After The Hangover made unheard of gobs of money, some of the sharper minds in Hollywood started to wonder if its appeal was just a fluke, or if one if its featured performers, Bradley Cooper, might be ready to step out of comedy ensembles and anchor his own films as a star. Now that he’s gotten an Oscar nomination for his work in Silver Linings Playbook, he sees his career reaching yet another crossroads, however. If he’s able to keep the momentum of this newfound respect and recognition going over the course of his next few film choices, we could see him become one of the premiere names in Hollywood: a George Clooney, Brad Pitt, or a Tom Cruise. So, what’s the first post-nomination job that he’s accepted...

Coming off an Oscar nomination for an impressive performance in Silver Linings Playbook, actor Bradley Cooper can pretty much do whatever he wants. One of his projects is a reunion with director David O. Russell in an untitled drama formerly known as American Bullshit which just gained Louis C.K. in the cast. Now Deadline has word that Warner Bros. has just landed the rights to Howard Blum's upcoming book Dark Invasion. Nabbing an Oscar nod might call for plenty of celebration, but Anne Hathaway and Bradley Cooper are already setting their sights onto their next big projects in today's Casting Call.
Since one can never have too much Shakespeare—especially in Hollywood—it shouldn't come as too much a surprise that a modern-day retelling of "The Taming of the Shrew" is currently in the brewing stages. And now, Hathaway is reportedly set to headline the film. This wouldn't be Hathaway's first attempt to take on the Bard's complex language. Back in 2009, she played Viola in Shakespeare in the Park's production of "Twelfth Night."

The play itself has already been "retold" by the way of '90s high-school cult movie "10 Things I Hate About You." The forthcoming interpretation, however, should prove to be grown-up fare, since Abi Morgan,...

1.) Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi has joined Dreamworks' car racing flick Need for Speed. The film already had a solid cast of rising stars in Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad"), Imogen Poots (Fright Night) and Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger), but it seems no would-be action franchise's cast is complete without the requisite hip-hop artist. The studio claims the project is aiming for the tone of the car-culture films of the 1970s, but they might have to bring Steve McQueen back from the dead to prove to me they're doing anything more than trying to capitalize on the success of the Fast and Furious franchise. At any rate, the film stars Paul as a street racer who joins a coast-to-coast race to get revenge after being framed for the death of a friend. Scott Waugh (Act of Valor) directs for a February 2014 release. THR 2.) MGM is taking all that money...

With an Oscar nomination under his belt for Silver Linings Playbook and a massive franchise hit with the Hangover films, Bradley Cooper is a man with no little power in Hollywood right now. He’s using some of that clout to have Warner Bros. snap up Howard Blum’s book Dark Invasion as a star vehicle to develop.Blum’s tome is a real-life spy thriller set in 1915.
