In 1977, he became a Directing Fellow at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
In 2009, Borman filed suit against Terminator Salvation (2009) co-producers Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek. He alleged fraud and breach of contract after he was supposedly paid only half of his $5 million producing fee for his work in transferring the Terminator rights to the pair.
Started out producing German television.
In 1997, he founded Pacifica Entertainment. Pacifica later merged with Intermedia Films in 2000, leading to 'IM Internationl Media AG'.
