Dementia initially manifests as cognitive decline and behavioral changes. As the disease progresses the body deteriorates, leading to other diseases and complications such as pneumonia, heart problems, COPD, cancer, stroke, etc., which are often listed as the official cause of death. The underlying cause, though, is usually the dementia

The three most common types of dementia are: 1) Alzheimer's Disease; 2)Lewy body dementia; and 3) vascular dementia
