Thursday’s Legacies revealed that someone at the Salvatore School is not who they appear to be — which is saying a lot, considering a good portion of the student body is made up of literal werewolves.
While Lizzie and Hope battled their way through an alternate reality based on the hits of the 1980s (killing a minotaur in the process!), their fellow classmates navigated a different type of battlefield at the Salvatore School’s ’80s decade dance. Most notably, Josie and Landon almost had sex for the first time, though Josie pumped the brakes when she discovered a song Landon...

After four seasons in front of the camera as one of the recurring stars of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s American Horror Story, Angela Bassett has returned to the series -- only this time as director of the ninth episode (“Drink the Kool-Aid”) of Cult. And the actress tells Et that she was honored to helm her second episode of the anthology series, but happy that she had no idea it would be the coveted Halloween episode. “I wasn’t intimidated until last week,” says Bassett, who was pleased with her second opportunity to go behind the camera, adding that the success of the episode all started with the script. “It’s a script you can go buck wild with. I feel fortunate that I got a great script.”
On “Drink the Kool-Aid,” many storylines come to a head as Ally and Ivy (Sarah Paulson and Alison Pill, respectively) have an unexpected and deadly reunion, Oz’s ([link...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the eighth episode of American Horror Story: Cult.
Cult, the seventh installment of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s anthology series, American Horror Story, continues to be one of the most creepy and chilling seasons yet as the story of an Ohio town falling under the guise and delusions of a psychopath after the fallout of the 2016 presidential election continues to unfold in unexpected ways. And episode eight (“Winter of Our Discontent”), directed by Barbara Brown, is no exception, when Kai’s (Evan Peters) female followers -- most notably, Beverly (Adina Porter) and Ivy (Alison Pill) -- become disillusioned by his leadership after they're forced to cook and serve his growing group of male supporters in a very Handmaid’s Tale-like setup. Later, Kai proposes that Samuels (Colton Haynes) impregnate Winter (Billie Lourd) with the messiah, resulting in a bizarre threesome and an attempted rape by Samuels as he tries to prove his...

7.8 Winter Of Our Discontent
Kai Anderson is rapidly losing his grip on his followers. More and more, it seems the cracks in his story are coming to life, and those cracks are going to cause him to trip and fall before the season is over. We've already seen his core group beginning to fracture and split apart, and with every dead original, the loose-knit collective gathered by Kai's personality further unravels. Of course, since Kai has a private security force at this point,...

Scream Queens, Season 1, Episode 11, “Black Friday”
Written by Ian Brennan
Directed by Barbara Brown
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
A table setting episode that actually works as a full episode without being boring, “Black Friday” sets up all of the last pieces of the puzzle before everything is locked into place and solved for good in next week’s two-hour season finale. Nobody dies, despite the Kappa’s best efforts to off Dean Munsch, but many of the remaining players are left with their backs up against the wall as the Red Devil prepares to finish off everyone still bleeding. Grace is without a house of sisters to protect her and a boyfriend who now admits he is a murderer, Chanel is without the assurances that every plan she comes up with will succeed, Pete is a lone wolf probably being targeted by his murder partner, and Dean...

Scream Queens, Season 1, Episode 7, “Beware of Young Girls”
Written by Ryan Murphy
Directed by Barbara Brown
Airs Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
The closing sequence of this episode is one of the best, if not outright so, things that Scream Queens has done thus far. From the decision to have Munsch completely admit to killing her husband, while dancing around with a glass of wine and a satisfied look on her face nonetheless, to the decision by the Chanels to go after suspected murderers Grace and Zayday and take the house back, more is accomplished in the last five minutes than in much of the rest of the season. The pan from Grace and Zayday entering the sorority house as a happy pair up to the shadows of the four Chanels’ heels and skirts, before shifting over to them standing on the staircase, is a great way to make...
