With the Group B Finals just hours away (Fox, 8/7c), it’s time to make our final guesses about another one of The Masked Singer‘s secret celebrities. In fact, let’s make it a twofer this week.
That’s right, we’re talking about this season’s nutritious, harmonious duo — the Beets! Like the judges, we were also stumped when they first sauntered onto the scene back in March. Heck, at one point we even thought that Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele might have been masquerading as the pair of root vegetables.

Update: Disney has shared an image of Jeff Bridges taking a look at the Tron: Ares script, and that can be seen at the bottom of this article.
The original article follows:
The long-awaited third entry in the Tron franchise is finally in production. Six years after it was first announced that Jared Leto was in talks to star in a Tron project called Tron: Ares, the movie was all set to start filming last August – but then it had to wait out the writers and actors strikes. With those strikes over, filming is finally underway. Earlier today, we heard a quote from cast member Cameron Monaghan (Gotham), who said this film will “really push forward what can be done, from a visual perspective.” Now, we have another quote about the movie – and this is the one that every Tron fan has been waiting to hear. The filming of Tron: Ares, the third movie in the Tron franchise, is currently underway, as director Joachim Rønning and his cast are preparing for the planned 2025 release. Many details about the upcoming movie are still scarce and things are kept under wraps, but some of the actors have spoken out about the movie and its production, providing us with some very positive comments. On the other hand, while the cast members have been more or less known, their roles (save for the protagonist) are still undisclosed, which means that casting updates will be frequent as more details are revealed.
And while we’ve been expecting some updates on the names of the confirmed cast members, we’ve actually received a pretty amazing scoop instead, as it has officially been confirmed that the series’ legend, Jeff Bridges, is indeed returning to the franchise and will appear in the third movie as well!

Jeff Bridges reveals he is all set to return to the Tron series that he helped to establish all the way back in 1982, for Tron: Ares.
After many years of waiting, Tron: Ares, a sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy, is finally in production. Tron: Legacy's director Joseph Kosinski hasn’t returned and neither have any of the film’s stars – well, apart from one (you can probably guess who it is from the headline). It doesn’t even look like Daft Punk will be returning to give us another memorable score for the third film in the Tron franchise.
It’s not quite all-new though, with reports stating that Jeff Bridges is all set to make an appearance in the film. Bridges himself revealed the news on the Film Comment podcast, stating that he was excited to be working with Jared Leto, the star of Tron: Ares.

Jeff Bridges is getting digitized once again. The actor revealed that he will be returning for “Tron: Ares,” the third “Tron” movie set for release in 2015 and will star Jared Leto.
Bridges revealed the news on the Film Comment podcast on Friday, saying that he headed out over the weekend to film a part for the threequel and was even anxious about working with an actor like Leto.
“Jared Leto is the star of this third one. I’m really anxious to work with him. I’ve admired his work,” Bridges said.
Bridges reprised his role as Kevin Flynn in 2010’s “Tron: Legacy” after he first appeared in the groundbreaking 1982 video-game movie. “Legacy” aimed to push another technical visual effects boundary by de-aging his character, with Bridges playing himself and his younger avatar. Jeff Bridges is going back to the grid.
The 74-year-old actor told the Film Comment podcast (via The Playlist) that he is going to appear in “Tron: Ares,” the third film in the long-running sci-fi franchise that Bridges inaugurated with “Tron” in 1982 and reprised with “Tron: Legacy” in 2010. The new film stars Jared Leto as the titular character Ares, with Joachim Rønning (“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”) directing from a script by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne.

