Alexandra Moltke Isles grew up in New York where her father was a permanent member of the Danish Mission to the United Nations and her mother was an editor at VOGUE.
As a child she hated school but always had her nose in a book. Growing up as a U.N. brat honed her sensitivity to injustice and a theme running through all her work is social justice and dignity for the outsider.
Her historical documentaries are as notable for the memorable personalities interviewed as they are for the richness of the archival material. Isles' passion for research was developed during her years as a Researcher and then Assistant Curator at New York's Museum of Radio & Television, now the Paley Center of Media.
Her previous films are The Power of Conscience: The Danish Resistance and Rescue of the Jews (1995); Scandalize My Name: (1999) about the black listing of African-American performers during the Red Scare; Porraimos: Europe's Gypsies in the Holocaust (2002); The Healing Gardens of New York (2007); and Hidden Treasures :Stories from a Great Museum (2011)- Alexandra Neldel was born in 1976 in West Berlin, Germany. Her parents divorced when she was a child. His father is a hunter.
It was always very hard for her to decide if she would be with her father or her mother. Maybe that is the reason why she decided to leave her parents and to live her own life at the age of 16. Yet, she has a very good relationship with her parents.
After finishing "Realschule" in Berlin-Steglitz, she started to work as a dentists' assistant. She worked only one year as a dentists' assistant, but during this time she also worked as a hostess. In 1992 she was discovered by the boss of a German casting agency during a polo competition. Although Neldel had no experience in acting, she got a role in a German daily soap opera, Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten. After leaving Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten in 1999, Neldel starred in several German motion pictures and TV films, including Lammbock, Samba in Mettmann and Emmy-winning series Berlin, Berlin.
She never really studied acting, her principle has always been "learning by doing". She always mentions in interviews that she never wanted to be an actress, it was not her dream to stand in front of the camera, she was completely satisfied with her life as a dentists' assistant. But now, she enjoys her work as an actress and it always makes her happy to give something to the audience.
2005 was the year of her breakthrough as an actress: she began to play the role of Lisa Plenske in the most successful German daily soap-opera ever. She left the series after 365 episodes. After her leaving, the majority of the audience turned aside from "Verliebt in Berlin", the series became rather unsuccessful. More than seven million German people watched the 365th episode of "Verliebt in Berlin", therefore it was a profitable production for German TV channel Sat1.
In 2006 Neldel was "best European soap actress" and got the Rose d'Or (Golden Rose) Award.
She is often considered as a sex-symbol , too - but she always refuses this kind of expression. She is also considered as a girls' girl: that means the majority of her fans are women.
She never talks about her private life, one can never read home-stories about her, as she says, she wants to keep her private life.
Nowadays she is one of the most successful actresses in Germany, she has many fans also in France, since her series "Verliebt in Berlin" was broadcast there as well: it was the most successful German series in France ever. - Actress

Enduring, strong-featured, and genial star of US cinema, Burt Reynolds started off in T.V. westerns in the 1960s and then carved his name into 1970s/1980s popular culture, as a sex symbol (posing nearly naked for "Cosmopolitan" magazine), and on-screen as both a rugged action figure and then as a wisecracking, Southern type of "good ol' boy."
Burton Leon Reynolds was born in Lansing, Michigan. He was the son of Harriette Fernette "Fern" (Miller) and Burton Milo Reynolds, who was in the army. After World War II, his family moved to Riviera Beach, Florida, where his father was chief of police, and where Burt excelled as an athlete and played with Florida State University. He became an All Star Southern Conference halfback (and was earmarked by the Baltimore Colts) before a knee injury and a car accident ended his football career. Midway through college he dropped out and headed to New York with aspirations of becoming an actor. There he worked in restaurants and clubs while pulling the odd TV spot or theatre role.
He was spotted in a New York City production of "Mister Roberts," signed to a TV contract, and eventually had recurring roles in such shows as Gunsmoke (1955), Riverboat (1959) and his own series, Hawk (1966).
Reynolds continued to appear in undemanding western roles, often playing a character of half Native American descent, in films such as Navajo Joe (1966), 100 Rifles (1969) and Sam Whiskey (1969). However, it was his tough-guy performance as macho Lewis Medlock in the John Boorman backwoods nightmare Deliverance (1972) that really stamped him as a bona-fide star. Reynolds' popularity continued to soar with his appearance as a no-nonsense private investigator in Shamus (1973) and in the Woody Allen comedy Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex * But Were Afraid to Ask (1972). Building further on his image as a Southern boy who outsmarts the local lawmen, Reynolds packed fans into theaters to see him in White Lightning (1973), The Longest Yard (1974), W.W. and the Dixie Dancekings (1975) and Gator (1976).
