“John Tucker Must Die” is being resurrected.
The beloved high school rom-com that had a Shakespearean revenge premise is getting the delayed-sequel treatment, according to one the original film’s stars Arielle Kebbel. She’ll not just reprise her role of Carrie in this one, but also produce.
“John Tucker Must Die” centered around a philandering popular jock (Jesse Metcalfe) whose series of girlfriends devise a plan to turn the heartbreak tables around on him. Enter: Brittany Snow. The 2006 film also starred Sophia Bush, Penn Badgley, and the singer Ashanti. It was directed by Betty Thomas.
John Tucker, who definitely ain’t dead yet, may even get a redemption arc in this one.
“I’ve heard rumors of this script — there’s a script,” Metcalfe said earlier this week during a panel at Epic Cons Chicago (via E! Online). “Apparently, it’s amazing.”

You is returning for a fifth and final season — and production is already underway in New York. Check out a photo of Penn Badgley (he/him) back in the city where it all began below.
Based on the novels by Caroline Kepnes, You centers on Joe, a book-loving, hopeless romantic with a penchant for stalking and killing the women he (claims to) love, as well as anyone else who gets in his way. While Joe’s search for The One began in New York, it took him first to Los Angeles in Season 2, then to the suffocating suburbs of San Francisco in Season 3 and most recently London in the just-launched fourth season. There across the pond, the genre-hopping drama threw him into a one-percent skewering whodunit that forced him to finally accept he’s not a good man...

In "You," Joe's struggle to understand love leads to dangerous and deadly consequences. The show delves into the disturbing connections between obsession, control, and murder. Joe's twisted beliefs about love and his need to "fix" people drives the chilling narrative.
Netflix's You is a clever, heavy drama teeming with paranoia, obsession, stalking, and gruesome murder, and the best You quotes add to the experience. The show, a television adaptation of Caroline Kepnes' thriller novel, struggled when it premiered on Lifetime in September 2018 but gained surprising traction when Netflix acquired the rights barely four months later. Audiences were captivated by the bookstore manager turned anti-hero Joe Goldberg, played by Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley. Netflix renewed the series, ultimately branding it as one of their patented "Originals."

The introduction of Kate's siblings in You season 5 will likely complicate her dynamic with Joe Goldberg. Kate's brother, Teddy, risks repeating a tragic You season 2 storyline if he catches on to Joe's toxic behavior. Teddy could have more success confronting Joe than Forty, as he'll likely have more resources at his disposal.
You season 5 has added several new cast members, and one confirmed character risks repeating a tragic season 2 storyline, this time with Joe Goldberg and Kate Lockwood. Kate's influence even enables Joe to reclaim his former identity and return to New York without the fear of being held accountable for his long list of crimes.

One year ago, it was announced that the Netflix streaming service had renewed the serial killer thriller series You for a fifth season, which will also be the final one. While executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter said that You was always intended to be a “five season journey”, showrunner Sera Gamble decided not to guide the journey to its conclusion. Although she remains attached as an executive producer, she has passed showrunner duties over to fellow executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. Thankfully, Foley and Lo are no strangers to You. They have been working on the series since season 1 and season 2, respectively. Now You season 5 is gearing up for production, and Deadline reports that Madeline Brewer – whose credits include The Handmaid’s Tale, Orange Is the New Black, and the horror film Cam – has joined the cast.

Gossip Girl cast members were close in age to their characters, avoiding typical "teen" show age gaps. Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester were all in their early twenties when playing high school students. Iconic Gossip Girl characters like Serena, Blair, and Chuck were all 16 years old when the series began.
Gossip Girl featured the talents of Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, and many other young actors who rose to fame thanks to the CW teen drama television series. The popular show ran for six seasons from 2007 to 2012 and was based on the book series of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar. Gossip Girl, an anonymous blogger who spilled the secrets of wealthy teenagers living on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, was at the center of the story, and their identity was the series' central mystery that would not be solved until the very last episode.

Tell Me Lies is a compelling drama series that delves into the toxic relationship between Lucy and Stephen, exploring the profound consequences of their decisions over time. The series, based on a novel by Carola Lovering, combines elements of an obsession thriller and a toxic relationship drama, keeping audiences guessing and on the edge of their seats. Like Tell Me Lies, other shows such as You, The Affair, and Big Little Lies also tackle complex relationships, bombshell reveals, and the haunting effects of secrets and toxic dynamics.
A lot of shows like Tell Me Lies are equally intriguing, dark, and relationship-focused as the 2020s drama series. The Argylle star made a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with director Matthew Vaughn and admitted that he feels those vulnerable moments onscreen should be left to the “human imagination.”

The Witcher actor continued, “It’s when you have a sense where you’re going, ‘Is this really necessary or is it just people with less clothing on?’ And that’s when you start to get more uncomfortable and you’re thinking, ‘There’s not a performance here, there’s...

On Sept. 29, 2021, Netflix added another way for you to fall in love with your favorite shows and movies: a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. "You" season 5 reaching a book milestone isn't a problem as the show has already deviated significantly from the source material. The show's creative liberties allowed it to stand on its own rather than being a direct adaptation of the books. "You" season 5 overtaking the books is merely an interesting observation, not an obstacle for the show's final installment.
You is based on a book series by Caroline Kepnes, and You season 5 will mean the show hitting a potentially damaging milestone to which it has become immune. Netflix is no stranger to book adaptations, but You is by far one of its most successful. Kepnes' first book in the series, also named You, was published in 2014, with the show first airing four years later in 2018. Since then, there have been multiple new installments of both the books and the Netflix adaptation.

TV shows with villain twists that contradict established storylines and character development can frustrate viewers and undermine the integrity of the show. Unexpected twists that focus more on shock value than coherent storytelling can lead to backlash and a sense of betrayal from invested viewers. The challenge lies in executing twists in a way that enhances the overall viewer experience and respects the established tone and character arcs of the show.
Whether they deserve the hate or not, TV shows that made fans mad with their villain twists are forever etched into viewers' minds. These unexpected revelations can elicit frustration when they feel forced, inconsistent with character development, or undermine the overall storyline. Audiences may express disappointment when beloved characters take a sudden dark turn without sufficient build-up, or when the twist seems more focused on shock value than coherent storytelling.
