In a perfect world, Leap Day would entail some celebrations. Not to worry, though. This 30 Rock episode, starring an iconic Jim Carrey and Andie MacDowell cameo, has your back. Gear up for blue and yellow-themed festivities and, of course, a fictional movie that can give even Groundhog Day a run for its money! Be careful about getting your eyes poked, though.
The titular ninth episode of the sixth season of the Tina Fey-starring satirical sitcom series honors this fake holiday, concocting a blend of tropes seen in most films centered around such celebratory occasions.
Jim Carrey is a fictional character, Dave Williams, in the 30 Rock universe!
Leap Day is portrayed in the show’s mythology as an occurrence that calls for parties and celebrations. And like all great holidays, this one, too, puts the emphasis on a cultural mascot. Here, that is a gilled entity who sports...

Plot: Cash is trying to live an honest and quiet life, but when Big Cat forces him back into her services, he proves capable of anything to protect the town and the only family he has left.
Review: After 2020’s Fatman, I’ve been patiently waiting to see what the Nelms Brothers would get up to with their next venture. Their more low-budget approach to action has a lot of potential, especially with the right lead. And while they don’t have Mel Gibson, they do have Orlando Bloom re-entering the action genre. But this isn’t some bombastic, new take on blockbusters. Red Right Hand is similar to the action fare you’d find in the bargain bin at Walmart. The action itself is very staged and low impact. And the story fails to surprise, following down the same expected path that these movies often take. But there are some moments that stand out.

You’ve never seen Orlando Bloom like this before. In Red Right Hand, theThe Lord of the Rings, and Carnival Row star plays Cash, a gruff, gritty, and internalized alpha male trying to stay out of trouble. Fate won’t have it. Despite Cash’s efforts to live a quiet life while caring for his recently widowed brother-in-law and niece, he is forced back into the services of kill-happy kingpin, Big Cat (Andie MacDowell).
If you love moody action films boasting elaborately choreographed shootouts and a breathtaking climactic ending, then Red Right Hand, directed by Ian and Eshom Nelms, is your next go-to. But if you’ve seen the film’s poster, one immediate question comes to mind: Are those really Orlando Bloom’s thick veins busting out of his bulky biceps and forearms? No photoshopping here, folks. “They are [his],” laughed Eshom Nelms.

Red Right Hand is a character-driven modern Western, differing from typical action thrillers, centered on redemption and family. Orlando Bloom shines as conflicted Cash, balancing stoicism with desperation, navigating morality, and survival. The film's strong narrative is undercut by conventional execution, missing the mark on thematic depth and a satisfying ending.
Red Right Hand follows a familiar trajectory and fits neatly into the growing modern Western sub-genre currently led by the likes of Yellowstone. Although classified as an action thriller, these elements are pretty tame despite graphic violence and bloodshed. The film follows a more character-driven story, with our lead, Cash (Orlando Bloom), grappling with his past as he is resolved to live a peaceful life with his brother-in-law and niece.

Although many parts of the country are still in the “deep freeze”, many folks are looking ahead to the big thaw and traveling during Spring Break. And it’s only natural that the multiplex will have a new roadtrip romp to get everyone “in the mood”. Oh, but this film differs from those we’ve seen in previous years. First, it’s set in that far-off land of 1999. And rather than a couple of teenage male buddies (or even a group as in Losin’ It), it’s focused on two twenty-something young women. Perhaps, it’s a riff on Where The Boys Are, and you would be very wrong as they don’t care about such a location (ahem). Plus it should be of interest to Cinephiles as this is the first solo directing effort for one half of a much-lauded filmmaking team. He’s actually behind the steering wheel along with these Drive-away Dolls.

The Way Home is switching up its schedule on Super Bowl Sunday. Millions of people will be glued to their TVs to watch as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers (and perhaps get a glimpse of Taylor Swift cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce). So, perhaps it’s not a huge surprise that Hallmark has opted to give the show a week off.

Why do we love Hugh Grant? Let us count the swoony ways. Is it the adorably impish smile and mischievous blue eyes? The floppy hair? Or the self-deprecating charm? In a word, yes! The dashing British actor has set our hearts (and minds) aflutter ever since his hapless commitment-phobe Charles stumbled through his “I think I love you” speech to Andie MacDowell’s independent American in 1994’s Four Weddings and a Funeral (on Prime Video). He was adorably tongue-tied again the following year in Emma Thompson’s Oscar-winning adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility (on Pluto TV) as Edward, whose long-repressed romantic feelings for Elinor Dashwood (Thompson) set up a happy ending. A few years later, we fell just as hard for his diffident, divorced London bookseller as fellow rom-com favorite Julia Roberts’ movie star did in 1999’s Notting Hill (also on Prime Video). Grant played a naughtier...

