Tis the season for the seasoned!
All the other Christmas movies can go ahead, pack it up, and go home.
Why? Because Ladies of the '80s: A Divas Christmas just has that magic.
No one can quite deliver like veteran actresses, and there wasn't a single moment of this film that wasn't delightful.
Lifetime can strike gold when it comes to reuniting stars of yesteryear, from series to films for productions like this, especially Christmas films.
A Christmas Spark was the perfect Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman reunion and was one of the network's best Christmas films in recent years.
They've also succeeded in bringing us little reunions every holiday season.
But reuniting and bringing together some of the most iconic women from soaps was no easy feat, and it made for a holiday film that left viewers squealing in glee whether they were soap fans or not.

Tonight, Lifetime will jump on the sentimental trend of reuniting veteran actresses for our giddy enjoyment by airing Ladies of the 80s: A Divas Christmas, a festive romp that stars Loni Anderson (Wkrp in Cincinnati), Morgan Fairchild (Falcon Crest), Linda Gray (Dallas), Donna Mills (Knots Landing) and Nicollette Sheridan (Knots Landing).
The holiday flick from longtime producer Larry A. Thompson (Liz & Dick) follows five soap opera divas as they reunite to shoot the final Christmas episode of their long-running sudser.
“I’ve known all these ladies all these years,” he told Deadline. “We’ve worked together, made movies together, and Donna Mills I’ve managed since Knot’s Landing and I still do. So between managing Donna and being friends with the ladies, I said it might be fun to have all these ladies in a movie. Manager/producer Larry Thompson is making another run for a Southern California congressional seat, this time in a district represented by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-ca).
Thompson has entered the race as a Republican, after seeking a seat as an independent in 2020.
In his kickoff statement, Thompson noted that he had been a talent representative for 50 years and as “either their lawyer or personal manager I have spent a career listening, caring, nurturing, planning, marketing, negotiating, and enhancing their personas and lives. I now want to be a ‘Representative’ of the people who live in our California 32nd District to do those things for them even more profoundly, give them a voice, and empower their lives.”
Thompson said that he is running as a moderate Republican seeking common ground and said that “the polarized political positions in our nation have become dangerous in many ways.” On issues, he cites the need...

Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
Netflix has taken an odd approach to promoting Elite Season 7.
We've had random teasers on social media that haven't given much of the plot away,
Now, three days before its premiere date, we have a full-length promo that teases what's on the horizon.
Off the bat, I'm not interested in going back to Las Encinas.
Bringing Omar Ayuso back made me think that a change of scenery was on the menu.
Unfortunately, that isn't the case.
We see that Omar is still trying to piece together his thoughts about Samuel's death at the end of Elite Season 5.
New cast members for Elite Season 7 include Mirela Balic, Gleb Abrosimov, Nadia Al Saidi, Fernando Líndez, Alejandro Albarracín, Iván Mendes, and Maribel Verdú.
They join Elite Season 6 cast members Valentina Zenere, Andre Lamoglia, Carmen Arrufat, Alex Pastrana, Alvaro de Juana,...

Desperate Housewives delivered no shortage of drama, both on and off the screen. The soapy ABC series was known both for its juicy plotlines and feuds among the cast. The on-set tension even extended to those who weren’t in front of the camera, according to writer Patty Lin, who worked on the show in its first season.

When Max Mutchnick and David Kohan pitched “Will & Grace” to NBC, the pair were tasked with creating a replacement for “Mad About You.”
“We went and wrote a basic heterosexual love story and their neighbors were these two,” Mutchnick said, referring to stars Eric McCormack and Debra Messing. “And [former NBC entertainment president] Warren Littlefield, to his credit, said, ‘You two seem to really have a vibe on [those friends] next door.’ That’s how the show came to be. They were part of a different ensemble.”
“Our objective was to write an entertaining show about these people that we knew. That was really it,” Kohan added. “We also weren’t trying to be bold. We were actually trying to just say on the air.”
Initially, McCormack was paired with Marin Hinkle.

