Now You See Me is arguably one of the most underrated heist-thriller franchises of the past decade: despite its high production budgets, star-studded ensemble cast, and absolute commercial success at the global box office, the films have barely been mentioned in the media and on social media platforms nearly 8 years after the release of the second installment.
However, from 2020 to 2023, Lionsgate has been actively releasing information about the upcoming sequel, teasing fans of the film series with updates on the production process. And now, just over a week ago, the media giant announced that Now You See Me 3 is already in post-production, and with that came exciting details about the upcoming cast.
What makes this news so exciting is that Lionsgate will be correcting a mistake that disappointed audiences with the release of the second film, as one of the central and certainly incredibly memorable characters was not able to reprise their role.

When Christopher Nolan Revealed That Tom Hardy Based His Menacing ‘Bane’ On The Dark Knight Rises Maker ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
People wait eagerly for any and every Christopher Nolan movie, and his Batman movies starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne are still considered one of the best comic book films ever. It gave us the classic villain in Heath Ledger’s Joker, and Tom Hardy as Bane was also quite memorable. Hardy did an exceptional job as the anti-hero in The Dark Knight Rises. But did you know it was the film’s director on whom Hardy based his menacing character?
It was the last movie in Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy and came out around four years after the release of 2008’s The Dark Knight. The movie had an ensemble cast of Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman, besides Bale and Hardy.

It didn’t happen at Universal’s presentation, but we finally got a Christopher Nolan announcement at CinemaCon 2024.
On Thursday morning, Paramount Pictures’ President of Domestic Distribution Chris Aronson revealed that Nolan’s “Interstellar” will return to theaters on September 27, 2024 in both 70mm and IMAX formats. The re-release is a celebration of the film’s 10-year anniversary. It is probably also — at least somewhat — a continued celebration of Nolan’s Best Picture-winner “Oppenheimer.”
Of course, the “Oppenheimer” victory isn’t for Paramount to tout, and its studio Universal took a brief victory lap (or two) during its own Wednesday afternoon Colosseum presentation. The on-stage champagne-popping split time with “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” and included a prerecorded message from Nolan. (He did not touch on “Mario.”)
In the package played for a packed house of (mostly) exhibitors, Nolan said he had been “very nervous” about showing “Oppenheimer” footage to the same CinemaCon audience last year.

Britain’s contributions to the cinematic form have been vast and glorious. Aardman Animation. Alfred Hitchcock. Olivia Colman. 007. High up that list, too, is the British gangster movie – sure, America may often get the genre limelight with classics like Goodfellas, The Godfather trilogy, and Scarface, but nobody does dark, gritty, violent, and darkly humorous quite like the British. You certainly wouldn’t catch football-hardman-turned-movie-hardman Vinnie Jones rolling down the street with some poor geezer’s bonce trapped in his car window anywhere else, that’s for sure!
And so, with tracksuits on, geezer nicknames doled out, and knuckles dusted, Team Empire assembled a list of the very best British gangster movies ever made. From comedy classics, to bruising turn-of-the-century tales of brutality and crime, to contemporary subversions of the genre formula, we’ve covered all bases. These are films of culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog,...

Three years after the first James Bond film, "Dr. No," a handful of folks who were working on the existing James Bond movies temporarily splintered off to make a completely different kind of spy film. 1965's "The Ipcress File" stars Michael Caine as Harry Palmer, a British secret agent who is much more interested in cooking a high quality meal than skiing off a cliff or dropping quippy one-liners after creatively killing his enemies. There are no scantily clad women, no suggestive double entendres, and no laser beams or gadgets -- in many ways, it's the anti-James Bond movie.
All the more interesting, then, that a handful of key Bond players helped bring this story to the big screen. "The Ipcress File" was scored by John Barry, who was responsible for that iconic James Bond theme song and composed the score for several early Bond pictures, including "Goldfinger" (coincidentally, Michael...

Since the inception of the Academy Awards, the U.S.-based organization behind them has always strived to honor worldwide film achievements. Their extensive roster of competitive acting winners alone consists of artists from 30 unique countries, three of which first gained representation during the 2020s. The last full decade’s worth of triumphant performers hail from eight countries, while 42.1% of the individual actors nominated during that time originate from outside of America.
The academy’s history of recognizing acting talent on a global scale dates all the way back to the inaugural Oscars ceremony in 1929, when Swiss-born Emil Jannings (who was of German and American parentage) won Best Actor for his work in both “The Last Command” and “The Way of All Flesh.” Over the next three years, the Best Actress prize was exclusively awarded to Canadians: Mary Pickford (“Coquette”), Norma Shearer (“The Divorcee”), and Marie Dressler (“Min and Bill...