The originalTRON movie premiered in 1982, and it became one of the most popular sci-fi films of the era and is now considered a cult classic. Its sequel, Tron: Legacy, was released in 2010 and received mixed reviews, but Disney still decided to continue the series, and Tron: Ares, the third movie in the series, is set to come out on October 10, 2025, as we have reported earlier. And while there is still some time before the movie’s premiere, the actors involved are discussing the work on the movie, and from what Cameron Monaghan, one of the movie’s main stars, said, we are in for an exciting sequel.
Plans for a third movie started emerging back in 2010 after Legacy, but several ideas and projects were scrapped before it was confirmed in 2022 that the movie was still happening and production was set to begin in 2023, although was originally postponed indefinitely due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Cameron Monaghan, one of the stars of the upcoming Tron: Ares, has praised its practical sets and visuals, while also reminding us that Tron: Legacy is 14 years old.
Sci-fi adventure sequel Tron: Ares is currently filming, with Joachim Ronning (Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directing.
Among the starry cast, which also includes Jared Leto and Gillian Anderson, you’ll also find Cameron Monaghan – an actor who looks so much like his character Cal Kestis in the Star Wars Survivor games that seeing photos of him is vaguely jarring. It’s a bit like seeing a videogame protagonist suddenly materialise in the real world – which, funnily enough, is what Tron: Ares is said to be about, with Leto playing Ares, “a fictional character who crosses over from the world of videogames to planet Earth.”

Gillian Anderson has paid tribute to her starring role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully on social media by quoting a lyric from Taylor Swift’s latest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
“You wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me,” Anderson wrote in an April 26 post on X. The caption ran alongside an image of Scully and Fox Mulder, played by costar David Duchovny, in their basement office.

Channel 4 News has landed a major coup in booking Prince Andrew interviewer Emily Maitlis to head up its general election coverage.
Maitlis, who was portrayed by Gillian Anderson in Netflix movie Scoop about the notorious interview, will present alongside regular helmer Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
Channel 4 News has focused on Britain’s biggest podcasts by booking Maitlis, who co-hosts smash hit The News Agents, along with landing Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart, who present the popular Rest is Politics pod, as contributors.
The pair will bring “inimitable analysis,” according to Channel 4. The “eclectic line-up” will also feature some of the cast of Gogglebox, the network’s second most popular show. Cathy Newman will present from campaign HQs for the ruling Conservative and opposition Labour parties. Sports presenter CLare Balding will front the data coverage.
“Delighted to be involved with this election night and it’s brilliant cast of people,” said Maitlis.
As The X-Files reboot continues to draw excitement from fans, questions about David Duchovny‘s involvement in the remake persist. The actor played FBI agent Fox Mulder in the sci-fi drama alongside Gillian Anderson’s Dana Scully. The bond between the duo was the lifeblood of the show, which initially ran for nine seasons on Fox, and then revived in 2016 for another two seasons. For most of the years the show ran, it followed their characters as they investigated paranormal-related cases. After years of opposing the idea of returning to The X-Files roles, Anderson expressed in a recent interview that she’s

Could this be worse than The Crown? Well, if you ask Princess Beatrice, the answer would be yes. There’s a new report that says the young princess feels absolutely devastated and humiliated that Scoop is making her father, Prince Andrew, and the royal family look so bad.
It’s one show that she would rather tune out from than tune in. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Royal Family News – Princess Beatrice Feels Humiliated Over Netflix’s ‘Scoop
Princess Beatrice doesn’t want anyone talking to her about Netflix’s Scoop. The film, which stars Billie Piper and Gillian Anderson, is about how the women of Newsnight secured Prince Andrew’s infamous 2019 interview, when he denied all of the allegations of sexual assault that were made against him. He also tried to downplay his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Welcome back to the Grid, user. Disney is finally following up their cult franchise with a new entry, Tron: Ares. While the new entry in the series does not seemingly feature the Flynn family, at least for now, their legacy will be put into further question as a sophisticated program escapes from the game and ventures into our world. Jared Leto, who had a big swing and a miss with his last franchise attempt, Morbius, is heading up the cast for this continuation. Disney recently unveiled details of Tron: Ares‘ release at last week’s CinemaCon.
Cbr.com has reported on an on-set video taken during a night shoot on the production. The video was posted to social media and seems to show a scene that takes place in a city street with cars stalled in the middle of the road. Jared Leto is seen in full view in his character’s costume.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be headed to Balmoral this summer. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may reportedly get an “olive branch” invite from King Charles III to vacation at the royal family’s Scottish estate as the 75-year-old is eager to spend time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
King Charles may take the ‘life is too short’ approach and invite the Sussexes to Balmoral
The summer of 2024 could see the Sussexes come together with King Charles for a little R&r at Balmoral. Per a Page Six report, the king, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment along with Kate Middleton, may include the Sussexes.
“I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children, and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry,” a “well-placed society source” told the outlet.

