Harry Bosch is returning to Amazon Freevee on Oct. 20 – and he’s taking matters into his own hands to save his daughter in a new teaser for “Bosch: Legacy” Season 2.
The drama series’ second season finds Bosch (Titus Welliver) working alongside Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers) to track down a masked assailant who kidnapped his daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) before time runs out. But as the FBI scrutinizes Carl Rogers’ murder, Bosch and Chandler are placed under suspicion.
In the clip, Jerry Edgar (Jamie Hector) tells Bosch that he needs to let authorities do their job to find his daughter, to which he replies: “Don’t cut me out!.” He also makes clear that while the FBI has to do things the “right way,” those rules don’t apply to him.

“Bosch” is a full-fledged TV universe now. The long-running police procedural starring Titus Welliver is getting two new spinoff series from Amazon Studios.
Currently untitled, the two series in development at Amazon are based on characters created by Michael Connelly in his series of Henry Bosch detective novels. One will focus on Jerry Edgar, a LAPD detective and Bosch’s former partner. Jamie Hector, best known for “The Wire,” played the character in all seven seasons of the original “Bosch” series.
The second show will star the character of Renee Ballard, who first appeared in Connelly’s 2017’s novel “The Late Show” and crossed over with Bosch in 2018 book “Dark Sacred Night.” Ballard, a detective and mentee of Bosch, was never featured on the original show.

Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver) has quit the LAPD and is now a private investigator who makes “fewer compromises” in the first trailer for Imbd TV’s “Bosch: Legacy,” the spinoff of Prime Video’s longest-running original series, police drama “Bosch.”
While he’s off the force, his daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) is now a rookie cop who seems able to handle herself just fine. Her dad tells her, “You have to decide what kind of cop you want to be. It’s either a mission or it’s just a job.” Given that both her parents were cops, Maddie’s mission seems clear, if only dad can stop worrying about her working the East Hollywood beat.
The spinoff finds Harry reluctantly teaming up with former enemy, attorney Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers) and relying on jazz-loving tech guy Maurice “Mo” Bassi (Stephen A. Chang).

Amazon’s beloved crime series, Bosch, is officially set for a seventh and final season.
Bosch Season 7 has been announced by Amazon with the confirmation of a finish line set for the Titus Welliver-starring modern noir detective show, which launched back in 2014 as one of Amazon’s very first original offerings.
The preemptive season renewal for Bosch, which is currently on deck for a Season 6 premiere sometime this year on Amazon Prime Video, is par for the course, most recently exemplified by the platform’s announced order for said sixth season way back in November 2018 – well ahead of the April 19, 2019 arrival of Season 5, the most recent frame available. Indeed, with no date to cite yet for Season 6, the show’s ultimate swan song in Bosch Season 7 is likely far off on the horizon.

The AFI Conservatory, one of the crown jewels of the American Film Institute, celebrated its 50th anniversary in style Thursday night at the place where it all started, the fabled Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. One of the first “colleges” for filmmakers (there were only four at the time), it opened at Greystone in 1969 and stayed there until 1981 ,when it moved to Griffith Park, where it still stands at the former Immaculate Heart campus.
The students — or fellows, as they are called for that first class — included future Oscar- nominated legends like Terrence Malick, Paul Schrader, and cinematographer Caleb Deschanel, the latter among many alumni who returned to the original campus for a class-reunion-of-all-class-reunions Thursday. Others attending included three-time Oscar nominee and 2019 Honorary Academy Award winner David Lynch from the class of 1970, Pieter Jan Brugge (Class of 1979), Jay Cassidy (1976), Susannah Grant (1991), Liz Hannah (2009), Marshall Herskovitz (1975), Mel Jones (2010), Matthew Libatique (1992), Melina...

One of Amazon’s most unsuspecting properties has now secured a full-length second season. Bosch debuted its first season exclusively via Amazon Instant Prime in February, and snagged two prestigious honors in the following month. In terms of viewership, it secured the biggest debut weekend of any Amazon Original series and went on to become the most-watched title on Amazon Prime during its first four weeks. Now, understandably so, another season has been set in motion that will continue the tale of Hollywood cop Harry Bosch.
The series is adapted from Michael Connelly’s series of novels, and season two will continue that trend. For this next spate of episodes, the adventures of the gruff Lapd detective (Titus Welliver) are to be mined from two of Connelly’s novels – Trunk Music and The Drop. During these hour-long instalments, Bosch will investigate the murder of a Hollywood producer who laundered money...

Not only has Bosch, Amazon‘s original drama series, performed well for the service, it’s managed high praise from viewers and critics. Amazon has now announced a second season, and even a bit of a plot synopsis for that season.
If you aren’t already on board with the stylish, intense series based on Michael Connelly’s books, you now have even more incentive, as you know there’s more on the way.
This is actually a bigger announcement than it might seem, because new seasons are still a guessing game for streaming services, which don’t have a history for viewers to fall back on when it comes to being able to figure out if a favorite is worth investing in. I know a lot of people weren’t sure about jumping into Alpha House at first, for just that reason.
At any rate, you have more to look forward to,...

The list, published by The Hollywood Reporter, includes actors, cinematographers, designers, directors, documentarians, executives, film editors, makeup artists and hairstylists, "members-at-large," musicians, producers, PR folks, short filmmakers and animators, sound technicians, visual effects artists, and writers.
Jason Bateman, Rosario Dawson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Mortimer, Sandra Oh, Jason Schwartzman, and Michael Peña are among the roster of actors, while "The Heat" and "Bridesmaids" helmer Paul Feig made the directors' cut.
"We did not change our criteria at all," says Academy president Hawk Koch of this year's larger-than-usual class. "Yes, this year there is a tremendous amount of women, a tremendous amount of people of color, people from all walks of life. This year, we asked the branches to look at everybody who wasn't in the Academy but who deserved to be.

The American Film Institute said the Time Warner Foundation is donating $1 million to AFI in recognition of chairman and CEO Barry Meyer and president and COO Alan Horn’s years of leadership at Warner Bros. The honor will be acknowledged with the rededication of the Warner Bros. Building on the AFI Campus.
The Warner Bros. Building is the cornerstone of AFI’s eight-acre campus located in the hills overlooking Hollywood and has served as the training ground for generations of established, award-winning filmmakers, including Caleb Deschanel, Marshall Herskovitz, Janusz Kaminski, David Lynch and Ed Zwick, to name a few. This year alone, AFI Awards, the Institute’s almanac which honors the top movies and television programs of each prior year, included the contributions of 24 AFI Conservatory alumni, among them Darren Aronofsky, Jon Avnet, Pieter Jan Brugge, Jay Cassidy, Robert Elswit, Brad Falchuk, Carl Franklin, Lesli Linka Glatter, Matthew Libatique and Wally Pfister.
