germany (8/10) 420 (8/10) "Quagmire's Baby" (8/10) "Excellence in Broadcasting" (6/10) "German Guy" (2/10) "Thanksgiving" (7.5/10) "Tea Peter" (8.5/10) "Farmer Guy" (5.5/10) "Christmas Guy" (8/10) "The Simpsons Guy" (10/10) "Peter, Chris, & Brian" (8/10) Overall score: 7.6/10

7. Danny Smith

Producer | Family Guy

Danny Smith is known for Family Guy (1999), Ted (2012) and Grown Ups (2017).

I'm glad he's been with the show for a long time since he is from Rhode Island. Though he's a little old for writing. Of course, knowing how long he been on the show, he's bond to make duds. He tend to make religious themed episodes (in fact, Peter's not so real dad appeared in his episodes where he's a plot point).

Chitty Chitty Death Bang (10/10) Holy Crap (7/10) A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas (10/10) Peter's Got Woods (8/10) The Father, the Son, and the Holy Fonz (8/10) Peter's Two Dads (8.5/10) Play It Again, Brian (8/10) Not All Dogs Go To Heaven (4/10) "Partial Terms of Endearment" (8/10) "Road to the North Pole" (with Chris Sheridan) (7/10) "Livin' on a Prayer" (5/10) "Lois Comes Out of Her Shell" (8/10) "Meg Stinks!" (10/10) "Papa Has A Rollin' Son" (7.5/10) "Road to India" (8/10) Overall score: 7.8/10

8. Andrew Goldberg

Producer | Big Mouth

Andrew Goldberg was born on March 17, 1978 in White Plains, New York, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Big Mouth (2017), Family Guy (1999) and Human Resources (2022).

WOW! What happened to this writer? He showed some potential, but I guess he screwed up way too early with the OJ Episode, so he got worse as his work goes on. A shame because because his episodes were kind of funny. Sadly they were too infamous.

Believe It or Not, Joe's Walking on Air (9/10) The Juice Is Loose (3.5/10) "Business Guy" (with Alex Carter) (9/10) "Dial Meg for Murder" (with Alex Carter) (10/10) "Halloween on Spooner Street" (9.5/10) "Lottery Fever" (6.5/10) "The Giggity Wife" (3/10) "Herpe, the Love Sore" (4/10) "Roasted Guy" (3/10) Overall score: 6.3/10

9. Mike Henry

Actor | Family Guy

Mike Henry is an actor, comedian, writer, and producer. Michael "Mike" Henry was born on November 7, 1965, in Pontiac, Michigan and grew up in Richmond, Virginia. He is best known for his work on Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, American Dad, Ted, and The Orville. His most popular voice characters ...

Aside from voice acting, Mike Henry's writing is great. I can't believe his best and worst episode I seen were his first and last, respectively.

Death Lives (10/10) Fish Out of Water (9/10) The Cleveland Loretta Quagmire (8.5/10) Patriot Games (8/10) No Wheels on Meal (8/10) Love Blactually (5.5/10) OVerall score: 8.1/10

10. John Viener

Actor | Family Guy

John Viener was born on July 10, 1972 in New York City, New York, USA. He is an actor and producer, known for Family Guy (1999), Ted (2012) and Dads (2013).

He's a heck a lot better when he's writing because I get tired of hearing his voicework all the time. Either way, he's still funny as evident in his writing. Although he kinda suffer a bit by making characters too mean spirited at times.

"The Perfect Castaway" (7.5/10) "Untitled Griffin Family History" (9.5/10) "Movin' Out (Brian's Song)" (6/10) "The Man with Two Brians" (10/10) "Jerome Is the New Black" (4/10) "April in Quahog" (5.5/10) "Tiegs for Two" (7/10) Overall score: 7/10

11. Ricky Blitt

Writer | Loudermilk

Ricky Blitt is known for Loudermilk (2017), Family Guy (1999) and The Ringer (2005).

I'll say I liked the episode since seasons 1-3 didn't had any bad one. He was only on the show for the first two seasons production code wise so he didn't last long.

The Son Also Draws (7.5/10) Death is a Bitch (10/10) There's Something About Paulie (9/10) Mr Griffin Goes to Washington (8.5/10) When You Wish Upon a Weinstein (8.5/10) Overall score: 8.7/10

12. Neil Goldman

Producer | Scrubs

Neil Goldman is known for Scrubs (2001), Community (2009) and Shrinking (2023).

Not that Neil Goldman, the (emphasis) writer himself. He and Garrett Donovan did a couple of classic.

Mind over Murder (8.5/10) Da Boom (9.5/10) Running Mates (8/10) E Peterbus Urum (9/10) Overall score: 8.7/10

13. Garrett Donovan

Producer | Scrubs

Garrett Donovan is known for Scrubs (2001), Community (2009) and Superior Donuts (2017).

He and Neil Goldman did a couple of classic.

