“Ready or Not” directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin are ready for their horror movie’s sequel — and they say the new script is a masterpiece.
The collaborators and producing partner Chad Villella (aka Radio Silence as a trio) told Entertainment Weekly in an interview out Monday that they’ve been working on “Ready or Not 2” since the original came out in 2019. Plus, it sounds like they’ve got an “absolute f—king banger” on their hands.
“It’s getting figured out,” Gillett explained about the film, which has yet to be officially greenlit. “That’s what we’ll say: ‘Ready or Not 2’ is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f—ing banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it’s happening.

In Hear Me Out, Primetimer staffers and contributors espouse their pet theories, spicy takes, and even the occasional galaxy-brain idea.
The Way Home is one of the most unsuspected surprises to come out of Hallmark. It's a family drama about an estranged mother and daughter coming together after not speaking for almost two decades following a family tragedy. It also is about time travel, thanks to a mysterious pond attached to the family farm. The first season focuses on Kat (Chyler Leigh) returning home with her teenage daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) to try and heal in the midst of Kat's divorce. That healing also means patching things up with Kat's mother, Del (Andie MacDowell).

But the present scenes end before he steps inside to reunite with their mother, Del (Andie MacDowell) and meet Kat’s daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow), because then we go back to the past—and see that someone else has been time-traveling: Colton (Jefferson Brown)! We have the 2019 hit Ready or Not to thank for landing directors Radio Silence the keys to the Scream franchise, the film released into theaters in August 2019 and scaring up $57.6 million at the worldwide box office. The Samara Weaving-starring fan favorite was made on a production budget of just $6 million, making it a nice little hit for Fox Searchlight.
So where the hell is Ready or Not 2, you ask?!
Jeff Sneider reports on The Insneider this week that Ready or Not 2 is in development, with director Adam Robitel currently in talks to direct the sequel.
Sneider additionally reports that Samara Weaving will return for Ready or Not 2, once again playing the character Grace. In the first Ready or Not, Grace is a bride whose wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game.

Ready or Not was a deliciously twisted play on the concept of meeting the family of one’s fiancée. Samara Waving plays a young woman who is invited on the night of her wedding by her new husband’s rich, eccentric family to participate in a time-honored tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival. The horror comedy also starred Adam Brody, Mark O’Brien, Elyse Levesque, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell and was directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who have gone on to direct Scream (2022) and Scream VI.
Ready or Not was written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. However, Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett are currently involved with a new Universal Monsters project, so they will not be returning for Ready or Not 2. Instead, ComingSoon.net reports that Escape Room director Adam Robitel will be taking the reins for the sequel. The scoop comes from industry source,...

In a perfect world, Leap Day would entail some celebrations. Not to worry, though. This 30 Rock episode, starring an iconic Jim Carrey and Andie MacDowell cameo, has your back. Gear up for blue and yellow-themed festivities and, of course, a fictional movie that can give even Groundhog Day a run for its money! Be careful about getting your eyes poked, though.
The titular ninth episode of the sixth season of the Tina Fey-starring satirical sitcom series honors this fake holiday, concocting a blend of tropes seen in most films centered around such celebratory occasions.
Jim Carrey is a fictional character, Dave Williams, in the 30 Rock universe!
Leap Day is portrayed in the show’s mythology as an occurrence that calls for parties and celebrations. And like all great holidays, this one, too, puts the emphasis on a cultural mascot. Here, that is a gilled entity who sports...

Plot: Cash is trying to live an honest and quiet life, but when Big Cat forces him back into her services, he proves capable of anything to protect the town and the only family he has left.
Review: After 2020’s Fatman, I’ve been patiently waiting to see what the Nelms Brothers would get up to with their next venture. Their more low-budget approach to action has a lot of potential, especially with the right lead. And while they don’t have Mel Gibson, they do have Orlando Bloom re-entering the action genre. But this isn’t some bombastic, new take on blockbusters. Red Right Hand is similar to the action fare you’d find in the bargain bin at Walmart. The action itself is very staged and low impact. And the story fails to surprise, following down the same expected path that these movies often take. But there are some moments that stand out.

Although many parts of the country are still in the “deep freeze”, many folks are looking ahead to the big thaw and traveling during Spring Break. And it’s only natural that the multiplex will have a new roadtrip romp to get everyone “in the mood”. Oh, but this film differs from those we’ve seen in previous years. First, it’s set in that far-off land of 1999. And rather than a couple of teenage male buddies (or even a group as in Losin’ It), it’s focused on two twenty-something young women. Perhaps, it’s a riff on Where The Boys Are, and you would be very wrong as they don’t care about such a location (ahem). Plus it should be of interest to Cinephiles as this is the first solo directing effort for one half of a much-lauded filmmaking team. He’s actually behind the steering wheel along with these Drive-away Dolls.

Chicago – It was a special February 2nd, 2024, in Chicago. Not only was it the quasi-midwinter holiday Groundhog Day, but cast members of the 1993 classic film “Groundhog Day” – including Bill Murray, his brother Brian Doyle Murray and others – made appearances on the famous Navy Pier to honor the late director of the film, Harold Ramis. From this year forward, February 2nd will be Harold Ramis Day in Chicago.
The beloved film tells the story of Phil (Bill Murray), a Pittsburgh weatherman who is assigned with Producer Rita (Andie MacDowell) and Cameraman Larry (Chris Elliott) to cover the Groundhog Day ceremony in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania (Brian Doyle Murray portrays city official Buster Green). When a snowstorm strands them in the small town, Phil wakes up to find out its February 2nd yet again. He is now stuck in a time loop,...

Fans of The Way Home may wish they could jump forward a week in time this Sunday. The Hallmark Channel time-travel drama normally airs new episodes on Sunday nights. But the show is taking a break on Feb. 11.
A new episode of ‘The Way Home’ won’t air on Feb. 11 David Webster as Elliot, Alex Hook as Kat, Siddharth Sharma as Brady, Samuel Braun as Nick, and Monique Jasmine Paul as Monica in ‘The Way Home’ Season 2 Episode 4 | Credit: ©2024 Hallmark Media/Photographer: Peter Stranks
The Way Home is switching up its schedule on Super Bowl Sunday. Millions of people will be glued to their TVs to watch as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers (and perhaps get a glimpse of Taylor Swift cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce). So, perhaps it’s not a huge surprise that Hallmark has opted to give the show a week off.

Grant played a naughtier...