At this time, ex-stuntman and longtime Reynolds buddy Hal Needham came to him with a "road film" script. It turned out to be the incredibly popular Smokey and the Bandit (1977) with Sally Field and Jerry Reed, which took in over $100 million at the box office. That film's success was followed by Smokey and the Bandit II (1980) and Smokey and the Bandit Part 3 (1983). Reynolds also appeared alongside Kris Kristofferson in the hit football film Semi-Tough (1977), with friend Dom DeLuise in the black comedy The End (1978) (which Reynolds directed), in the stunt-laden buddy film Hooper (1978) and then in the self-indulgent, star-packed road race flick The Cannonball Run (1981).
The early 1980s started off well with a strong performance in the violent police film Sharky's Machine (1981), which he also directed, and he starred with Dolly Parton in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) and with fellow macho superstar Clint Eastwood in the coolly received City Heat (1984). However, other projects such as Stroker Ace (1983), Stick (1985) and Paternity (1981) failed to catch fire with fans and Reynolds quickly found himself falling out of popularity with movie audiences. In the late 1980s he appeared in only a handful of films, mostly below average, before television came to the rescue and he shone again in two very popular TV shows, B.L. Stryker (1989) and Evening Shade (1990), for which he won an Emmy. In 1988, Burt and his then-wife, actress Loni Anderson, had a son, Quinton A. Reynolds (aka Quinton Anderson Reynolds), whom they adopted.
He was back on screen, but still the roles weren't grabbing the public's attention, until his terrific performance as a drunken politician in the otherwise woeful Striptease (1996) and then another tremendous showing as a charming, porn director in Boogie Nights (1997), which scored him a Best Supporting Actor nomination. Like the phoenix from the ashes, Reynolds resurrected his popularity and, in the process, gathered a new generation of young fans, many of whom had been unfamiliar with his 1970s film roles. He then put in entertaining work in Pups (1999), Mystery, Alaska (1999), Driven (2001) and Time of the Wolf (2002). Definitely one of Hollywood's most resilient stars, Reynolds continually surprised all with his ability to weather both personal and career hurdles and his almost 60 years in front of the cameras were testament to his staying ability, his acting talent and his appeal to film audiences.
Burt Reynolds died of cardiac arrest on September 6, 2018, in Jupiter, Florida, U.S. He was eighty two.- A former leading fashion model, almost 5'10'' tall, Carey was a favorite with top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father is a distinguished geologist who was voted Scientist of the Year in 1979 at the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. As a result of his career Carey grew up all around the world. She started modeling part time while she was at the University of Colorado and caught the attention of a representative of the Ford model Agency in New York. She moved to France in 1980 and lived briefly in Paris and Bordeaux before deciding to return to New York to continue with her college education and modeling career and was soon appearing on the covers of Vogue, Glamour, etc. In between her modeling assignments she was a full time student obtaining a major in literature at New York University. Gradually she became interested in acting and studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. She made her acting debut with a small role in 'Club Paradise' in 1986 with Robin Williams. Her leisure time is spent skiing, wind surfing, rock climbing and white water rafting.

After decades in show business, character actor Conrad Janis came to prominence as Mindy's father on TV's Mork & Mindy (1978). By the late '70s, he had formed the Beverly Hills Unlisted Jazz Band which performed in many festivals and was often showcased on David Letterman's and Johnny Carson's late shows.
Janis acted in anthology TV dramas from as early as 1950, according to his account ultimately racking up some 700 appearances (many of them not recorded or otherwise lost to posterity). He toiled away in fairly minor parts until his breakout role as music store owner Fred McConnell in Mork & Mindy. D'Urville Martin was a key important, prolific and hugely engaging supporting actor who appeared with pleasing regularity in a handful of delightfully down'n'dirty 70s blaxploitation features. Martin was born on February 11, 1939 in New York City. D'Urville first began acting in the 1960s including the elevator attendant in "Rosemary's Baby". He soon became a principal recurring figure in the 70s blaxploitation cinema cycle. Martin acted in several movies with legendary blaxploitation icon Fred "The Hammer" Williamson; he was especially memorable as Williamson's reluctant partner Toby in the "Black Charley" pictures and old childhood chum Reverand Rufus in both the terrific "Black Caesar" and its solid sequel "Hell Up in Harlem." D'Urville popped up in two flicks for director William Girdler: he's the villainous Pilot in the Pam Grier vehicle "Sheba, Baby" and a flamboyant pimp in the enjoyably tacky "The Zebra Killer." Martin directed the hilarious Rudy Ray Moore comedy hoot "Dolemite" -- he also plays Willie Green in this film -- and "Disco 9000." Among the TV shows he did guest spots on are "Dr. Kildare," "Daniel Boone," "The Monkees," "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," "The Invaders," "All in the Family," "Love, American Style," and "Ironside." Alas, D'Urville Martin had a hard partying lifestyle which directly lead to his unfortunate untimely death from a heart attack at age 45 on May 28, 1984.- Actor

"The Little Nightingale", as he was widely known in Spain when he became a widely successful child star, had a very troubled childhood that led to an even more troubled life as an adult. José Jiménez Fernández was born in Beas de Segura (Jaén, Andalucía, Spain), on February 11, 1943, although some sources claim it was in 1947, due to false advertising by the studios that made his movies, and which wanted to make him appear younger than he really was (an obsession that haunted him through the whole of his career), pretending he was 9 at the moment of his debut, when he actually was 13.