When it comes to Bill Murray, the word “enigmatic” might be the best adjective. He’s obviously an amazing talent — there’s hardly a movie in which you don’t remember him delivering something memorable — plus, some colleagues have recounted their experience with Bill as nothing short of fantastic; although, there are some who aren’t quite as complimentary. Andie MacDowell appears to fall in the first camp. In making the movie Groundhog Day, Andie told us that he was as about as good of a co-star as one could ask for.

Ok, campers, rise and shine and don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cold out there today. It’s cold out there every day! But this isn’t Miami Beach and it’s not even Punxsutawney. Heck, it’s not even Woodstock, Illinois, where Groundhog Day was shot. No, it’s Chicago, the location of a celebration not only of the 1993 comedy but also the life of director Harold Ramis.
Today, February 2nd, of course marks Groundhog Day, when thousands of people gather to freeze their butts off and worship a rat. But for many of us today is more about the movie. And that’s just what will be commemorated at Chicago’s Navy Pier when a selection of the cast gathers to remember Groundhog Day and Ramis, who passed away in February 2014.

"What would you do if you were stuck in one place, and everything that you did was the same, and nothing mattered?"
In one of his finest roles, Bill Murray plays sarcastic and arrogant Pittsburgh weather forecaster Phil Connors in Harold Ramis' 1993 masterpiece, Groundhog Day. Phil believes that he's destined for far greater things in life than local television, so he resents the seemingly menial task of reporting on the annual Groundhog Day celebration in small-town Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. With a blizzard standing in his way of returning home, the meteorological diva finds himself stuck in the quaint "tiny village in Western Pennsylvania" for the night.
As he awakens the next day, he finds it is not the next day at all, and that he is actually re-living February 2nd, or Groundhog Day, all over again. The journey that the audience takes with this character's extraordinary self-development feels entirely organic (largely...

Exclusive: Saban Films has set the U.S. release date for Knox Goes Away, the thriller marking Michael Keaton’s second feature behind the camera, in which he also stars opposite Al Pacino, James Marsden, Marcia Gay Harden and more. Pic will bow exclusively in theaters nationwide on March 15, having launched out of last year’s Toronto Film Festival.
Scripted by Gregory Poirier (National Treasure: Book of Secrets), Knox Goes Away has Keaton playing John Knox, a hit man attempting to make amends before his recently discovered dementia takes over. Aided by a trusted friend (Pacino) with his own shady past, Knox races against the police — and his own rapidly deteriorating mind — to save his estranged son (Marsden) from a vengeance-fueled mistake and “cash out” before it’s too late.
Also starring in the pic are Suzy Nakamura, John Hoogenakker, Joanna Kulig, Ray McKinnon and Lela Loren. In addition to Keaton,...

Time travel is a tricky thing. In The Way Home’s first season, Kat, Alice, and Elliot thought they had figured out some of the pond’s rules, including that you couldn’t change the past and that it would always send you where you needed to go. But it turns out the pond still has plenty of secrets, as we’re beginning to discover in season 2 of the Hallmark Channel series. In episode 2, “Hanging By a Moment,” Kat and Alice go on separate journeys, while Del and Elliot face their own challenges in the present.

In Hallmark Channel’s The Way Home, a recently divorced woman with a teenage daughter returns to her hometown. Once there, she reconnects with her estranged mother – and discovers that a pond on the family farm is actually a time portal. The show, which stars Chyler Leigh, Sadie Laflamme-Snow, and Andie MacDowell, marries family drama with a time travel mystery, as Kat (Leigh) tries to discover what happened to her younger brother Jacob, who vanished 20 years earlier.
The Way Home delivers plenty of intriguing twists and emotional moments. And in true Hallmark Channel fashion, it also boasts a picture-perfect setting. Kat, her daughter Alice (Laflamme-Snow), and her mom Del (MacDowell) live in the coastal town of Port Haven, New Brunswick, which boasts quaint coffee shops and a picturesque beach. But where was the show actually filmed?
