Rick has been involved in entertainment and cause-related marketing content, media and events, for more than thirty years. As Producer of five feature-length films, he earned top honors from the Chicago International Children's Film Festival and Santa Clarita International Film Festival. His work in video and television has earned 15 Telly Awards®.
Production management roles include VP & General Manager of TeleScene - a division of KUTV-Television and Director of Marketing & Development for STS Productions.
Other experiences: VP Production & Acquisition for Feature Films for Families, then one of the largest independent producers and distributors of films serving a database of over four million families. His role included film production, expanded co-financing partnerships, increased production value, and elevated talent opening new distribution opportunities; Director of Marketing & Development for Donny Osmond Entertainment.
He developed award-winning messaging and events for American Stores, AT&T, Converse, Jeep, Kenwood Electronics, Parenting Magazine, Children's Miracle Network and The United States Olympic Committee.
He secured sponsorship for the 1987 Doobie Brothers Reunion Tour, originating at the Hollywood Bowl and authored strategic film, marketing and education plans for The Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games (educational programming) and Universal Family Entertainment.
As Executive Vice President/Entertainment Financing for JP Michael & Associates - a regional investment banking firm in Burbank, CA - he packaged film finance packages.
His focus on the nonprofit sector began as President of Operation Kids Foundation where he produced five national Galas presenting Lifetime Achievement Awards to John Walsh (America's Most Wanted), Steve Young (NFL Hall of Famer), Bill & Kathy Magee (co-founders, Operation Smile), and U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch. Headline artists included LeAnn Rimes, Kenny Loggins, Gladys Knight, Collin Raye, Jim Brickman and Donny Osmond. Other projects include work with Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees in post-Katrina New Orleans.