Discovered as a singer by Luis Mariano, who got him to perform in France, Joselito was introduced to the movie business in 1956 by Antonio del Amo, who directed him in his first feature, El pequeño ruiseñor (1957) ("The Little Nightingale"), where he earned his famous nickname. Spanish film studios were looking for a new child star to follow the steps of Pablito Calvo, and make popular and populist folkloric movies, which were big box-office hits in Spain during Francisco Franco's dictatorship.
After several movies and records, and already a big star as a singer and an actor in Europe, the next move was trying to triumph in America, so Joselito went to Mexico where he filmed various projects, starting by Aventuras de Joselito y Pulgarcito (1960), which paired him with Mexican child star Cesáreo Quezadas 'Pulgarcito' to grant local box-office. His success even reached the USA, where he appeared to great acclaim in The Ed Sullivan Show (1948) with Ed Sullivan. However, life was not too glamorous for Joselito, as he was treated almost as a sideshow act by his managers, not allowing him to become the teenager he was (that was a milestone in Spanish "child prodigies" under Franco: trying to keep them as little kids for as long as possible), and even locking him in his room between rehearsals so he couldn't meet girls. He was forced to keep his childlike image up to 1969 (when he was in his mid-twenties), when he appeared in his last film, Prisionero en la ciudad (1969). But, as his voice had long broken, he was not successful anymore and he retired, disappearing from public life until it was discovered much later that he had become a heroin addict and even worked as a mercenary in Africa.
An attempt of a comeback as an adult proved unsuccessful, as the tastes of the audience had changed, and his voice didn't resemble the one he had as a kid, so Joselito definitely retired from show business to his home in Utiel (Valencia, Spain), where he, now clean and sober, lives a quiet life far from movie and recording studios.- Writer

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on February 11, 1909, Joseph Leo Mankiewicz first worked for the movies as a translator of intertitles, employed by Paramount in Berlin, the UFA's American distributor at the time (1928). He became a dialoguist, then a screenwriter on numerous Paramount productions in Hollywood, most of them Jack Oakie vehicles. Still in his 20s, he produced first-class MGM films, including The Philadelphia Story (1940). Having left Metro after a dispute with studio chief Louis B. Mayer over Judy Garland, he then worked for Darryl F. Zanuck at 20th Century-Fox, producing The Keys of the Kingdom (1944), when Ernst Lubitsch's illness first brought him to the director's chair for Dragonwyck (1946). Mankiewicz directed 20 films in a 26-year period, successfully attempted every kind of movie from Shakespeare adaptation to western, from urban sociological drama to musical, from epic film with thousands of extras to a two-character picture. A Letter to Three Wives (1949) and All About Eve (1950) brought him wide recognition along with two Academy Awards for each as a writer and a director, seven years after his elder brother Herman J. Mankiewicz won Best Screenplay for Citizen Kane (1941). His more intimate films like The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947), The Barefoot Contessa (1954)--his only original screenplay--and The Honey Pot (1967) are major artistic achievements as well, showing Mankiewicz as a witty dialoguist, a master in the use of flashback and a talented actors' director (he favored English actors and had in Rex Harrison a kind of alter-ego on the screen).- Director

Justin M. Warner (born February 11, 1984) is an American chef. He is best known for his appearances on Food Network, including the eighth season of the series Food Network Star, which he won. He is the author of "The Laws of Cooking: And How to Break Them (2015)." He is also the chef host of "Eat the Universe" on marvel where he makes meals inspired by characters of the Marvel Universe.
Warner was born on February 11, 1984 in Hagerstown, Maryland. His mother, Jan, is a schoolteacher, and his father was a psychiatrist. Warner was born when his father was 57 years old. In 1998 he was a finalist in the National Spelling Bee. His father died shortly after Justin graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 2002. Warner has had no formal culinary training, but he was inspired to learn to cook by his father.
