Lucasfilm released a new trailer for The Acolyte yesterday (see below) to mark this year's Star Wars Day celebrations, and a new poster for the next live-action Disney+ Star Wars series has now been unveiled at Ccxp Mexico.
Some fans on social media initially attempted to pass this off as our first look at Darth Plagueis, but a closer look (see the knives?) reveals that it's actually Amandla Stenberg's character, Mae.
Possible spoilers ahead.
Speaking of Master Sol's former apprentice, a rumor relating to this enigmatic Force-wielder has re-emerged with some additional details. According to Daniel Richtman, both Stenberg and Manny Jacinto will actually play dual roles as two pairs of twins - one good, one evil.

To mark this year's Star Wars Day celebrations, Lucasfilm has released a brand-new trailer and poster for its next live-action Disney+ Star Wars series, The Acolyte.
In addition to some exciting lightsaber action, the teaser reveals more story details, as Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) vows to bring his wayward former apprentice Mae (Amandla Stenberg) to justice.
Mae doesn't appear to be the only one taking down Jedi, however, as we also get a first proper look at the mysterious Sith villain who is behind the murders. His (her?) face is obscured (with a mask not too dissimilar to the ones Kylo Ren and his Knights wore in the sequel trilogy), which may indicate that this formidable warrior will ultimately be unveiled as an already established character.

With now just one month to go until Star Wars: The Acolyte premieres on Disney+, a new banner has surfaced (via SFFGazette.com) highlighting the show's leads...and potentially its mysterious villain!
Mae, Sol, Venestra, Jecki, Indara, Yord, Kelnacca and Mother Aniseya are among those featured, but to the right of Sol is a mysterious figure clad in all black and wielding the red lightsaber we're betting is the same one featured in the trailers. Could this be our first look at The Acolyte's Sith baddie?
It seems likely, particularly with a helmet that instantly brings up memories of Darth Vader and the Sith Inquisitors. In fact, on closer inspection, it almost seems to boast a toothy grin, a sign perhaps that whoever is beneath the mask has a monstrous side.
With this series playing out roughly 100 years before The Phantom Menace, this could be Darth Plagueis or even his Master,...

Star Wars: The Acolyte Leaked Footage Features An Intense Force Battle And A Badass Carrie-Anne Moss
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace returns to theaters this weekend to celebrate its 25th anniversary. With a month or so before The Acolyte premieres on Disney+, Lucasfilm is looking to build hype for that by attaching an extended preview to the 1999 movie.
Now, that sneak peek has leaked online (via SFFGazette.com) and it features an edge-of-your-seat clash.
The clip kicks off with Amandala Stenberg's Mae entering a cantina and approaching a hooded figure who we soon learn is Carrie-Anne Moss's Jedi Master Indara.
A fight ensues which highlights martial arts and the Force, with Indara eventually wielding her green lightsaber as the footage comes to an end (it's then followed by a previously released trailer). The action here is top-notch and may sway those who have written The Acolyte off before it's even begun.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny dug up $24 million at the Friday box office for a projected weekend debut in the $60 million range. That would put the opening on the low end of projections, underscoring that the target audience — older adults — remains a demo that’s difficult to lure back to cinemas.
Friday’s haul includes $7.2 million in previews.
Disney and Lucasfilm’s long-delayed final and fifth installment in the adventure-action series will easily top the domestic box office chart heading into the long July Fourth weekend. The filmmakers are still hoping for domestic launch closer to $65 million, and $83 million or more through Tuesday. But a B+ CinemaScore and tepid reviews could hamper word of mouth. One bright spot is the 88 percent positive audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Friday’s audience skewed notably male (58 percent), while 42 percent of ticket buyers were 45 and older — including 23 percent 55 and older. That’s...

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hopes to set off early Fourth of July fireworks at the domestic box office.
Disney and Lucasfilm’s long-awaited next installment in the action-adventure franchise is pacing to open to $60 million to $70 million over the June 30-June 2 weekend, according to early tracking. That’s on par with Mission: Impossible — Fallout and No Time to Die, and those films didn’t face such a crowded marketplace.
The fifth and final installment in the storied series once again returns Harrison Ford as the swashbuckling archeologist Indiana Jones.
The 80-year-old actor stars opposite Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen in the James Mangold-directed film. (Steven Spielberg directed each of the previous four Indy films.)
The movie is a sequel to 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which posted a three-day debut of $100 million 15 years ago.