Meghan Markle sees no way “back” for her and Kate Middleton. A royal author says the Duchess of Sussex has no feelings of guilt about how things happened with the Prince of Wales. The reason, they claim, is because Meghan still feels Kate, as a fellow royal “outsider,” should’ve “had her back.”
Meghan doesn’t get why Kate didn’t support her as a royal family ‘outsider’
According to Tom Quinn, a royal author and commentator, Meghan has no feelings of guilt at how things played out between her and Kate. The reason, he told The Mirror, is that the former Suits star feels Kate should’ve had her back. Especially seeing as the two married into the royal family.
“Meghan doesn’t feel guilty about Kate,” Quinn said. “Because she feels that Kate should’ve been the one person in the royal family to back her against every difficulty.

The X-Files reboot has garnered waves of enthusiastic anticipation, but the return of Gillian Anderson’s Dana Scully remains uncertain. The American actress performed alongside David Duchovny’s Fox Mulder in the sci-fi drama widely considered the most defining role in her storied career. The series follows Mulder and Scully as they investigate unsolved cases revolving around paranormal events. Aderson’s performance as a medical doctor and FBI special agent was so impactful it inspired many young women to pursue Stem-related careers. Termed “The Scully Effect,” this phenomenon is perhaps the most significant accomplishment of the iconic role. Anderson’s embodiment of the character

King Charles III would probably do things differently if he had a do-over at parenting Prince William and Prince Harry. According to a royal expert, the king likely “regrets” the “freestyle” way the Prince of Wales, 41, and Duke of Sussex, 39, grew up in the British royal family.
Harry and William didn’t have ‘many’ boundaries growing up
As kids growing up at Kensington Palace and Highgrove, the world was, for the most part, William and Harry’s oyster. After all, they were the children of a future king, the then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
As such, the brothers largely had free rein to do “what they wanted.” Sure, they had a nanny not unlike other royal children. The lack of boundaries is what Ingrid Seward, a royal expert and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, thinks King Charles now regrets.
“I think Charles probably regrets that he wasn’t strict with Harry and William,...

Things are better between King Charles III and Prince William because of Kate Middleton. A commentator says the Princess of Wales’s presence has acted as a “healing balm” to her husband, the Prince of Wales’ relationship with his father, which “hasn’t always been the easiest.”
Kate has helped improve King Charles and William’s relationship
Kate’s not only British royalty but something of a salve to relationships. In particular, that of her husband, William, 41, and father-in-law, King Charles, 75.
The feat is something considering their relationship “hasn’t always been the easiest,” Victoria Arbiter told True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat (via The Mirror).
When Kate joined the royal family in 2011, she brought with her “warmth,” acting as a “healing balm” for William and his father.

Scoop, the Netflix film chronicling Prince Andrew’s humbling interview on the BBC, has enjoyed a relatively regal reception from British audiences.
Based on a book of the same name by Sam McAlister, the woman who played a central role in securing access to the Duke of York, the feature was watched by 2.75M viewers in its first seven days.
The rating is healthy for Netflix, putting Scoop ahead of other recently launched titles, not least the eye-wateringly expensive 3 Body Problem, which premiered with 1.7M viewers.
Scoop could not quite match fellow royal drama The Crown, however. The Left Bank show’s final season debuted with 2.8M last year, according to official Barb figures supplied by overnights.tv.

