“If somebody cast a spell on me and I got stuck as Starfish I think I’d be happy with that,” says SAG Award winner Kate Flannery while discussing her time as the sea creature on Fox’s “The Masked Singer.” “Each song was a joy and it’s great to sing with backup dancers. A ton of backup dancers, and confetti, and balloons, and people on bikes. It was nuts!” Watch her exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.
As Starfish, Kate sang “Under Pressure” by Queen on “Queen Night.” Following Ugly Sweater’s (Charlie Wilson) elimination, Starfish lost a hard-fought Battle Royale to Goldfish. Panelist Ken Jeong was able to identify the star of “The Office,” but his colleagues Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg and Rita Ora were off the mark, guessing Kate McKinnon, Lisa Kudrow and Amy Schumer, respectively.

Have you ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes of your favorite television show? Olivia Williams, a guest star on the hit NBC sitcom Friends, recently opened up about her “harrowing” time on set.
Even though Friends’ last episode aired in 2004, the sitcom is still a popular choice for comfort and comedy in today’s world. Getting cast as a guest star, thus, must have been a huge thrill back in the nineties. It meant getting closer to the main stars and also becoming more widely recognized. Some actors, though, have been candid about their less-than-refined experiences.

Olivia Williams, the BAFTA-winning actress and recent SAG Awards nominee as an ensemble member for her performance as Camilla Parker Bowles on “The Crown,” has worked on the British stage in classic and new productions. But in a new interview, she points to a beloved American sitcom as an “alarming” and “harrowing” experience when compared to other gigs.
Williams appeared as a bridesmaid in the fourth season finale, in which Ross (David Schwimmer) married Emily (Helen Baxendale) in London. (You may recall some zany hijinks at some historic landmarks.) Speaking with The Independent, the actress recalled the “alarming” experience of sharing a car with an elderly actress Williams described as “distinguished” and “very good” who was later berated by a producer and told, “You’re not funny!” According to Williams, the unnamed performer was not on set the following day.
“‘Friends’ was a brand,” she continued, “and you had to fit the brand.

Whenever we are watching a movie all series we tend to connect our emotions to that particular content and the same is the case with the characters that are going to be part of that particular project.

Jimmy Fallon and Maya Rudolph Reminisce on Will Ferrell’s Various ‘SNL’ Behind-the-Scenes Alter Egos
Maya Rudolph reunited with her former Saturday Night Live castmate Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Tuesday night, where they reminisced over co-star Will Ferrell’s behind-the-scenes antics at Studio 8H.
Fallon asked Rudolph if she remembered a character that the Anchorman star created on set.
“Are you talking about Chip Kudrow or Ron?” interrupted Rudolph.
The host noted that the character he was thinking of was Chip Kudrow, a persona that Ferrell used for an ongoing bit, where he pretended to be Lisa Kudrow’s brother.
Rudolph explained, “Will Ferrell had a character named Chip Kudrow who would just show up at our pitch meetings.”
It’s clear that Ferrell had various alter egos on set, as Fallon asked Rudolph if Chip was the one who wore a referee shirt or overalls. This prompted Fallon to mention another one of the Barbie star’s characters, named Ron.

A new rumor has the internet buzzing. This new rumor says that Disney is going to reboot the popular 1980s hit show “The Golden Girls” with a new cast, including Tina Fey as Dorothy, Amy Poehler as Sophia, Lisa Kudrow as Rose, and Maya Rudolph as Blanche. It is rumored to have ten episodes and will be released this summer on Disney+.
Is this true?
No. It’s yet another satirical post from the Facebook Page Yoda Bby Aby.
It was part of a bunch of joke posts they made about new films and shows coming to Disney+, including Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya starring in a new “Splash” movie, Andrew Garfield and Megan Fox in a remake of “Mannequin,” and Zendaya as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
None of it is real. It’s completely fake and none of these are in production. It’s just another joke on the internet.

The cast of Friends will always be there for us, but it might just be in the form of re-runs of the beloved sitcom.
Believe it or not, it’s been more than three years since series stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry got back together to film a one-off reunion for HBO.
The cast suffered a terrible loss in late 2023 after Matthew‘s sudden death at the age of 54 in October. His remaining castmates issued a joint statement honoring him and have paid tribute frequently since then.
Friends is on our minds again after Jennifer and David reunited for a Super Bowl commercial. It got us wondering if we’d ever see the remaining cast together on our TV screens again.
In the era of unexpected (and sometimes long-awaited) sequels or spinoffs, fans continue to hold out hope. But what are the chances?...

Jennifer Aniston totally forgets about starring alongside David Schwimmer in Friends in the latest Super Bowl commercial for Uber Eats.
In the ad spot, which intends to showcase that people have to forget something else to remember that Uber Eats delivers almost anything, the actress gets an online delivery while working on set.
“I didn’t know you could get all this stuff on Uber Eats,” a crew member says, before Aniston adds, “Yeah, well you know what they say, ‘In order to remember something, you’ve got to forget something else.’ Make a little room.”
Schwimmer later runs into Aniston and is excited to see his old friend and former co-star, but the actress doesn’t feel quite the same way. “Have we met?” she asks.
After asking for a hint, Schwimmer says, “Worked together for 10 years.” Aniston responds in shock, “10 years!”

Mira Sorvino confirms that she and Lisa Kudrow are finalising contracts for Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion 2. More here.
It was all the way back in 1997 that out of the blue, Hollywood gave us a pair of impressive high school reunion movies. First up, in the UK at least, was Grosse Pointe Blank, starring John Cusack. That had the better reviews and initial response at the time. Yet since then, it’s Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion that’s come far more to the fore.
Starring Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow, and directed by David Mirkin, the original film – as discussed in an old Film Stories podcast episode here – was penned by Robin Schiff. She based it on a 1988 stage production called Ladies Room, and it was revealed a little while back that she was cooking up a Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion 2.

Actress Scarlett Johansson finally escaped our long-running photo gallery of the greatest living actresses to never receive an Oscar nomination. And she did it in grand style by picking up two for her 2019 films “Marriage Story” and “Jojo Rabbit.” Just recently, Kirsten Dunst had been in our gallery for years and then earned her first Academy Award bid for “The Power of the Dog.” Emily Blunt was finally nominated for “Oppenheimer” years after winning her first SAG Award for “A Quiet Place.”
In 2014, “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston looked like a lock to receive her first Academy Award nomination for “Cake,” following citations at the Golden Globes, SAG, and Broadcast Film Critics. Yet on Oscar morning, the Emmy-winner was left out. Aniston’s “Friends” costar and fellow Emmy-victor Lisa Kudrow found herself in a similar situation when she received an Independent Spirit Awards nomination for “The Opposite of Sex” yet came up short at the Oscars.

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards had a number of cast reunions, from Cheers to Grey’s Anatomy. One that was noticeably missing was that of Friends, especially considering the October loss of Matthew Perry. And while it would have been a touching moment, that is precisely why the surviving cast didn’t take the stage last Monday.
As one Emmy producer told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s still very fresh for them.” Another added that a Friends reunion was on the table but the timing wasn’t sensitive. “We had talked about it early on — but I can imagine, from their side, they’re mourning someone who was still very close to them. I can’t speak for them, but we all have to respect that they were their own family. It was probably just a little too soon.”
