Crunchyroll chief operating officer Brady McCollum is exiting his role and the anime streamer at the end of the month.
McCollum, a 15-year veteran, was one of the company’s first employees. In addition to serving as chief operating officer, McCollum was in other various senior roles including director of business development, head of business operations and head of international and global operations.
“I would be hard-pressed to say this decision isn’t personally bittersweet; a key part of that is this immensely talented team, the strength and momentum of the business today, and the major opportunity ahead,” McCollum said in a statement. However, it is also important for me to build versus grow, and I’m looking to create some new milestones and meaningful moments.”
McCollum will be replaced by Chief Marketing Officer Gita Rebbapragada, who will add strategy and planning, business operations, content operations, localization (dubbing), curation and programming,...

French rock idol Johnny Hallyday, remembered as the nation’s answer to Elvis Presley in the 1960s, has died at age 74.
The legendary singer died from lung cancer, his family confirmed.
“Johnny Hallyday has left us,” Hallyday’s wife, Laeticia, said in a statement to The Guardian. “I write these words without believing them. But yet, it’s true. My man is no longer with us. He left us tonight as he lived his whole life, with courage and dignity.”
Beginning in 1960, Hallyday was the heartbeat of Gallic rock n’ roll, becoming its best known and best-selling artist for nearly six decades.

(The love letter wasn't actually intended for her, or at least it was, but it isn't a real love letter. And the young man isn't supposed to have delivered it, still less been seen doing so. But more of that later.)
Anyway, there's one of the undisputed greats of French cinema, 63 years of age, 80-odd films to her name, an actor who has worked with Truffaut and Godard, Pialat, Chabrol and Tavernier, who has won four Césars and...