In a very unsettled drama Emmy field, one of the few ostensible locks this year is Elizabeth Debicki. With 4/1 odds, she is the runaway favorite to take home the Best Drama Supporting Actress Emmy for her turn as Princess Diana on “The Crown,” which would make the Netflix series the sixth show to deliver two different winners in the category.
Twelve shows have won drama supporting actress more than once. Of those, seven shows have had one person triumph repeatedly, including “Lou Grant” for Nancy Marchand, who won a record four times, and most recently “Ozark” for three-time champ Julia Garner. The five shows that saw the wealth spread among its cast members are “St. Elsewhere”, “The West Wing”, “Hill Street Blues”, “The Practice” and “thirtysomething”. No show has had more than two cast members win the award.
Interestingly, Marchand (1980-82; her first win was in ’78), Roberts (1983), Woodard (1984), Thomas (1985), Bartlett...

It seems April 2024 isn’t off to a good start for Princess Beatrice ever since Netflix’s Scoop premiered. The 35-year-old British royal is portrayed—very briefly—in the film about her father, Prince Andrew’s 2019 Newsnight interview regarding his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to an expert, Beatrice is likely “annoyed and upset” she’s depicted in the film.
Beatrice will be ‘dreading’ the ‘difficult time ahead’ amid her portrayal in ‘Scoop’
Scoop debuted on April 5, 2024. With it came a depiction of Beatrice as her father, Andrew, played by Rufus Sewell, and his team negotiated with BBC Newsnight’s Sam McAlister (Billie Piper) and Emily Maitlis (Gillian Anderson).
The interview aired in November 2019. It resulted in Andrew losing his Hrh [His Royal Highness] status and being removed from the list of working royals.
Charity Wakefield plays Beatrice in Scoop, who’s seen in one scene attending a Buckingham Palace meeting.

Viewers of the Netflix drama Scoop found themselves disgusted following a scene involving Prince Andrew, portrayed by Rufus Sewell, in a bath.
The scene occurred during the portrayal of the infamous interview that led to the Duke of York’s retreat from public duties.

While the series takes creative liberties for dramatic effect, one scene, in particular, has sparked intense debate.
In the scene where the BBC airs the contentious interview where Prince Andrew vehemently denies allegations of a sexual relationship with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of assault when she was 17, the portrayal takes a startling turn.

Gillian Anderson is once again playing a character with British royal family ties in Netflix’s Scoop. (She played Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Crown.) This time, she portrays Emily Maitlis, the journalist who interviewed Prince Andrew in 2019 about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Ahead, why Anderson thought the role “seemed like a really bad idea” and turned it down. Plus, who changed her mind.

Plot: An insider account of how the women of “Newsnight” secured Prince Andrew’s infamous 2019 interview about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Review: Sometimes, pursuing a news story is as fascinating as the story itself. From All The President’s Men to Spotlight, countless films have looked at the reporters and journalists who have investigated the most significant revelations of all time and have garnered awards for the recreation of the tireless journey. The distance between the event and the dramatization often reminds audiences of the stakes at play, but Scoop chronicles a news story that occurred just six years ago. Led by Billie Piper as the producer who secured the shocking interview alongside Gillian Anderson, Romola Garai, Keeley Hawes, and Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew, Scoop has some exciting stories from an insider’s point of view. Still, it fails to generate anything we did not already get from the broadcast itself.

Scoop is a well-made but hard-to-watch film, believe me that’s a good thing. The Netflix film does everything right from its pacing to its performances giving us an insight into the subject and people behind one of the most scandalous things ever to come out of the British Royal family.
Directed by Philip Martin, Scoop sheds some light on what went on behind the scenes of Prince Andrew‘s News Night interview with Emily Maitlis which was later described as less a car crash than “a plane crashing into an oil tanker, causing a tsunami, triggering a nuclear explosion.” Prince Andrew was a close friend of Jeffrey Epstein and was also accused of molesting an underage girl, but he is still walking freely.

