- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsLeonardo DiCaprioTom HanksChristopher WalkenBarely 17 yet, Frank is a skilled forger who has passed as a doctor, lawyer and pilot. FBI agent Carl becomes obsessed with tracking down the con man, who only revels in the pursuit. The accuracy is probably not there (I mean Abagnale Jr basically made everything up), but man this is a good film
- CreatorCarlo BernardChris BrancatoDoug MiroStarsPedro PascalWagner MouraBoyd HolbrookA chronicled look at the criminal exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, as well as the many other drug kingpins who plagued the country through the years.A harrowing reminder of the futility of the war on drugs
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroRay LiottaJoe PesciThe story of Henry Hill and his life in the mafia, covering his relationship with his wife Karen and his mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito.Too bad Henry Hill wasn't ever as good looking as Ray Liotta. This remains my favorite Scorcese film
- DirectorMike NewellStarsAl PacinoJohnny DeppMichael MadsenAn FBI undercover agent infiltrates the mob and finds himself identifying more with the Mafia life--at the expense of his regular one. It's weird to think that this actually happened, at least to some extent.
- DirectorEdward ZwickStarsTom CruiseKen WatanabeBilly ConnollyIn 19th century Japan, Nathan Algren, a US army captain, is hired by the Japanese emperor to train his army in the modern warfare techniques. Captain Algren finds himself trapped in a struggle between two eras and two worlds.Nice dramatization of the Meiji Restoration
- CreatorMichael HirstStarsKatheryn WinnickGustaf SkarsgårdAlexander LudwigVikings transports us to the brutal and mysterious world of Ragnar Lothbrok, a Viking warrior and farmer who yearns to explore--and raid--the distant shores across the ocean. It does condense a lot of history, but it is still a great portrayal of viking culture
- DirectorJoe WrightStarsGary OldmanLily JamesKristin Scott ThomasIn May 1940, the fate of World War II hangs on Winston Churchill, who must decide whether to negotiate with Adolf Hitler, or fight on knowing that it could mean the end of the British Empire. It exaggerated and leaves out certain details, but man is Gary Oldman great as Winston Churchill
- DirectorKenny OrtegaStarsChristian BaleBill PullmanRobert DuvallA musical based on the New York City newsboy strike of 1899. When young newspaper sellers are exploited beyond reason by their bosses they set out to enact change and are met by the ruthlessness of big business.Technically it is a historical film.
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroSharon StoneJoe PesciIn Las Vegas, two best friends - a casino executive and a mafia enforcer - compete for a gambling empire and a fast-living, fast-loving socialite. Not as Great as Goodfellas, but still an entertaining film with a top tier cast
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroAl PacinoJoe PesciAn illustration of Frank Sheeran's life, from W.W.II veteran to hit-man for the Bufalino crime family and his alleged assassination of his close friend Jimmy Hoffa. The second act is where this film is at it's best, but it is still nice to see a lot of these actors again after being in a lot of crappy films

- CreatorDavid JenkinsStarsRhys DarbyJoel FrySamson KayoThe year is 1717. Wealthy land-owner Stede Bonnet has a midlife crisis and decides to blow up his cushy life to become a pirate. It does not go well. Based on a true story.Much Better over time, and Taika Waititi is amazing as Blackbeard
- DirectorCy EndfieldStarsStanley BakerJack HawkinsUlla JacobssonOutnumbered British soldiers do battle with Zulu warriors at Rorke's Drift. An amazing classic war film with a great cast an a view on Zulus that was nuanced for the time. You are taught not to see them as primitive natives but as formidable warriors.
- DirectorBaz LuhrmannStarsTom HanksAustin ButlerOlivia DeJongeThe life of American music icon Elvis Presley, from his childhood to becoming a rock and movie star in the 1950s while maintaining a complex relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.A great movie for Elvis lovers, so long as you enjoy or tolerate Baz Luhrman's style
- DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsAsa ButterfieldChloë Grace MoretzChristopher LeeIn 1931 Paris, an orphan living in the walls of a train station gets wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton.A sweet charming film that while different than a lot of films in the Martin Scorcesse catalog is still a great watch. Chloe Grace Moretz, Asa Butterfield, Ben Kinglsey, and Sacha Baron Cohen do a spectacular job in this film (even if this is one of Sacha Baron Cohen's weakest rolls, it still shows how amazing he is, since bottom tier for him is top tier for a lot of actors).
