In life, spewing hate comes easy; finding the good takes effort. That’s my mantra for “Revenge of the Remakes.” Get dirty and identify value where others hastily — maybe unfairly — laid harsh criticisms. Any remake, in any genre, faces biased outrage from peanut galleries who refuse to remove their nostalgia goggles. It’s easy to prey on the hate clickers out there, which is why I use this column as a voice for the misunderstood and wrongly delegitimized. A remake isn’t trash because it’s a remake, there’s more to the equation.
That said (and believed), not all remakes are created equal. With soaring highs come subterranean lows. Sometimes remakes are nothing but a copy-and-paste cash grab, devoid of creative ambitions. These examples fuel smear campaigns about remakes at large — and today, we’re dissecting one of the worst.

Whether you're a long-time fan of "Doctor Who" or a relatively new Whovian that started following the seminal British sci-fi series after the 2005 reboot, you know that The Doctor's history is basically a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey stuff. And after nearly sixty years of stories, you start to revisit some of your old favorites. For starters, Russell T. Davies is returning to helm the BBC series (which makes its debut on Disney+ internationally starting this year), along with former stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate, to reconnect with some of the most beloved characters of the modern era of the show before the universe meets Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor.
Not only will we see the "Good Omens" and "Staged" star back on the Tardis (this time as the Fourteenth Doctor) alongside "The Runaway Bride" Donna Noble in some capacity, but Jacqueline King, Karl Collins, and the late...

Sonia Kruger has revealed that she is backing Kerri-Anne Kennerley in Dancing with the Stars. The Australian TV presenter recently quit her role as host of the reality dance contest to take over Kennerley's old breakfast television show alongside David Campbell. Kruger has now said that she hopes the rumours that Kennerley has signed on for the next series of Dancing with the Stars are true, telling the Herald Sun that it felt "weird" that she might be doing a "kind of job swap" with Kennerley. She added: "I think she would have an absolute blast doing the show, and I'll be watching because she's a legend. It's totally her world." Campbell said: "I think it would be easier to take over [Kennerley's] show than to be on Dancing with the Stars this year if she's on it. She's (more)...

Sonia Kruger has revealed that she knew she wanted to "try something new" this year when it came to her career. The Australian television personality quit her presenting role on Dancing with the Stars last year in order to defect to the Nine Network. She was recently announced as the new host of breakfast TV show Mornings, alongside singer David Campbell. Kruger told National Features: "Nine had the opportunities, going forward that I needed. As much as I loved Channel Seven and Dancing with the Stars, after 11 series I just knew I had to move on and I really wanted to try something new and have a bit of fun." Mornings will take the place of Kerri-Anne Kennerley's long-running show. Kruger said of the controversial replacement: "I've always been a long-time admirer of Kak. She's been a great role (more)...
