Rock’s friskiest couple Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox are back with a brand-new edition of their “Sunday Lunch” performance series. This time around, the King Crimson guitarist and the new wave singer deliver a lickin’ good version of the Iggy & The Stooges classic “Search and Destroy.”
Sporting matching mohawks, the married pair pay homage to the godfather of punk, Iggy Pop, with a playful rendition of the Raw Power tune. Robert plays the song’s iconic guitar licks while Toyah sings and dances seductively around her husband. It all culminates with Toyah slowly licking the side of Robert’s face.
The ever-youthful Robert and Toyah just celebrated their 78th and 66th birthdays on May 16th and May 18th, respectively. They’ve been entertaining fans with their “Sunday Lunch” series for four years now.

The thin line between cheating death and chasing it appears to have been smudged, repeatedly, by maverick video journalist Margaret Moth, the subject of first-time filmmaker Lucy Lawless’ fascinating documentary “Never Look Away.” At least, that’s the impression we’re left with at the end of this compact yet complex portrait of a singularly and aggressively unconventional war correspondent who inspired equal measures of admiration and anxiety among her friends, colleagues and lovers throughout her 20 years of assignments in the world’s trouble spots — Baghdad, Sarajevo, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Zaire, you name it, she was there — for CNN.
Something of an enigma even to those closest to her — “I never fully understood what was ticking inside of her” is a comment typical of responses by interviewees questioned by an off-camera Lawless — Moth was fond of proudly proclaiming, “I live life to the fullest.” But it was a life she repeatedly risked by going places,...

Jason Derulo has canceled his upcoming performance at SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival. In a sign of appreciation, PETA is thanking him with dolphin-themed gifts.
Originally scheduled to perform at the park on April 21st, Derulo’s cancellation comes after he heard about SeaWorld’s unsavory practices from PETA, according to the animal rights organization. Now, country musician Chris Young is booked for the performance instead.
As PETA explained, they informed Derulo of SeaWorld’s practice of “forcibly impregnating” dolphins and whales, as well as their history of having over 500 dolphins and whales die in captivity (including 40 orcas). Though it’s unclear if Derulo canceled solely because of PETA’s intervention, the organization is now thanking him with dolphin-themed gifts.
Specifically, Derulo will receive a “SeaWorld Sucks” t-shirt, dolphin-shaped fruit snacks, and a stuffed dolphin toy for his son. In a statement, PETA’s Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said,...

Workday is getting ready to go back on tour.
The human-resources and finance software company is ready to launch another leg of the ad campaign it launched in 2023’s Super Bowl Lvii, in which popular musicians set the record straight on whether high-performing corporate types ought to be called “rock stars.” In this go-round, two new ads will be seen during The Masters between April 8 and April 14 and in five key overseas markets: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
“We gained a ton of momentum” from the initial campaign that featured, among others, Ozzy Osbourne and Joan Jett, says Emma Chalwin, Workday’s chief marketing officer, during an interview. The company saw a 24% increase in audience consideration of Workday a a brand that could be trusted and a 50% increase in leads, among other notable spikes in metrics, Chalwin says. “It was kind of a no brainer to do a version two.

Five years ago, Robert Fripp was still merely known as the legendary guitarist of prog-rock pioneers King Crimson. Fast-forward to the present, and he’s the guy who does kooky “Sunday Lunch” YouTube videos with his wife Toyah, so it wouldn’t exactly be a shock if he joined OnlyFans. Thankfully, though, a new video declaring as much is merely an April Fools’ joke.
The clip was posted on the 77-year-old Fripp’s Instagram page with the caption, “Robert has officially joined OnlyFans! Subscribe now for exclusive, jaw-dropping content you never knew you needed…” In the video, we see a naked Fripp seductively sitting on a staircase, with only his guitar strategically preventing things from getting X-rated.
An accompanying URL (onlyfans.com/robertfripp) leads to a dead link, ultimately letting us know that it’s an April Fools’ Day prank. Whew!
It’s not the only fun new clip from Fripp.

An animated video for Mark Knopfler’s all-star charity single “Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)” – which brought together a stunning lineup of over 60 guitar gods to raise funds for Teen Cancer America and the Teenage Cancer Trust – has been released. It features the final recording of Jeff Beck along with contributions by Bruce Springsteen, David Gilmour, Slash, Ronnie Wood, Joan Jett, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, and Sting.
The song came out a week ago, but it was difficult to discern who was playing what part throughout the ten-minute song.

