Jirka is the boy whose family was murdered in the village of Lidice as repercussions for the assassination of Heydrich. He stays with his uncle - engineer Petr Lom. Marta - a young girl leaving next door, working at the post office helps to take care of the boy. Lom has just started working on the military airport, governed by Sudeten-Nazi named Ullman. Resistance is quite active in the airport, collecting arms and grenades and communicating with allies, sometimes doing some small diversion. They have a lot of great intel thanks to secretary Jana Tomesowa, who is trustee of Ullman and has access to a lot of restricted informations. Jirka also starts to help at the airport, but he's filled with sorrow and need of revenge. He's caught stealing grenade and arrested by gestapo. Later he's shot. When Jana sees it she faints, and Ullman finds some secret message she had with her. He tells he has found something to his gestapo friends and goes to the warehouse to investigate it himself. In there he's killed by resistance, by being pushed onto transformer. Gestapo starts arresting and searching houses of airport workers, and it turns out that Marta is working with Germans as informer. Lom doesn't know that yet, he's struck by Jirkas death. He picks the gun from his hideout and walks back to the airport. The neighbours tell him truth about Marta. Lom kills her and helps Jana escape. Germans gather airport workers and threaten to kill them all if noone says who killed Ullman. Then Lom appears saying he did it and killing men from gestapo who killed Jirka. He's killed by the soldiers. Workers go back to work. In last scene, dying Lom has vision of the future. He sees woman with gun (symbolizing Chechoslovakia) going forward with war attrocities around her. However she doesn't stop until the war is over and Czechoslovak flag appears on mast.

With Ellen safely in jail, Cisco and Pancho force the local newspaper to run a story saying that Doc Willis has been apprehended. Hastings makes another deal with Cisco to kill Ellen before she testifies against Doc.

The order is forwarded to Lieutenant Sundridge, a handsome young officer in command of the nearest post to the Kid's scene of crimes. In the course of his search for Cisco, Sandridge comes upon the house where Tonia lives. He is taken by the bright face and bewitching manner of the little Mexican girl and she, in turn, admires the lieutenant. After a time, she finds that a true love for the young American officer is slowly taking hold of her finer nature. Cisco has been hiding in the mountains. He comes to his sweetheart and suspects that she has ceased to love him for someone else. Then he intercepts a note that the girl is sending to the American. Cisco supplants it with one of his own writing, which reads, "He has come and suspects. To prove I am true I must ride to town in his clothes tomorrow. He will ride in mine. Come at sunrise. Kill this man that I may be thine alone." The lieutenant sets forth to kill the Kid. Nearing the house he perceives a figure emerging. He orders it to halt, and getting no answer, fires. The figure topples forward, and rushing up. Sandridge finds that he has killed his beloved Tonia. Too late, he sees through the trick of Cisco, but he swears to capture the outlaw and not to sleep or eat until he does. Then starts a chase which lasts for days. He brings Cisco back, cowed and submissive, to the sheriff, who waits with a rope. As the outlaw is being led away, Sandridge gently takes a flower Tonia had given him from his pocket and presses it gently to his lips.

The two rivals are irresistibly drawn to each other, however, and as a token of love Cisco offers to return the money to Jeanne instead. Now she must decide whether to complete her business deal, or to comply with Cisco's wishes and redistribute the wealth.

Cisco discovers that bullets from Maria's gun, a handy little derringer, are the same type that killed Don Carlos. But the Alcalde arrests Cisco and Pancho, and Cisco is "supposedly" executed by a firing squad, but IS NOT shot and escapes by a trick. And now Maria and Ricardo are in real trouble with Cisco on the loose.
