by temrok9 | created - 03 Oct 2015 | updated - 03 Oct 2015 | PublicWhen I was a kid, my favourite movies were horror movies;I was lucky: as I was born in the sixties, I had the pleasure of witnessing the most exciting period of the genre of all time.I am referring to the end of the sixties, seventies and beginning of eighties, when many great directors considered the horror genre-which they had loved-the perfect place to create their personal masterpieces.I understand that many people may think otherwise;some are in love with the american horror of the thirties, some of the fifties, and some have every reason to love the Hammer period-especially english and italian films- and I suppose there are many who prefer the horror movies that are made these days, which I'm afaid I find-most of them-dreadful and have started to avoid them(I think it all started with films like The ring and the terrible Blair witch project).Nevertheless, this is my list of the films I consider the best horror movies ever;most of them make it in my list of best movies ever, whatever the genre.
