- Actor in second feature westerns who began as a stunt man under the name Josh Carpenter. He had a reputation as an excellent rider.
- Was set to train with the Chicago White Sox in 1936 but was run over by a car in a hit and run accident. He fractured his left leg in seven places, breaking his back and causing internal injuries. After being in a body cast for 119 days, he had lost his chance at a baseball career.
