Also made by studios like: Village Roadshow Pictures, and Vertigo Entertainment. The film did very well against the jaggurnauts of How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Big Hero 6. But lamely got snubbed big time by the Oscars of 2014. But really who cares? As long as the movie is good, it doesn't matter.
- DirectorPierre CoffinChris RenaudStarsSteve CarellJason SegelRussell BrandGru, a criminal mastermind, adopts three orphans as pawns to carry out the biggest heist in history. His life takes an unexpected turn when the little girls see the evildoer as their potential father. This film made by Illumination Animation began the studio off on the right foot giving rise to perhaps another force to be reckoned with in terms of animated films.
- DirectorBrad BirdStarsEli MarienthalHarry Connick Jr.Jennifer AnistonA young boy befriends a giant robot from outer space that a paranoid government agent wants to destroy.Another hit by Warner Bros. but way before The Lego Movie. I don't think the Lego Movie was a gleam in the eyes of these filmmakers when this came out. But this is a classic nonetheless.
- DirectorDon BluthStarsElizabeth HartmanDerek JacobiDom DeLuiseTo save her ill son, a field mouse must seek the aid of a colony of rats, with whom she has a deeper link than she suspected.Like Illumination, Don Bluth started with a bang, as this is the first film made by the company. And what a kickoff it was. However 10 years later the studio went the wrong direction on it's finances.
- DirectorWes AndersonStarsGeorge ClooneyMeryl StreepBill MurrayAn urbane fox cannot resist returning to his farm raiding ways and then must help his community survive the farmers' retaliation.Indian Paintbrush and Regency Entertainment created this very well criticized underdog that didn't perform well in the box office. This one is surely to fly over the heads of some people especially when it gets overshadowed by some of the other films like How to Train Your Dragon and Frozen.

- DirectorDon BluthGary GoldmanStarsMeg RyanJohn CusackChristopher LloydThe last surviving child of the Russian Royal Family joins two con men to reunite with her grandmother, the Dowager Empress, while the undead Rasputin seeks her death.Often mistaken for a Disney film which I think is a major complement to this film. When your film is so good people think it's Disney you know you did something right. Created after the downfall of Don Bluth Animated films and started another studio that was also short lived with only two films. This and Titan A.E.
- DirectorDon BluthStarsPat HingleGabriel DamonHelen ShaverAn orphaned brontosaurus teams up with other young dinosaurs in order to reunite with their families in a valley.A film made when Don Bluth Animation was at it's prime. Unfortunately, the studio defunct shortly after due to financial issues. But this film itself made me wonder why they made Rock-a-Doodle and Troll in Central Park, what a downfall. TLBT is considered as good as a lot of Disney films. Actually beating it's Disney rival Oliver and Company in the Box Office.