At the Cannes Film Festival recently, Harrison Ford fought back tears several times at the premiere of ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’, the fifth (and perhaps final) chapter of one of the most celebrated franchises in movie history.
No expense was spared as Disney jetted its top executives, including CEO Bob Iger and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, to the South of France for the summer action film directed by James Mangold and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, reports ‘Variety’.
But when the credits rolled, Cannes mustered a muted standing ovation for Indy’s latest adventure. Yes, the applause lasted for five minutes, but by Cannes standards, that’s more of a polite formality.
As per ‘Variety’, regardless of how the crowd felt about the film, the biggest cheers of the night were reserved for Ford. The actor arrived on the carpet with wife Calista Flockhart, and an announcer introduced the...

Though we won’t see “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” until its Cannes premiere next month, Disney revealed an exclusive scene from the long-anticipated “Indy 5” for the CinemaCon crowd.
In it, Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones was caught in a high speed chase in the Middle East alongside his fast-talking goddaughter played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, all while on pursuit of an ex-Nazi played by Mads Mikkelsen. The scene recalls “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and also “Temple of Doom” and that character’s Short Round as the two of them are joined by a new young companion. The chase is a rousing and amusing sequence that makes good use of practical effects, with Waller-Bridge tearing off her sleeves, dangling from the back of a moving car, and bashing the car’s roof with a crow bar.

The latest trailer shows Indy announcing his retirement in 1969, set a decade after the events of 2008’s “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Phoebe Waller-Bridge plays Indy’s goddaughter, who inspires him to take on one last case involving a mysterious dial uncovered on a train during the war.
Mads Mikkelsen plays an ex-Nazi now working at NASA during the Space Race. Antonio Banderas, Boyd Holbrook, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Oliver Richters, and Ethann Isidore also star, as well as a younger de-aged Ford in flashback sequences.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny brought a pulpy sense of adventure to the Star Wars Celebration in London, where a new trailer for the Lucasfilm spot debuted and an additional six minutes of the film were shown to a delighted crowd.
The fifth Indiana Jones comes from director James Mangold, and once again stars Harrison Ford as professor and adventurer Indiana Jones. Phoebe Waller-Bridge stars as Indiana Jones’ goddaughter, seen in the trailer dragging the archeologist out of retirement.
Littered in classic Indy moments, the trailer and footage featured tuk-tuk races around dusty Moroccan streets, Jones riding a horse through a New York street parade and jumping out of a burning plane with Waller-Bridge (who describes him in the film as an “aging grave robber”), and a scene with a giant rolling boulder. Keeping the film series’ ongoing Nazi theme alive, the story revolves around an ancient device...

Lucasfilm unveiled a brand new trailer for “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” during the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase at the Star Wars Celebration convention in London on Friday.
Described as the final film in the franchise, “Indiana Jones 5” finds Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role as the legendary hero archaeologist grapples with a new era (1969) and new characters (Phoebe Waller-Bridge plays his goddaughter Helena Shaw). The globe-trotting trek will take Indy to Morocco and Sicily. Glasgow serves as the location for a 1969 moon landing parade.
This new trailer plays on the notion that Indy is ready to retire, but he’s pulled back into one last adventure, this time against an old foe. Yes indeed, Nazis are the bad guys once more, but the device at the center of the story — the Dial of Destiny — appears to potentially allow Mads Mikkelsen’s baddie to go back in time...

It may have been Star Wars Celebration 2023, but Lucasfilm couldn’t pass up the opportunity to drop the final trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The film, which was just announced as making its premiere at Cannes, is just a few months away, and judging from the reaction in the room, fan anticipation for this one is at a fever pitch. Attendees got to watch the five minutes of the movie (a car chase in Morocco), which was only for them, but luckily fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see the full thing.
As for the trailer itself, it’s cool but also a touch unusual for an Indiana Jones movie, with it scored by The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil.” Then again, this reflects the era the movie is set in nicely (it’s set in 1969). The trailer does a good...

The man with the hat is back ... for one last ride. Harrison Ford is returning to the role of Indiana Jones for a final time with "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." This marks the first "Indy" movie not helmed by Steven Spielberg — instead, the filmmaker handed over duties to James Mangold, a good choice all things considered. This latest adventure drops Indy into the 1960s and sets him on a whole new journey that may or may not involve time travel. At the very least, its going to involve a de-aged Ford, who plays his younger Indy self in flashbacks.
The new "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" trailer dropped during Star Wars Celebration, and you can watch it below.

I was never a "Star Wars" kid growing up. No, instead, the Lucasfilm movies I most gravitated towards were the "Indiana Jones" movies.

Fifteen years after we last saw Indy, Harrison Ford puts the fedora on for one last outing as the part-time professor archeologist in James Mangold’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