Mind over Murder (8.5/10) Da Boom (9.5/10) Running Mates (8/10) E Peterbus Urum (9/10) Overall score: 8.7/10

14. Alec Sulkin

Producer | Ted 2

Alec Sulkin was born on February 14, 1973 in the USA. He is a producer and actor, known for Ted 2 (2015), Family Guy (1999) and Ted (2012).

He's funny, but conversational at the same time. I laugh at some of his tweets. Better than Wellesley Wild for a reason. He does had his problems writing serious stuffs like domestic violence.

Petarded (with Wellesley Wild) (9.5/10) PTV (with Wellesley Wild) (10/10) Petergeist (with Wellesley Wild) (8.5/10) Chick Cancer (with Wellesley Wild) (8/10) Blue Harvest (8/10) Stew-Roids (8/10) Three Kings (8.5/10) Spies Reminiscent of Us (7/10) And I'm Joyce Kinney (6/10) Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q. (3/10) Family Guy Viewer Mail No. 2 (co-writer) (???) Into Fat Air (9/10) Grimm Job (8/10) Overall score: 7.1/10 3 Acts of God (8/10)

15. Alex Carter

Producer | Family Guy

Alex Carter is known for Family Guy (1999), Zoo P.D and Bordertown (2016).

He's actually not a bad of a writer, but like most newer writers, he does his problems in writing. Sadly he ended up being better than Andrew Goldberg (only comparable because they were paired up for one season).

Tales of a Third Grade Nothing (8/10) Business Guy (with Andrew Goldberg) (9/10) Dial Meg for Murder (with Andrew Goldberg) (10/10) Baby, You Knock Me Out (7/10) Brothers & Sisters (9/10) Tom Tucker: The Man and His Dream (6/10) Space Cadet (8.5/10) Life of Brian (6/10) Stewie, Chris & Brian's Excellent Adventure (8/10) Overall score: 7.9/10

Cherry Chevapravatdumrong was born on December 1, 1977 in Columbus, Ohio, USA. She is a producer and writer, known for Resident Alien (2021), Family Guy (1999) and Joy Ride (2023).

Known for her very long last name, Cherry actually uses that as joke on Family Guy. Her real name is Cherry Cheva. Her episodes are kinda unique in a way people like to talk about her.

"Sibling Rivalry" (9/10) "Saving Private Brian" (10/10) "Prick Up Your Ears" (7/10) "Boys Do Cry" (8/10) "Ocean's Three and a Half" (9.5/10) "We Love You, Conrad" (6/10) "Hannah Banana" (8/10) "And Then There Were Fewer" (8.5/10) "It's A Trap!" He is currently a writer and Executive Producer of Fox's hit TV ...

While I'm glad that Chris been working with the show for a very long, I think he should leave, because his episodes are gonna worse and worse. His writing had changed the most. He went from an awesome writer to a weak-ass writer in a span of 17 years.

I Never Met the Dead Man (9/10) Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater (10/10) I Am Peter, Hear Me Roar (9/10) If I'm Dyin', I'm Lyin' (7/10) He's Too Sexy for His Fat (10/10) Lethal Weapons (9/10) The Fat Guy Strangler (10/10) Stewie B. 18. Steve Callaghan

Producer | Family Guy

Steve Callaghan was born on November 14, 1968 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is a producer and actor, known for Family Guy (1999), Ted 2 (2015) and Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story (2005).

Like Chris Sheridan, I lost a bit of respect in Steve when he did the worst episode ever to many people. I am glad he's the most prolific writer, but he should need to write better episode than Fresh Heir. I hope he stay, unlike Chris. His writing is somewhat easy to tell since he doesn't really like Meg that much.

Fifteen Minutes of Shame (8/10) The Thin Blue Line (9/10) Mr Saturday Knight (7/10) To Live and Die in Dixie (10/10) Blind Ambition (8/10) Model Misbehavior (8/10) I Take Thee Quagmire (with Tom Maxwell & Don Woodard) (8.5/10) Stewie and Stu's Excellent Adventure (8.5/10) Whistle While Your Wife Works (8/10) Bill and Peter's Bogus Journey (7/10) Lois Kills Stewie (10/10) The Former Life of Brian (7/10) Dog Gone (8/10) Extra Large Medium (7.5/10) Trading Places (7.5/10) Be Careful What You Fish For (5/10) Roads to Vegas (8/10) Fresh Heir (2/10) A Lot Going On Upstairs (9.5/10) Overal score: 7.7/10

19. Alex Borstein

Actress | Family Guy

Alex Borstein is a Chicago-born American actress, known for her work on the animated sitcom Family Guy (1999), Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story (2005), Bad Santa (2003), and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017). Borstein became a MADtv cast member in 1997, during the sketch comedy show's third season. ...

Besides voicing characters, I enjoyed all of the episode she's written on. It's hard to decide which was better since I'm not a fan of her voice acting.