Cillian Murphy’s Oscars win was special on many grounds, primarily his first Christopher Nolan film as a lead in their sixth collaboration. Oppenheimer is a remarkable film, and Nolan’s vision added to the aesthetic grandness of the biopic, turning it into a cinematic masterpiece.

It’s always nice to see the deserved films get recognition on the night of the Oscars, but there have been a more than few instances when things don’t go as fans imagined. While started as the ceremony to celebrate the best films, over the course of 96 years, there have been several notable snubs, including the Academy’s decision to crown Green Book over BlacKkKlansman.
But the most infamous snub in the Academy’s history, which changed the Award landscape for all the years to come, involves Miramax’s Shakespeare in Love, which defeated Saving Private Ryan.

Robert Downey Jr. looks to have Best Supporting Actor locked up after he swept the precursors for his sterling turn in Christopher Nolan‘s “Oppenheimer.” But while Downey Jr. would be more than a deserving winner for his phenomenal performance, the Oscars always throws up a surprise or two on the actual night. Could we see an upset in Best Supporting Actor?
Downey Jr. is nominated alongside Ryan Gosling (“Barbie”), Mark Ruffalo (“Poor Things”), Sterling K. Brown (“American Fiction”), and Robert De Niro (“Killers of the Flower Moon”). Gosling has lots of support for his sublime “Barbie” performance while Ruffalo and Brown also have their backers, too. However, the legendary De Niro could prove to be the closest challenger to Downey Jr. thanks to his iconic career and status.

Christopher Nolan is a true cinephile and one of the last remaining purists in cinema history. With a celebrated filmography filled with sci-fi epics, cult favorites, and one timeless trilogy, he has been making films for over 20 years. The mastermind behind The Dark Knight trilogy, Nolan, is acknowledged for his intricate storytelling and complex characters.
However, there is one line from The Dark Knight (2008) that has stuck with him over the years, and it wasn’t even written by him. In a recent interview with Deadline, the director, 53, admitted that he continues to be perturbed by the famous line, “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain”. The line was written by his brother, Jonathan Nolan, and has haunted the Oppenheimer director ever since.

Christopher Nolan has continued to gain major acclaim for his work in the filmmaking world. From Memento to Oppenheimer, his unique way of blending his complex storytelling with marvelous cinematic techniques has captivated audiences worldwide. While each of his projects showcases a unique aesthetic, his work on Interstellar continues to be one of his most ambitious projects to date.

The dystopian sci-fi film "Logan's Run" is set in a supposedly idyllic future society where residents above 30 mysteriously disappear. The hedonistic metropolis is enclosed by a dome, and those who choose to explore the world outside — and the secrets that it holds — are labeled "runners." Michael York stars in the film as the titular protagonist, an undercover police officer who infiltrates the runners only to find that he, too, opposes the laws that he once worked to uphold and helps them lead an uprising.
"Logan's Run" was nominated for its cinematography and set decoration in the 1977 Academy Awards. It even received a special achievement award for its visual effects. The futuristic set and costume design were almost identical to the smash-hit sci-fi adventure film "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope," which was released the following year. It's possible that "Star Wars" even drew inspiration from the 1976 film. However,...

Playing James Bond is often viewed as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, coveted by actors worldwide. However, American actors have consistently been denied the chance to portray this iconic character on screen. Whether due to contractual constraints or the character’s British nationality, Bond has been portrayed by actors from various backgrounds, including Scottish, Irish, Australian, and English, but never American.
Despite this barrier, there have been moments when American actors nearly became James Bond, with some even signing contracts with the production house.

With Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy marked their sixth collaboration. Celebrating the biggest movie of Murphy’s career as a lead, the movie secured 13 Oscar nods. However, there is still a void in their collaboration and Murphy has not shied away from pouting about it.
Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer
Fans may believe that the unavoidable bond between Murphy and Nolan has been the longest and everlasting, of course, it is but the Irish actor still has a complaint. Murphy was opted out of the cast of one of Nolan’s sci-fi epics that redefined the space narrative and is considered one of the best since Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi epic 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Exclusive: Intimacy coordinators could find themselves out of a job if they are indiscreet with the privacy of the filmmakers they work with, SAG-AFTRA says.

