If you’ve been anywhere near a television in the last couple of years, odds are you’re already familiar with Dominic Burgess. The British actor broke through in 2017’s “Feud: Bette and Joan” as actor Victor Buono, before popping up in a number of memorable appearances — playing everything from serial killer John Wayne Gacy in “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” to an accident-prone man on “The Good Place” whose hideous red boots create an existential crisis for Chidi.
Most recently, the actor has been stealing scenes as Grayman, the stylist to the grande dames (including Kristen Wiig and Allison Janney) on Apple TV’s “Palm Royale” — and as Hamish Moss, a director on the rise on “American Horror Story: Delicate.” That is, he was on the rise before the April 3 episode, in which Moss met a gruesome death at the hands of Kim Kardashian’s devilish publicist.

Margot Robbie could’ve starred in American Horror Story: Asylum as she auditioned for a role in the horror anthology series.
Casting director Eric Dawson opened up about seeing Robbie in action during a test for the second season of the FX series back in 2012.
“Margot has a lot of ‘it’ factors. That’s the tough thing for casting directors who aren’t in the room [anymore] with actors,” Dawson said in an interview with In the Envelope: The Actor’s Podcast.
Dawson continued, “Margot is probably one of my favorite auditions of all time, and it was right before she broke out. She was such a star. It was crazy, her star appeal when she walked in the room.”
AHS: Asylum aired for 13 episodes in 2012 and although Robbie didn’t get the part in the series, she would go on to star in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.

“Margot is probably one of my favourite auditions of all time,” Dawson admitted, noting that it took place “right before she broke out” in 2013’s “The Wolf of Wall Street”.

The pilot centers on three small town teenage girls who star in a porn film. In a series of "Twin Peaks"-style twists, their families are subsequently torn apart, and the town witnesses a mysterious disappearance and murder. Meanwhile, "How To Get Away With Murder," from Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers’ Shondaland, is being cast by Linda Lowy. The pilot follows a group of ambitious law students and their brilliant, mysterious criminal defense professor as they become entangled in a murder plot that shakes their university and changes the course of their lives. Say good bye to the house, Tate, and to the beloved figures in the first season of American Horror Story on FX. Season two will be upon us soon enough but with a completely different look, theme, cast, and location. Many of us thought the main focus on the show was the house and we were so wrong. Read more for details for season 2 and how you yourself can become apart of the cast.
So as I stated earlier, nothing will remain from the first season as they have deemed the show an anthology series that will be different each season. This is probably the best idea...

There's a lot to be said for looking back before moving forward, and luckily for fans of "American Horror Story", FX seems to agree with that sentiment because today they've released more behind-the-scenes videos for the series that examine the casting process for the show as well as what went into filming Episodes 1.09, "Spooky Little Girl", and 1.10, "Smoldering Children".
First, casting director Eric Dawson fills us in on choosing the perfect actors for the Harmons and their merry band of ghosts. Next, cinematographer Michael Goi discusses the "Black Dahlia" episode along with actors Frances Conroy (Moira) and Matt Ross (Charles Montgomery). Lisa Soltau was living in Seattle when her friend Bonnie Gillespie sent her a book she had written called "Casting Qs," a compilation of interviews with casting directors. "I read it and I absolutely loved all the aspects of the job," says Soltau. "I loved the entertainment industry and movies and television. The process of casting sounded wonderful."She called one of the two casting offices in Seattle and ended up working as an intern there for about six months. But the CD told her she should move to New York or Los Angeles if she really wanted to pursue a career in casting. "I picked L.A. because I had lived there once for about three years and I thought it would be easier to acclimate there," Soltau says. "Plus I wanted to work on 'Six Feet Under,' which was airing at the time.

When Laura Leighton got wind of the CW's plans to reboot the 1990s soap sensation "Melrose Place," she shrugged and assumed she would have nothing to do with it. "I figured I was dead," she says with a laugh.Indeed, Leighton's tenure as flame-haired vixen Sydney Andrews on the original "Melrose" ended fairly decisively: After five seasons of blackmail, prostitution, and assorted schemes gone awry, the character was mowed down by an out-of-control car on her wedding day. But producers of the new series had other ideas, and they approached Leighton with a twisty story line straight out of the golden age of nighttime soaps. "They basically thought there was a way Sydney could've faked her death," explains Leighton. "And the real twist is, in the pilot, she's found murdered in the pool. And then we'll have this interesting way of going back in time through flashbacks to put together the pieces.

The following is a list of the top 25 Power Casting Directors in film and television (including Casting Director of the Year, Debra Zane; see page 9). We began with more than 100 candidates. In some cases, collaborations were so closely tied that we considered multiple people as one entity. Several drafts later, all 25 spots were cast.Notably omitted from the list are in-house casting executives at studios and networks, the inclusion of whom would have ballooned our list to 50 or more. But read about them online at www.backstage.com/spotlight. Focusing on independent casting directors leveled the playing field and highlighted people whose puissance is not affected by one scale-tipping affiliation. Now, on to the top 25!Kerry BardenCan you imagine Monster's Ball starring Erykah Badu, or American Psycho starring Leonardo DiCaprio? Kerry Barden can, because he saw them read the parts. "There are so many great actors that sometimes it's a...