Fish Out of Water (9/10) Bango Was His Name-o (10/10) Deep Throat (8/10) It Takes a Village idiot and I Married One (8/10) Overall score: 8.7/10

David A. Goodman was born on December 13, 1962 in Bronx, New York, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Family Guy (1999), Futurama (1999) and The Orville (2017).

This writer gets too much hate for no reason. He's not that bad of a writer. He's actually pretty amazing for the most part.

You May Now Kiss the... Uh...Guy Who Receives (7/10) Stewie Kills Lois (10/10) The Big Bang Theory (10/10) It's a Trap! (9/10) Forgive Me Not (9.5/10) Overall score: 9.1/10

My least favorite old writer on Family Guy. I lost so many respect for him after he wrote the pregnant Stewie episode and Brian Writes a Bestseller. His writing vary too much nowadays.

"Brian: Portrait of a Dog" (9/10) "Brian in Love" (9/10) "Road to Rhode Island" (10/10) "Brian Does Hollywood" (8.5/10) "Stewie B. Goode" (10/10) "Go, Stewie, Go!" (5/10) "Brian & Stewie" (1/10) "Brian Writes a Bestseller" (2/10) "Stewie Goes for a Drive" (8/10) "Mr. and Mrs. Stewie" (9/10) "Brian's Play" (8/10) "Stewie Is Enceinte" (0.5/10) Overall score: 6.6/10

Producer | Only Murders in the Building

Kirker Butler was born in Hartford, Kentucky, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Only Murders in the Building (2021), Family Guy (1999) and Galavant (2015).

His writing on the show is kinda strange for me. I don't know what to describe it.

The Courtship of Stewie's Father (9.5/10) Hell Comes to Quahog (8.5/10) Barely Legal (7/10) Padre de Familia (6/10) Something, Something, Something, Dark Side (8.5/10) Overall score: 7.9/10

Brian Scully was born on August 10, 1953 in West Springfield, Massachusetts, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Family Guy (1999), The Simpsons (1989) and The Drew Carey Show (1995).

Brian is the brother of Mike Scully. To be honest, he's isn't that special of a writer.

"I Dream of Jesus" (2008) (6.5/10) "Big Man on Hippocampus" (2010) (8.5/10) "Friends of Peter G" (2011) (6/10) "Leggo My Meg-O" (2012) (8/10) "Bigfat" (2013) (8/10) "Vestigial Peter" (2013) (8/10) Overall score: 7.5/10

Producer | Family Guy

Mike Desilets was born on May 6, 1980 in Framingham, Massachusetts, USA. He is a producer, known for Family Guy (1999), Untitled Dads Project and The Cleveland Show (2009).

He was paired up with Anthony Blasucci. Once they're separated, they brought their style. Yeah, Mike happen to write the weaker parts of their episodes and it really shows in his solo episodes.

Foreign Affairs (3.5/10) The Old Man and the Big 'C' (8/10) Chris Cross (7.5/10) Finders Keepers (8/10) The Book of Joe (7/10) A Shot in the Dark (5.5/10) Overall score: 6.5/10

25. Anthony Blasucci

He was paired up with Mike Desilets. Once they're separated, they brought their style. He's better than him due to the fact he probably wrote the most of the better scenes if these episodes paired up with Desilets are indicated.

Foreign Affairs (3.5/10) The Old Man and the Big 'C' (8/10) Chris Cross (7.5/10) Finders Keepers (8/10) Once Bitten (8/10) An App a Day (8/10) Overall score: 7.1/10

Artie Johann was born on December 18, 1982 in Bayport, New York, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Family Guy (1999), Urban Shogun (2005) and Kids Unlimited (2007).

Ted Jessup was born on August 23, 1960 in New York City, New York, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Family Guy (1999), Ted 2 (2015) and The Girlfriend Experience (2009).

Folks if I was gonna be honest, he's isn't that special of a writer. Just as generic as Tom Devanney is.

"12 and a Half Angry Men" (2013) (8/10) "Mom's the Word" (2014) (7/10) "The 2000-Year-Old Virgin" (2014) (4/10) "Brokeback Swanson" (2015) (6/10) Overall score: 6.2/10

Producer | Family Guy

Tom Devanney was born on March 13, 1952 in Manchester, Connecticut, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Family Guy (1999), Thea (1993) and Perfect Strangers (1986).

Why I rate him that low? Well, Tom comes up with a lot of crappy and uninspiring storyline in his Family Guy episode. Most of them ends up not being perfect. He seem to have a fetish of episodes focusing on realitives.

Breaking Out is Hard to Do (8/10) Mother Tucker (7.5/10) Airport '07 (8/10) Back to the Woods (9/10) Brian's Got a Brand New Bag (5.5/10) Quagmire's Dad (3/10) The Hand That Rocks the Wheelchair (8/10) Quagmire and Meg (6.5/10) Family Guy Viewer Mail No. 2 (co-writer) (???)