Kristen Stewart might forever be known as Bella Swan from the Twilight series. But she’s now making a name for herself for her edgy fashion choices. In Love Lies Bleeding, Stewart plays Lou, an introverted gym owner who falls for bodybuilder Jackie, played by Katy O’Brian. And Stewart’s been making waves with her fashion choices while promoting the film. Here’s what a source said about Stewart going for “shock” value.

Kristen Stewart has become an LGBTQ icon through the years, and fans adore her in Love Lies Bleeding. While the star may have played it safe regarding her fashion choices in the past, she’s laying it all out on the table in 2024. She and her stylist, Tara Swennen, are challenging stereotypes about “female sexuality” with her looks, a source told Us Weekly.

Mark Knopfler has teamed up with a host of fellow guitar legends to record a version of his song “Going Home (Theme from Local Hero)” to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America.
The Dire Straits frontman tapped Eric Clapton, Slash (Guns N’ Roses), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Brian May (Queen), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Pete Townshend (The Who), Alex Lifeson (Rush), Bruce Springsteen, Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Joan Jett, and many more, forming what he has dubbed “Mark Knopfler’s Guitar Heroes.” Notably, the star-studded version opens with the final recorded guitar track by the late Jeff Beck.
Knopfler’s longtime collaborator Guy Fletcher handled the production of the track, which might be the greatest assemblage of guitar talent to co-exist on a single song. The Sgt. Pepper‘s-style artwork was created by Sir Peter Blake.

“To me, Lou stood out. The real deal!” Richards said in a statement. “Something important to American music and to All Music! I miss him and his dog.

Kristen Stewart Is Strong as fuck, and I do not mean this metaphorically. I am not, for instance, talking about any experience from her past that she has quote-unquote risen above, like that time she was in those vampire-werewolf movies and dubbed the World’s Most Hated Actress because she did not appear sufficiently stoked to sit in a room full of journalists and discuss making out with her co-stars. Or the time she was photographed kissing her much older (and married) Snow White and the Huntsman director, and, due to the horror this engendered,...

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox kick it old-school with their latest “Sunday Lunch” performance. The married couple take on the Beastie Boys classic “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party).”
The King Crimson guitarist plays the Licensed to Ill song’s iconic riff as Toyah shows off her rhyme-slinging skills. Robert even chimes in on vocals in the chorus, and wraps up the performance by exclaiming, “Fight for your right to party with Toyah and Robert’s ‘Sunday Lunch.'”
These days, Toyah and Robert don’t post new “Sunday Lunch” videos every week, often re-posting past performances from the archives, but this is a brand-new edition of the popular YouTube series.

In all of Stephen King’s massive catalog, few works are as bleak as his 2010 novella collection Full Dark, No Stars. Rather than supernatural entities, these four dark tales feature human monsters and deal with the horrors that live inside the human heart. Two novellas serve as mirror images of each other, exploring the female response to predatory men. “Big Driver” follows cozy mystery writer Tess Thorne on a mission of revenge against the stranger who raped her and left her for dead. “A Good Marriage” centers Darcy Anderson, a happily married woman faced with a horrifying choice when she discovers her husband’s secret life.
Both novellas were faithfully adapted into feature films in the year 2014 – for better or worse. Premiering on Lifetime, Big Driver tackles King’s rape-revenge story with Maria Bello staring as the vigilante writer and Olympia Dukakis as her literary detective. Ann Dowd and Joan Jett...

Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox celebrated New Year’s Eve with a special “Sunday Lunch” performance of the Kiss song “Lick It Up.”

Dolly Parton may be 77 years old, but she hasn’t been slowing down at all. Last year, she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and this year, she’s responded with an album consisting primarily of rock & roll cover songs. On many of the songs, she collaborated with the original artists, including Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr of The Beatles, Steve Perry of Journey, Ann Wilson of Heart, Sting, Miley Cyrus, Elton John, and Joan Jett, to name a few. At the same time, she’s also released Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones, a coffee table book telling the stories behind some of Parton’s most famous, influential, and provocative outfits through the years. Both the album and the book spotlight other people’s work, whether it’s the songwriters or designers; Over the years we have spoken with Parton, and she once told us...