Warner appeared on 24 Hour Restaurant Battle in August 2010 with his then-girlfriend J.J. Pyle. They won the episode with their brunch restaurant concept, but the restaurant itself never came to fruition. Later in 2012, Warner became a contestant on the eighth season of "Food Network Star," mentored by Alton Brown. He did not watch the series before becoming a contestant, because he does not own a television. He eventually became one of the final four contestants, and he filmed a pilot for a potential series called "Rebel with a Culinary Cause." He won the competition. Alton Brown announced on January 4, 2013, that he will "regrettably" not be producing Justin's show. In March 2013, Justin Warner debuted a one-hour pilot special on Food Network titled "Rebel Eats." Beginning in 2014, he became a frequent judge and (sometimes winning) competitor on "Guy's Grocery Games."
He was one of the co-owners of Do or Dine restaurant in Bed-Stuy, New York, before it closed in September 2015. Starting October 31, 2016, Warner, along with a few others acting as staff, created a new cooking show on Twitch known as Chefshock, "Shockingly Real, Shockingly Live, and just plain Shockingly Delicious," where he cooks live from his home kitchen from completely raw ingredients with viewers encouraged to cook along and ask questions. Questions are often presented to Warner by a moderator who shares in eating the finished results, while those that cook along and post their own progress pictures are featured throughout the show during lulls in the cooking process. Ingredients required to cook along at home are shared a week in advance, usually through the use of Google documents to allow those that wish to participate time to gather them.
In 2004, Justin married his high school sweetheart, Jessica Hinze. They lived together in Colorado until their divorce in 2007. On June 29, 2015, Justin Warner married his fiancée Brooke Sweeten. As of 2020, they make their home in Rapid City, South Dakota.- Music Artist

- Kim Stanley's movie roles were few and far between; she is perhaps best known for her stellar performances on stage, including successes on Broadway. But when she did step in front of the camera, nothing short of memorable resulted. Her repertoire in movies and on stage covered such diversity from the sensitive glamour-girl Rita Shawn character in the 1958 "Goddess" to the crusty, somewhat salty and sunbaked Pancho Barnes in 1983's The Right Stuff (1983). Her abilities to play such diverse roles and play them well garnered her two Academy Award nominations: one for her portrayal of the slightly unhinged medium in the 1964 Seance on a Wet Afternoon (1964) and another for her characterization of the domineering and wrathful mother of Frances Farmer in 1982's Frances (1982). Stanley was born Patricia Reid in Tularosa, New Mexico. When her parents divorced, her mother moved the family, sans father, to Texas where her mother found work as an interior decorator. Drawn to both Texas and New Mexico, Stanley often found herself lonely and unsure of what she wanted. As a child, she wrote poetry and had many a daydream about becoming an artist or, on the other hand, a May Queen. In school, she found she liked acting in plays. At 16, in San Antonio she attended a touring production of "The Philadelphia Story", which starred Katharine Hepburn. recreating her role from the movie. Overwhelmed by the performance to the point of tears (she didn't want the play to end), Stanley aspired to do what she had seen Hepburn do. In college, she received a degree in psychology after attending first the University of New Mexico and subsequently, the University of Texas. But acting was still what she aspired to. So pursuing a career connected neither to her college major nor to the states where she grew up, Stanley eventually landed an acting apprenticeship in California with the Pasadena Playhouse. Her stay there was brief and she soon moved on to a winter stock company in Louisville, Kentucky. From there, with $21 to her name, she traveled to Manhattan. The year was 1947 and her Texas accent was still very much a part of her persona -- so much so that many in the New York theatre scene advised she go home to Texas. Persevering, however, Stanley made ends meet as a dress model and as a cocktail waitress, all the while honing her skills in off-Broadway productions of the Gertrude Stein ilk. It was in Stein's "Yes Is for a Very Young Man," that New York Times theatre critic Books Atkinson singled out Stanley as an actress with promise (incidentally, he did not care much for the play she was in). Stanley was also developing her craft under the tutelage of Elia Kazan and Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio in New York City, and scored her first Broadway success in 1952 when, at the age of 27, she played the 12-year-old Millie Owens in William Inge's "Picnic". Subsequently, in the 1954 production of Inge's "Bus Stop," as the starry-eyed chanteuse Cherie (a role Marilyn Monroe assumed for the film), Stanley ascended to even greater heights and greater accolades in her acting achievements. Though she preferred stage acting to any other facsimile and often shied away from movies (reportedly, she declined to repeat for the movies roles she mastered on stage), she frequently played roles on television during the 1950s and '60s on such theatrical programs as "Goodyear TV Playhouse" and "Magnavox Theater," garnering two Emmy awards in the process (one in 1963 for her contributions to an episode of Ben Casey (1961); the other for her Big Mama part in the 1984 PBS/American Playhouse production of Tennessee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"). In the latter part of her life, she gravitated toward teaching, conducting acting classes in Los Angeles and, later, returning to her roots, securing a position teaching acting at the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico.
