- Elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1974.
- He is credited as one of the creators of the "Nashville Sound" of the sixties and early seventies.
- With his brother Harold Bradley built the first recording studio (the Quonset Hut) on what is now known as Music Row in Nashville during the fifties. After he sold it in 1962, he built the more famous "Bradley's Barn". Another of his brothers, Charles Donald Bradley (d. 30 July 1995) was a recording engineer in Nashville.
- Is portrayed by Jerry Haynes in Sweet Dreams (1985).