Dolly Parton isn’t done rocking yet. After sharing her new album Rockstar last week, our November cover star has returned with two new bonus tracks: Her rendition of the Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise,” plus a new version of her classic “Jolene” featuring Måneskin.
The Måneskin-assisted version of “Jolene” is available exclusively with the digital download version of Rockstar on Parton’s website, though the country icon did share a preview of the duet on Instagram. It sounds like the new recording stays fairly faithful to the original, with Måneskin’s Damiano David taking on co-lead vocals with Parton.
“Jolene” appears on the deluxe edition of Rockstar, which also features guest features from Sting, Steve Perry, Joan Jett, Mick Fleetwood, Pat Benatar, Brandi Carlile, and many, many more. See a preview clip of Måneskin’s take on “Jolene” below.

Rockstar, the star-studded rock’n’roll album by our November cover star, Dolly Parton, has arrived. Stream it below.
Inspired by her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Rockstar is the 49th full-length release from Parton, and features a variety of new originals and classic rock covers, as well as a heap of guest appearances by artists like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Ringo Starr, Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Debbie Harry, Nikki Sixx, and many more.
Speaking with Paramore’s Hayley Williams for Consequence’s most recent cover story, Parton explained that when she found out she was voted into the Rock Hall, she “didn’t feel like [she’d] earned it.” To make up for that, she got into the studio and cut a proper rock album, without cutting any corners. “That was important to me: not to half-ass do a record that’s a country girl singing some rock,...

Dolly Parton’s favorite word might be “no.”
She turned down Elvis Presley when he wanted to record her hit “I Will Always Love You” after his manager requested half of the song’s publishing rights. She initially declined her invitation to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And she forwent performing at the Super Bowl halftime show — several times.
Most artists wouldn’t pass on those golden opportunities, but this American treasure is unbothered.
“Oh, sure. I’ve been offered that many times,” Parton tells The Hollywood Reporter about the halftime show. “I couldn’t do it because of other things, or I just didn’t think I was big enough to do it — to do that big of a production. When you think about those shows, those are big, big productions. I’ve never done anything with that big of a production. I don’t know if I could have.

Dolly Parton has released the latest cover from her upcoming rock album, a rendition of the ’90s staple “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes. As with many of the reimagined hits on Rockstar, Parton recruited one of the original artists: vocalist Linda Perry. Stream the track below.
Rather than trying to mimic Perry’s original vocals, Parton leans into her strengths on “What’s Up?” and sings “from the top of my lungs” as only she can. Three decades later, the song’s theme of intense societal pressures remains universal. Directed by Steve Summers, the video for the song was filmed at Eakin Elementary School in downtown Nashville. Check it out below.
“First of all, I love Linda Perry. Second of all, I love this song written by Linda,” the always gracious Parton said in a statement. “Third of all, I love being a part of this video to try...

Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” will never be used as evocatively as it was in Miami Vice’s 1984 pilot — Fire up the Spyder, Crockett, and load that shotgun, Tubbs! — but Monday Night Football isn’t afraid to try. The Baltimore Orioles are having a moment, and no one is enjoying it more than Joan Jett. The legendary punk rocker sat in with Orioles TV broadcasters Kevin Brown and Ben McDonald during Monday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

After a few weeks of revisiting past performances, Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox are back with a new “Sunday Lunch” cover song. The married couple take on The Hives’ “Hate to Say I Told You So” in the latest edition of their popular YouTube series.
While Robert and Toyah usually cover older material, “Hate to Say I Told You So” is becoming a classic itself, having been released more than 20 years ago. It remains the signature song for The Hives, the Swedish garage rockers who’ve now been around for 30 years as a band.
For this cover, both Robert and Toyah are dressed as bees (get it: hives!), with the King Crimson guitarist being pestered by his singer wife throughout the performance. A sign on their kitchen cabinets reads, “Fripp is ma honey bee.”

Country-pop star Carrie Underwood opened the first two shows of Guns N’ Roses ‘ 2023 North American tour, and she worked a handful of rock classics into her setlist on each occasion.

"His records were too out there for American audiences at that time." Dogwoof has revealed the trailer a music history documentary film titled Angelheaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan & T. Rex, by filmmaker Ethan Silverman. Everything is explained right there in the title - this film celebrates the life and work of glam rock pioneer Marc Bolan (who died in 1977 at the age of 29) while portraying a behind-the-scenes look at the tribute album of the same name produced by Hal Wilner. This first premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival last year, with a UK release set for September, though still no US debut confirmed yet. It seems like a comprehensive look at the life and music of Marc Bolan & T. Rex, along with a contemporary attempt to modernize and pay homage to his music with other musicians reworking his creations. Tons of people are featured in this, including musicians like Nick Cave,...