Supernatural, by the CW, was one of a kind. As a long-running series, the show had the unique opportunity to flesh out characters and the overarching plot throughout 15 seasons.
The CW show amassed a loyal fanbase over the years, partly due to the stories they got a chance to tell. There was a certain novelty to the show, and the creators rarely veered off this path throughout its run.
Erick Kripke, the show’s creator, utilized the seasons to the best of their abilities, telling the stories that he wanted to. The 22-episode seasons also allowed him and his team to push the limits of their creative boundaries, and they delivered each time. Moreover, he was not above using his love for The X-Files on the show, and Kripke delivered one of its best episodes ever.

Netflix doesn’t at all try to hold back from making fun of Prince Andrew in their latest film, Scoop. The Philip Martin-directed film is based on former BBC editor Sam McAlister’s book about securing one of the most sensational interviews of Prince Andrew in the history of the BBC. The context is rather grave, as the interview was focused on the grim subject of Andrew’s friendship with the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Billie Piper is electrifying as McAlister, and so is Gillian Anderson, who plays Emily Maitlis, the famous British journalist who took the interview. But it is Rufus Sewell who delivers the standout performance as the controversial Prince. However, the film still falls quite flat, as, at the end of the day, it doesn’t really offer anything substantial to the viewers. Despite all the brilliant performances, Scoop remains just another Netflix...

When Tron first appeared in 1982, it became one of the most popular sci-fi films of the era and is now considered a cult classic. A sequel, Tron: Legacy, was released in 2010 and received mixed reviews, but that did not stop Disney from producing yet another sequel. Tron: Ares is set to be the next installment in the series and will serve as a standalone sequel to the two previous movies. Production began in January 2024 and Disney has now confirmed the film’s official theatrical release date, which is going to happen on October 10, 2025!
Plans for a sequel started emerging back in 2010 after Legacy, but several ideas and projects were scrapped along the way and the sequel seemed to be stuck in developmental hell. In 2022, it was confirmed that the movie was still happening and production was set to begin in 2023, but was initially postponed indefinitely due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

It traces the admirable behind-the-scenes teamwork of McAlister, journalist and interviewer Emily Maitlis (Gillian Anderson), editor Esme Wren (Romola Garai), producer Stewart Maclean (Richard Goulding) and ultimate fact-checker Freddy (Jordan Kouamé), as well as photographer Jae Donnolly (Connor Swindells).
High stakes, adrenaline and twists and turns make “Scoop” a compelling watch, in addition to the star-stacked cast that portrays all the real-life players.

When the 2019 Newsnight interview finally blew up the time bomb that was Prince Andrew’s friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, not all of the pieces came back down to Earth in the same place. The interview that the Duke of York’s team were hoping would charm the public and rid him of his “Randy Andy” reputation achieved the opposite. Viewers found Prince Andrew to be callous and unsympathetic, while his denials of wrongdoing failed to convince many.
What followed were legal proceedings, a substantial out-of-court settlement, and a great many job resignations. From the prince to his team and the journalists behind the interview, here’s where the major players as featured in Netflix’s Scoop were left.

For every Prey or Blade Runner 2049 there are a dozen uninspired retreads of beloved old sci-fi franchises. So a Matrix reboot may not be the best news
Somewhere over the digital horizon, down the rabbit hole and straight on til morning, a new Matrix episode is brewing. After handing us three deeply average (at best) sequels to the majestic original 1999 film, studio Warner Bros has decided to hand the keys of the Nebuchadnezzar to Drew Goddard, whose writing credits include The Martian, The Cabin in the Woods, and Cloverfield. It’s probably a good idea, because the series’ creators, Lana and Lilly Wachowski, have clearly run out of ideas if 2021’s completely superfluous The Matrix Resurrections is anything to go by.
Resurrections joined the ranks of belated sequels to science fiction and fantasy totems that never quite live up to the standards of the original, yet somehow still keep coming.