Hollywood comedies are a dime a dozen. Yet, many receive flak for their attempts to tickle our funny bones, while only a select few earn rave reviews or accolades from critics. Honestly, I can only think of a handful of comedic films that made their way to the tops of end-of-year lists, while also recalling hundreds more that drew the ire of bigwigs like Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel for accomplishing what they set out to do.
Don't get me wrong. Bad comedies exist, but everyone's sense of humor is different. Some people get a good chuckle from the physical pratfalls enacted by Chris Farley, while others revel in the low-brow antics of Will Ferrell and Jim Carrey. At any rate, the purpose of a comedy is to supply laughs and entertain its audience. The purpose of this article is to highlight a handful of poorly reviewed comedies that are...

Oh, Wisteria Lane. Never in the history of television has one cul-de-sac been the epicenter for more death and destruction, calamity and comedy. “Who’s in the casket?” It’s the question Dynasty fans have been asking all season, and Friday’s episode finally gave them their answer — for better or worse.
We’ve waited long enough for this reveal, so we won’t bother beating around the bush: While saving Fallon and Liam from a pair of mustache-twirling kidnappers, Anders (played by Alan Dale since the reboot premiered in 2017) suffered an injury to his ribs that proved to be tragically fatal. Well, the injury isn’t technically what killed him, but the pain did distract him during a drive to visit Cristal in the hospital,...

The cable news channel announced today it will premiere Lady Boss: The Jackie Collins Story at 9pm Et and Pt on June 27. The Laura Fairrie-directed film, world premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival next week, takes its title from one of Collins’ novels, featuring perhaps her most famous character, Lucky Santangello. Is Desperate Housewives getting a revival? It's been nine years since the beloved series—starring Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan, Brenda Strong and Vanessa Williams—came to an end after eight seasons. And while fellow shows like Sex and the City have reboots in the works, a Desperate Housewives revival might not be in the cards just yet, according to Cross. The actress, who played Bree Van de Kamp on the ABC series, took to Twitter on Wednesday, Jan. 13, to respond to a tweet about a reboot. "Our source inside @Hulu has confirmed that they are in the final stages of development for a 10 episode Desperate Housewives...

Dynasty is giving us a showdown 37 years in the making. As teased in the synopsis for Friday’s episode (The CW, 9/8c), “Cristal and Alexis have a historically epic encounter,” and now TVLine has your exclusive first look at Blake Carrington’s wives’ waterlogged smackdown.
For you non-historians, the reboot is recreating an iconic brawl from the original Dynasty, which found Alexis (played by Joan Collins) and Krystle (played by Linda Evans) duking it out in the lily pond. That episode, appropriately titled “The Threat,” aired in 1983.

“The Parent Trap” star Elaine Hendrix has joined the cast of The CW’s “Dynasty” reboot as the new Alexis Carrington, a spokesperson for the network confirmed to TheWrap. According to the showrunner, “Alexis is back in Atlanta, with a new look, a new man, and plenty of scores to settle.”
Hendrix will play Carrington as a series regular on the show, which is currently airing its third season. She replaces Nicollette Sheridan, who played Carrington in seasons one and two of the reboot. Sheridan exited the soap opera to “focus on some personal family responsibilities,” the network and CBS Studios told TheWrap in February.
After Sheridan’s departure, Elizabeth Gillies, who also plays Carrington’s daughter Fallon, briefly took over the role.

There is no Dynasty without Alexis Carrington stirring the pot.
According to Deadline, Elaine Hendrix will be the third actress to take on the role on The CW's reboot.
The Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll actress will take on the role during Dynasty Season 3, which premiered earlier this month.
She is taking over the role vacated by Desperate Housewives actress Nicollette Sheridan when she departed the series last season.
In order to give the character of Alexis a reason to be off-screen, Elizabeth Gillies, who also portrays Fallon Carrington played the role for a few episodes.

Thankfully, it seems like this new iteration of Alexis will be sticking around since Hendrix is on board as a series regular.
Joan Collins first portrayed the role in the original Dynasty, but these new takes on the character have not been entirely popular with fans of the series.

Every generation deserves its own Alexis Carrington in one way or another, and now the latest version of Dynasty has Elaine Hendrix to wear the clawing crown first made infamous by Joan Collins.