Tenet is a 2020 science fiction movie helmed by Christopher Nolan starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kenneth Branagh. The director spent five years perfecting the script of the film because of its tricky and complicated idea.
Tenet (2020)
One of the movie’s notable features is the concept alluding to the laws of physics. It rapidly gained a cult following of science fiction enthusiasts because of its exploration of the subjects of time travel and entropy. However, Nolan insisted that Tenet is not a time travel movie so he provided a breakdown of the film for its upcoming re-release in theaters.

Given the number of high-wattage films garnering multiple nominations at the BAFTAs this year, the rationing of awards was always likely unpredictable on the night. And so it proved, meaning that The Zone of Interest and Poor Things had already nibbled away at Oppenheimer’s chances of a decent sweep before the Best Director award came round. With Poor Things director Yorgo Lanthimos inexplicably left out of the race, a category snub this year for Christopher Nolan would absolutely have sent a signal to the British-American director.
Luckily, the fates were smiling, and Nolan finally got his hands on that BAFTA. By any metric, a win is a long time overdue for this artist, whose films attracted a cult audience out of the gate and who then swiftly monetized that formula — smart, character-based genre pieces — for the mainstream. But for a crew craft awards and an acting award for the late Heath Ledger,...

Christopher Nolan’s latest awards contender Oppenheimer markets itself as the director’s sixth collaboration with actor Cillian Murphy. But notably missing from the A-list ensemble is Nolan’s most frequent star and popcorn movie muse, Michael Caine. Accepting a career honor recently, Nolan fondly recalled Caine jokingly “breaking up” with him over not casting the actor in his biopic of the atomic bomb’s creator. It seems after eight iconic joint projects spanning nearly 20 years, Caine is ready to end their shared run unless Nolan can coax him back.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was the surprise warm-up act at a prestigious film industry event in London on Wednesday night that saw Oppenheimer director — and BAFTA and Oscar front runner — Christopher Nolan receive the British Film Institute Fellowship Award for his outstanding contribution to cinema.
The premier hailed Nolan — whose credits also include the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception and Dunkirk — as “undoubtedly one of our preeminent filmmakers.”
However, before doing so, he delivered quips with an aplomb that had guests seated in the ballroom of London’s Rosewood Hotel in stitches.
“Politics is showbusiness for ugly people,” Sunak declared. The room liked that one, even though the line’s a golden oldie.
“So, I was pleasantly surprised,” he continued, “when I was recently mistaken for Timothée Chalamet.”
Then with a well-timed pause, he added, “At least, I think that’s why they were shouting ‘Wonka’ at me.”

“Politics is showbusiness for ugly people,” Sunak declared. The room liked that one, even though the line’s a golden oldie.
“So, I was pleasantly surprised,” he continued, “when I was recently mistaken for Timothée Chalamet.”

The actor passed away at a young age but left his mark in the world. He won several accolades, including the Golden Globes and the Academy Award for his portrayal.
Recently, during this year’s Golden Globes ceremony, Nolan revealed that the last he was on the stage, he was accepting an award for Heath. Hence, it was an emotional moment for the filmmaker. It’s Oscar night 1987, Jeff Bridges and Sigourney Weaver are dressed up all fancy, ready to tear open that majestic envelope and read the name of the best supporting actor of the year. The competition was tough but when but the victor of the night was that of Sir Michael Caine for his wonderful performance in the Woody Allen flick Hannah and Her Sisters. Among the various distinctions “Everything Everywhere All at Once” incurred by winning seven awards at the 95th Oscars was becoming the first film in a dozen years (and ninth overall) to conquer both supporting acting categories. This rare occurrence involved Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis preventing their respective “The Banshees of Inisherin” competitors from accomplishing the same goal, as the sets of featured nominees from “Belfast” and “The Power of the Dog” had both failed to do one year earlier. Now, two more pairs of cast mates – who happen to hail from the two highest-grossing live action movies of 2023 – are gunning for entry into this exclusive club.

Christopher Nolan has built his name up over the years to the point that he’s widley considered the greatest director or our generation. His latest film, Oppenheimer, seems bound to finally win him an elusive best director Oscar. But, in the wild build up to his latest movie, many failed to consider his last movie, Tenet, which was unusually divisive for the director. With it set for a nationwide re-release next month, now’s a good time to look back on a movie that’s winning more and more fans every year.
Tenet was born from a simple idea that came to him while making his breakout hit Memento over 20 years ago. While putting that film together, he thought of a single image that helped him crack the way in which to tell a backwards story. The image was that of a bullet being sucked out of a wall.
